Thank you! <3

I just wanted to thank everyone who reads my Blog and is a reader of my Blog as well. As some of you know, I really don’t like the word “Follower”. For myself, personally, it’s got like a cultish slight tinge to it,lol

I needed to write a post just for my readers on WordPress. Some of you are new, some of you have been reading my posts for a while!

I really honestly feel that even though I have not actually met any of you, in a a physical sense. I feel like a lot of us are good friends and you are some of the nicest people I have ever known! I wouldn’t keep writing this Blog, if it wasn’t for you all. Not too many people in my real life, even know about this Blog. I’m trying to keep it that way. Not because I feel like I’m doing anything wrong, just I know…the criticisms -.- Oh, you shouldn’t have written THAT Lauren!lol…You know what I’m talking about, I get criticised for my Facebook photos, let alone anything I write.

On here I feel safe and free to say what I want, and also free to take the responsibility for what I write too. Although I am not like totally famous or anything. Once something is out there, it’s out there. At times when I write a post I feel “Is this okay”. I have to say that every single one of you make me feel better, that I’m not alone and that you back me up in a lot about what I write.

You have all helped me so much with my anxiety and just generally feeling better about myself. I think a lot of us are going through the same thing.

I am not enjoying this “new” WordPress.

It does not show the times and dates of the already schedule posts, so I have to guess So you don’t get them all at once. It also randomly, when I try to schedule the time and date, will disappear. So I am having to repeatedly changing the date and time. .Plus, I think it’s going by American time, even though I’m Australian and not everyone on WordPress is American. Whereas in the classic views, I knew that the times difference was different (my evening was your morning. At least I knew that) but now it goes by American time (So your morning is your morning). It’s gone backwards. The “block” keeps saying switch back to the classic view, but it does absolutely nothing. It’s a literal block of nothingness!

Even trying to Schedule and tag words are just that little bit more”intense”, you can’t just press the Schedule button anymore It seems to go back and forth between Schedule and Preview. Then when I put a tag in, it disappears for a second…Keeps freaking me out,lol

Does anyone know how to at least show the scheduled posts on the calendar?

I nominate to tag back to Acire’s original Amity Award post  so the origin is known about and the word spread.

Why did I start this blog?

Those who have been reading my Blog since the beginning (if any are still around). I actually started this Blog for a school project. We were learning about all different types of social media and useful Internet websites. I was studying to become a Librarian and a part of that is knowing good sites to use and suggest to people. I am still amazed with how long I have taken this!

What’s something that I appreciate about the blogging community?

I have met some honestly fantastic writers and people. Every single persons Blog I follow and read, every single Blog post that I have liked. It keeps me going. I have read some fantastically kind and intelligent people. Even when we have a difference in opinion, there are actual discussion had instead of “Your a Libtard” or something like that. (I mean to write Your as well, lol)

How do I like to spread kindness in the blogging community?

I try to reply to all the comments that I get. I also like to read through and like people’s posts, even if I don’t have a comment to write. I like liking posts to show that I am reading them.

I would like to nominate the following blogs for the Amity Award:

As always if you want too, please feel free to do this. I nominate as well though:

Be cool Lolsy, Be Cool…

Thank you all who started to read my Blog! You’ve made this girl very happy =D

I wrote a post a couple of weeks back saying that if I could get close to 1000 near the end of the year, that I would do a give away. I am still going to do that. In fact, I’ve already gotten a couple of things for it…So watch this space for me! 4 month until Christmas! I think if it keeps going the way it’s going…I can see getting to the 1000 readers by the end of the year. That would be really fantastic!

I just have to find a way to do the giveaway! Does anyone know how to set one up on WordPress?

Who says…I love you! <3

Just wanted to say I do love you people on WordPress…Your support has meant a lot to me. Just being able to discuss all sorts of things! This is for you all ❤ Play it loud!

Irregardless of your physical fitness, coordination or agility: If you could be an athlete what would do do? Remember this is SYW, dreaming is always allowed

I have always wanted to be an Ice-Skater, they just all look so beautiful in the ice! They almost feel like they’re floating sometimes. I have always loved Torvill and Dean, and I have their film on DVD. I was obsessed when I was a child. I’d go over my Grandparents and watch “Fire and Ice”.

A piece of clothing from your younger childhood you still remember?

I do. I have a dress, it’s kind of hard to describe, but I looked so cute in it! It was a mid blue, sports style with a hood. It had these white and black checker pockets too, lol. I LOVED it! Good quality too, it lasted for quiet a while. I had to stop wearing because I grew out of it.

In a car would you rather drive or be a passenger?

Although I cannot actually drive. I am starting to learn, but I’d rather not be doing that. I’m doing it mainly because I feel I have too. With myself and my furbabies getting unexpectedly sick and my Dad having a triple instead of a double bypass. I feel like I have too now. I prefer being the passenger though.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

I really appreciate the people on WordPress. Commentary wise I have had some amazing, inspirational conversations this week. They have been really motivating!

  4. Give two pieces of advice for new bloggers
  5. Choose 10 other bloggers to nominate.
  6.  Comment on each blog letting them know they’ve been nominated, and provide a      link to your award post.

Just like the fabulous Words and Tonic Blog I was nominated for two different Blogging nominations, so let’s do this thing! By the way, you should definitely go and check out their Blog. It makes for some great reading! Very interesting and a different variety of topics, presented in a humorous tone.

If you’ve been reading my Blog since near the beginning from a couple of years ago. You would know that I started my Blog because of a school project. One of the projects that we had to do was to start up different types of social media Blogs, ones that we weren’t already on, and then answer different questions. I enjoyed using WordPress so much that I just kept going. It is the longest outside of fictional writing that I have kept something like this up. In all my other diaries and journal, I’ve usually gotten about 5 or 6 entries in and then nothing usually happens after that. Sometimes I do think that maybe I should look into private journal apps.

Advice:

  1. WRITE FOR YOU

I think this may be the most important rule of all. You have to write for you, you can’t write for anyone else, but you. If you try and force it, or try to Blog to get rich, you’re going to find it more difficult to get yourself motivated. It has to be something that motivates you, you will run out of ideas really quickly if you’re just doing it to be “cool”. You have to be true to you.

2. QUALITY VS QUANTITY OVER QUANTITY VS QUALITY

I think this one is entirely personal and yet is so hard to choose. You are putting your writings out there and you want people to read them. So this is one of the questions I ask myself, is this any good? If you want people to see your writing, there’s not much point if there’s not much effort behind. Sometimes you’ll find you’ll write a Blog one day that you think is fantastic and then the next day hate it. You don’t have to put it out there, maybe it save it for another day. There’s some Blogs out there that also might be “suited” for different social media platforms. It is an entirely personal decision, but if you are trying to aim your Blog at a certain audience, then you have to make sure that you have the quality from that field.

The Versatile Blogger Award

Rules:

  1. You have to thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog! (Thank you again Words and Tonic ! )
  2.  Link the nominees and inform them about their nomination
  3. Nominate at least 15 bloggers of your choice
  4. Share 7 facts about yourself

Facts about me:

  • When my dog disappeared, and then when we found her. It still makes me worried about how am I going to cope when she’s gone.
  • It scares me how common sense has just flown out the window…Thank God John Oliver is back! Literally scares me.
  • I love to dress up, I have got so many wigs. I would love to get into Cosplay, but I get worried that if it takes off…Then what?
  • Biologically I am the oldest sibling, but no one believes it…Including myself.
  • I have family members who are alcoholics, so it’s definitely made me more aware, but it doesn’t stop me from drinking either.  However, I have recently noticed that around some groups of people I drink either more or less.
  • I consider myself a realist ideal, so while I like to dream how I want the world to be, I am very aware of how it actually is.
  • Even though I am an adult I still enjoy watching cartoons. I have no problem with just watching a cartoon and instead of having to think and worry, like the more adult and grown up shows. It lets me relax and not think so much.  Sometimes one needs to ground themselves and just relax.

Nominees:

I have decided that I am just going to list nominees for both awards up above. Please don’t feel pressured to do it either.

Thank you … Part 2 … My Online life

Last week I promised myself that I was going to think at least 80% positively for the week and I have to say that I think I did really well. I was probably more 70%, but it was still a good number! I think that we are finally getting that first Spring weather is helping me a lot to think more positively. I am not a Winter person at all!

*Warning…Long post incoming*

Part of my positive thinking was saying thank you my local Chemist (as seen here: Thank you … My Local Chemist) and I thanked them for help they had given me during my time when I developed an odd form of anxiety.

This week I would LOVE to say thank you to my “online life” and the people I’ve met via the Internet.

I don’t think many people realise the amazingly positive impact that they’ve had on me through my online life. This includes people who I interact with via WordPress, my Safari Live family, sometimes Instagram etc. I have met someone awesome incredibly people on these sites, who have helped me expand my mind, shocked me (in a good way) and have become more a part of my daily life and probably know me better than even my real life ‘life’ people.

It’s introduced me to a world of people who think the same way as me, who will allow people in and out of their lives based on what’s on the inside rather than the outside, or what they want people to perceive them as. I was at a point in my life where I was SO tired of losing “friends” because I didn’t want to pretend anymore, because I wanted to fight for things, rather than swear all the time and be a certain way (I swear people told me I should swear more because a certain girl they want to sleep with swears…a lot) I was tired of feeling like a bad person because people would literally tell me I should be more like “Girl A, or Girl B” or had to impress people to make life easier for themselves. I had someone tell me once I shouldn’t wear headbands, so now I wear them all the time when they’re around…I think my headbands are gorgeous!

I was tired of the same dramas I have been involved since High School, especially when I’m supposed to be in my 30’s and all the people still doing the drama’s are in their 30’s.

This is what you all brought me, you brought me a family that accepted me as one of your own, because of what I already bring, not what you think I can bring, or what you *think* I should bring.  You actually like having me around, for me ❤ I’m not sure you will ever understand how much freedom you have all give me, how much power you have given back to me.
