World Book and Copyright Day 2022

23 April is a symbolic date in world literature. It is the date on which several prominent authors, William Shakespeare, Miguel de Cervantes and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died. This date was a natural choice for UNESCO’s General Conference, held in Paris in 1995, to pay a world-wide tribute to books and authors on this date, encouraging everyone to access books.

What do you love the most about books?

I love just “going away” for a little bit. Somewhere that’s not real, somewhere my imagination can take me away for a little while. Where I can dream, but come back as soon as I want too. I don’t HAVE to travel to get where I want to, or come back from. I’m there and back again, a Hobbits tale, lol.

If you want to talk more books, come and chat on my Discord Book Channel! ‚̧ Happy Book Day.

“Good ole days”

As bad as everything is now, I don’t want the “old days” back. The reason why NOW is so bad, is because the good ole days, let a lot of things slide. As much as I dislike Trump, I think his “Presidency” showed a LOT of what’s wrong with the world.

So what am I looking forward too in the hopeful not to distant future:

A MUCH better system of Government, there’s no way we can keep doing it the way it is. We need to make room for independent government members.

Finally people making actual equal rights for LGBTQIA + people.

Something to actually STOP Trump from running for POTUS again.

The Royal Commission, in Australia, into the Murdoch Media Enterprise.

World Peace…That may be a little bit unrealistic.

Becoming affiliate on Twitch.

My Discord channel is becoming more active, so that’s exciting!

The rest of the week

I started off the week with, I can’t believe this is the way the world is right now. It is, but it doesn’t mean we have to continue with ourselves being stupid. We can take the attitude and try to create a more positive state of world for ourselves and try our best for others.

After this post, all positive for the rest of the week.

Personally, I am spending more time off of Twitter. It was stupid before, but now it’s just getting, well honestly, pretty violent on there. Twitter are literally doing nothing to stop it. There are people on there (apart from Rowling) just saying b-shit. You know, even a couple of years ago, they eventually did something about Trump, and COVID? Well now, they’re doing nothing really. It’s not just Rowling, it’s a lot of people, especially those on the right, who are actually threatening people who have pronouns. And Twitter? Do not even delete the tweets.

How many more times do we need to find out that a mass murderer was really obviously on some spiral on Twitter? Andy Ngo is inspiring others to kill every day and what do Twitter do? Literally nothing. Then he gets all offended when a College Campus do not want him on their campus. Is he kidding? Not sorry, but people don’t like you Andy.

Then of course, while literally threatening to kill people for using pronouns. They use pronouns.

We use pronouns every single day. I can totally understand that using they/them may get confusing, when you’re brought up with only she/her or he/him. I am still getting it wrong, but to threaten to kill people?

Pronouns – What Are Pronouns? – Types, Examples & Definition (Study.com)

It is just getting ridiculous.

Interesting Update:

Interesting Update: There was a YouGov poll that came out today, in the UK. I don’t know if it has anything to do with backlash against not banning trans people from conversion therapy. But the poll says that the majority of Tory MPs want the ban to cover trans people too. Not a HUGE majority, but a majority still the same ūüėā

‚ÄúAs the person in power, the PM‚Äôs primary role is to protect the most vulnerable in his society”

Can you believe it?

As the fabulous Blanche Devereaux said

Well, I am stunned. Just stunned. Stunned is the only way to describe how… stunned I am!”

And it kind of feels like that no matter where you look. You look there “oh no that’s bad”, so you look over there “oh no, that’s bad too”…”and it’s not looking so great over there”.

Two days before Travie past, we thought he had depression. So I bought all this stuff to cheer him up. I still get notification from the pet store. At first it depressed me, but you know something? There are a lot of amazing things for pets out there. I am going to use Travie’s Insta to advertise that a lot more. (mynameistravie)

My Twitch channel is progressing, I can now give VIP things to people I like =D I don’t know WHAT that means though, lol … So close to affiliate, and my plan is to then help raise money for different charities.

Emma Watson saying that she speaks for ALL Witches, badass. And yet some people were not satisfied with that even! She was just throwing “crumbs”. What Watson did, was take on Rowling, and the comments about Emma from a lot of GCs and transphobes. She did so much MORE than just throw crumbs.

It is like everywhere you look, there are bad things. So you have to look for look for the little rays of light inbetween the dark clouds, otherwise you will go mad.

It is completely weird…but that’s our world…

I participated in a poll last week, where we were asked if we trusted politicians or the media. Media lost, by over half and with 6,000 votes. Is it because we KNOW politicians will always be shifty? Whereas, I think I’m not alone in writing this…I don’t trust the media anymore. I EXPECT, and from the comments, so did others. You expect politicians to be shifty and nasty, even the nice ones. The media is SUPPOSED to be our defense against that.

Another one that I came across was the TERFS. Saying that one trans people want to take and take and take, and have taken everything “sacred” to females…Like if these females want public bathrooms that badly, they can bloody well have them. And yet, they’re confused when people call them “weird TERFs” because they (adults) are talking about complete strangers children’s orgasms, with no medical or health degree on Twitter. THAT IS FREAKING WEIRD! Too sit there publicly talking about how only women have cervices. One, not all women have a cervix, and not only women have one either. I ended up saying “The only difference between TERFs and MRA’S, MRA’s aren’t pretending they’re not obsessed with other’s genitals”.

But then Boris Johnson went and said this…’biology is very important but…’ and said he believed in treating everyone with ‘dignity and respect’.

So now, I’m like…whaaaaaa

The world in generally has just completely lost the plot. It’s a weird world, we’re living in…a mad world…even? The weirdest thing to me, is that the people in charge, like Johnson, Morrison (Australia), the BBC and the ABC. All these people have had jobs during the whole time, during each lockdown, in each country. They were allowed and kept going to work. So it’s weird to see them losing the plot.

My mum, as an example, has been able to work during most of the lockdowns. Has she had said to me previously, nothing really changed for her. But yet you see these Ministers and Journalists, actually working, and had somewhere to go and getting out of their homes during COVID, losing their minds.

Medics who are “mad”

Over the week I read a article about two healthcare workers (a mother and a daughter) dying from COVID. They weren’t vaccinated. They passed within roughly a week of each other.

I just kept re-reading the same words over and over again…”health care workers”. Who were anti-vax, and thus died from COVID. Is that real? Yes, it is.

Covid-19: Mother and daughter die days apart in hospital.

Mr McAllister said both his daughter and his ex-partner Ms Maddern were domiciliary care workers, who looked after elderly people in their own homes.

I am going to swear, how in FUCK, were these two allowed near elderly people? They didn’t want the vaccine, fine. But do NOT work around vulnerable people!

What is going on in the world? Like seriously.

I saw a tweet about this topic and someone said “That’s a bit iffy, them being around the elderly isn’t it”? And this woman actually had the audacity to say “Why would it matter”?

You have the Freedom to do what you want, but you do not have the Freedom to put my life at risk. You do not have the right to put my Gran’s life at risk. You don’t have a single Freedom, that means you get to harm those around. You don’t want to get vaccinated, you don’t want to do the least you can do to help your fellow “man”. Go back into the hell hole you create for yourself and STAY THERE. If I find out that you’ve put my life or my Gran’s life at risk, I am COMING FOR YOU! … And I will take your little dog from you too!

World Elephant Day is an international annual event on August 12, dedicated to the preservation and protection of the world’s elephants.  The first World Elephant Day was launched on August 12, 2012, to highlight the plight of Asian and African elephants.

The World Elephant Day was initiated on August 12, 2012, when Thailand-based Elephant Reintroduction Foundation teamed up with Canadian filmmaker Patricia Sims. This is not just a day but a movement in itself. Since 2012, Ms Sims has been leading World Elephant Day.

Some elephant facts:

Elephants are the largest land animals on Earth

Their tusks are actually teeth.

There are three different species of elephant ‚Äď the African Savannah elephant, the African Forest elephant and the Asian elephant.

Elephants need up to 150kg of food per day ‚Äď that’s around 375 tins of baked beans although half of this may leave the body undigested.

Elephant tusks never stop growing, so enormous tusks can be a sign of an old elephant. Both male and female African elephants grow tusks, but only male Asian elephants grow them.

A single calf is born to a female once every four to five years and after a gestation period of 22 months‚ÄĒthe longest of any mammal.

World Lion Day

In case you hadn’t noticed, I have a huge love for Lions and Lionesses.

Remembering Lions

World Lion Day is celebrated on¬†August 10¬†of every year to raise awareness about lions and to mobilise support for their protection and conservation. According to the World Wide Fund for animals (WWF), even though a lion is often referred to as the ‚Äúking of the jungle,‚ÄĚ it actually only lives in grasslands and plains. There is however, The Asiatic lion is a Panthera leo leo population surviving today only in India. Since the turn of the 20th century, its range is restricted to Gir National Park and the surrounding areas in the Indian state of Gujarat. Historically, it inhabited much of the Middle East to northern India

In all honestly, I think I began to love Lions because of talking one from a book, and I’ve just love them ever since. My favourite is Mufasa, but I love them both.

Lions can get their water from plants

There are thought to be as few as 23,000 lions left in the wild. When you think there are around 415,000 wild African elephants, you realise lion numbers are incredibly low. In fact, lions have disappeared from over 90% of their historical range.

Lions are the second largest big cat species in the world (behind tigers).

Lions are the only known cat species where individuals roar together Рwith even young cubs joining in with their mews. The calling sequence usually lasts about 40 seconds.

World Yoga Day

The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated annually on 21 June since 2015, following its inception in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice which originated in India.

The¬†theme¬†for the¬†International Yoga Day 2021¬†is ‘Yoga¬†for well-being’. This¬†theme¬†has been conceived to stress on the importance of the role of¬†yoga¬†in the care and treatment given to Covid-19 patients during the quarantine period.

I have to admit though, I probably will not participating this year. I went and hurt my pubic bone! We have…HAD…a mop that broke ages ago, but I used it this one LAST time. The handle keeps going up and down, the stopper, isn’t stopping it. So it’s really horrible to handle. Last time it made my back ache for a while. This time my back ached for a while AND I’ve somehow hurt my pubic bone…

So new mop.

In the meantime though. I can’t…it’s a weird feeling,lol

Did you know: Some facts about Yoga

Yoga is not a religion, it is connected to religion, and stems historically from Hinduism, but also to Jainism and Buddhism.

The practice of Yoga was started during the Indus-Sarasvati civilization in Northern India over 5,000 years ago. It was first mentioned in Rig Veda, a collection of texts that consisted of rituals, mantras, and songs which was mainly used by Brahmans, the Vedic priests.

Shiva is also known as Adiyogi Shiva, regarded as the patron god of yoga, meditation and arts.

The funny about Shiva being the God of Yoga, meditation and arts. Is how many white women, TERFs, especially practice Yoga, Meditation and consider themselves artsy or crafty. It’s funny because the God Shiva,¬†has both Male and Female¬†features. THE MORE YOU KNOW.
