They won against Fox! Yay!!! For the first time in a while, I feel good.

I did see this article “‘Dominion wins but the public loses’: Fox settlement avoids paying the highest price“.

I don’t agree with it though. I think the people who have always known and seen the impact of Fox, know what Fox/Murdoch are capable of. There’s far too much ‘noise’ for the other side to actually listen to what Fox/Murdoch have done. Those people need a total blackout to other news, before they hear it.

I won my battle

Oh my goodness, I was so proud of myself over the past weekend.

In case the Murdoch gossip rags hadn’t let you all know, after Salman Rushdie was stabbed. Other authors received death threats, as well. The most well knows was you-know-who. The lovely Joanne Harris, author of Chocolat. Asked other authors who else had received death threats. She made mention of a friend of hers, who had received an odd death threat only the day before, Salman Rushdie’s.

(By the way, did you all hear that the guy who stabbed him. He only read two pages of “The Satanic Verses,”) What a ninny!

Anyway, for some reason only known to themselves, the entire transphobic cult, decided that Joanne Harris mocking Rowling, and was trying to silence her…By asking the question, which authors had received death threats.

Apparently they have already tried to get Joanne Harris, sacked. For being part of a letter that supported trans people. Joanne Harris is the Director, for the Society of Authors, and a popular one two boot.

I actually follow Joanne Harris on the Insta. I don’t know where she lives, but her photos are magical. So when it first happened, I actually argued with the TERFs. I had no idea what they were talking about, because this all went down on Twitter. From what I read though, they all thought Harris was mocking Rowling. I know what about, but, they would never admit it.

This past weekend, I liked another one of her pictures and there were a couple of TERFS harassing her again. Instead of “arguing” with them, I just blocked them instead. It was SO hard to not respond, because it’s all so stupid. But that’s why I didn’t. Because it is all SO stupid. These are all “grown adults” harassing a woman for asking her fellow authors, what kind of death threats they got.

For the last two-three years, the Rowling Cult, have been going on and on and on and on…about how Rowling gets 10’s of death threats a day. Yet, when they show you the “death threats”, they’re crude, yes, but not threats, let alone death ones. A couple of times I’ve asked when are the court cases, because death threats are serious. There’s never been one…and Rowling seems to have actually gotten an legitimate death threat.

So I’m thinking, the reason why they’re accusing Harris of “mocking” Rowling, is because…

“Winning”

Someone may want to remind Trump, he lost. He seems to have forgotten that. TEAM USA won Bronze, Trump just lost. Oh, that’s Bronze ie THIRD, in the world.

“They should replace the wokesters with Patriots and start winning again,” Trump fumed. Where are the “Patriots” winning? The only way they’re “winning” is because the Republican Party and Trump take NO responsibility. But they’re not actually “winning” Like, we can all see how the Republicans are losing their strong hold in the US. They’re just a bunch of whiners really.

And what is Rowling trying to “win”? Winning at being the country whose the most discriminatory towards trans people?

What is it with bigoted people and saying “winning” all the time? What is it they *think* they’re winning exactly?

If they’re in to “win” at being the most horrible people on the planet, sure. Give them the gold medal.

An Accidental Win!

I know that we all have our favourites, that we rarely deviate from. Have you ever though, accidentally discovered, something you just now REALLY love. When you want you usually love, got messed with up with something else?

After readings Sparks from a Combustible Mind blog, on Five Things Tuesday – Burgers, and after my telling them about yummy discovery, when my quarter pound was accidentally swapped for a Big Mac. It made me wonder, this can’t just possibly happen to me?

I read something today that I thought was the most brilliant response to somebodies questions of “What’s the point of trying to Impeach Trump, when you know you’re going to lose anyway?”.

This persons response with a very famous Christian author’s response, who wrote a very popular novel and movie. I’m going to post the persons’s and authors quote:

Do you do the right thing because it’s right, or because you think you’ll win?

Do you know who the author was? I’ll only give one clue, they’re dead now, but they’re novels were turned into movies in present day and it become beloved again.

But the above quote is also true. It’s kind of along the lines of “Just because your friends are jumping off the edge of the cliff, does that mean you have too as well?”.

I also think though that Trump and Co’s reaction prove themselves that they are hiding something.

Wins and Losses

Not a long Blog today, mainly because I did not sleep well at all last night…But I did see what happened in America today.

It may not have all gone to perfectly plan. But I felt like it was still a Win. Rourke may not have Win, but oh my goodness! Did you all see how well he did?! In such a Deep Red State as Texas! I mean, I feel like it was impressive…and now it leaves him free to be President! Even the Texans who voted for Cruz (god knows why, no one likes him!) Noticed it was too close to feel safe!

Might not feel like it, but that’s a good thing! It shows that things are changing! Even in a State like Texas.

On top of that though, Democrats won the House! Most excellent news! Which means that the Democrats can put things forward, like getting Trump to FINALLY release his Taxes. They can do so much more now! It’s wonderful!

I do not understand though how someone like Brian Kemp can run the election, when he’s running in it? That I really do not understand. The other things that are coming out now. About Gerrymandering and Jim Crow, there not being enough power cords for machines or paper ballots…It’s happening, change is happening!

So now I go to bed, but the time you all see this I will have hopefully been asleep for a few hours! Couple of hours until I have to get up for work…But you did good America, despite the losses…You did good!

(I’ve also never heard of Scott Walker, apparently – bad man – good to be gone)

Win Days!

I was thinking about this today, how often do we have a “Win” day. By this I mean, how many days do we have that turn out a LOT better than they had started or how we anticipated them? I had one of those today and I really wanted to talk to my partner about it, but then I felt I was bragging…and there was nothing to “brag” about. It was just a day that turned out really well. Despite how I thought it was going to be.

Then when we do have them, I don’t know about others. I want to share with anyone and everyone I meet how well everything went. Then I get all embarrassed and nothing really that exciting happened, it just went well.

How often do they happen really though? Especially on those days when you think it’s just going to go all bad? We should celebrate those days, even if we have to celebrate by ourselves.

Getting to know the Blogger…Part 4

I just wanted to say that I hope you’ve been enjoying these “Getting to know me Blogs” as much as I’ve been enjoying writing them! Here we go with the last week…

76. Regularly burn incense?
    I have actually been getting more into burning incense and the like. Since I developed an anxiety condition last year, just meditation and calming my mind has been helping and I’ve been really improving. Maybe “getting more into burning…” Isn’t the greatest description in the world.
77. Who would you like to see in concert?
    I would love to see Bruno Mars, but he’s very unlikely to come to my little town.
78. Hot tea or cold tea? 
    Hot tea, I’m not even honestly sure that I’ve had even had cold tea. Apart from iced tea…with whip cream!
79. Tea or coffee? 
    Oh lordy…How can one choose?! I drink both, however, in some situations I will only drink one during certain times. For example, when I’m sick or have the flu, I will only drink tea as when I’m sick, I can’t stand coffee. I don’t even drink coffee to try and stay awake, I drink coffee as treat almost.
80. Sugar cookies or snickerdoodles?
    I have no idea what a snickerdoodle is, so I’d have to go with sugar cookies.
81. Can you swim well? 
    I can alright, but I’m not ready for the English channel or anything like that.
82. Can you hold your breath without holding your nose? 
    *tries* Yes, I can! It looks less stupid than when holding it. (Ditto,lol)
83. Are you patient? 
    It’s actually one of the things people know the most about me, how patient I can be, when most others would lose it. It’s a trick between not taking things personally and not actually caring. Especially when it comes to work and I know it’s nothing that I’ve stuffed up.
84. DJ or band at a wedding?
    I’d prefer a DJ just because then you can make requests for the original song, rather than someone trying to cover a song. However, I think having a band would look really classy. I’ve been to a funeral where a duo decided to dedicate a song that the deceased really like, and they sounded terrible. I felt it was so disrespectful, the person didn’t like the song because YOU sung it, they liked because the person they liked, sang it. I don’t know, it’s always felt really wrong to me.
85. Ever won a contest?
    No, I’ve had some luck though with my works lottery group. We sometimes win 30-40 bucks here and there…Enough for another ticket.
86. Ever had plastic surgery?
    No, I’m pretty okay with my body. The only thing I wish I could change is that my teeth would be a little whiter. Not stupidly blinding white, but just a little whiter. It’d also look really cool because the two herbivore teeth that are usually next to the two big ones, mine are missing, they just never grew threw. So my teeth look like vampire teeth, and I love it.
87. Which are better, black or green olives?
    I don’t really love Olives, I’d rather not have them…If I had to choose I’d go with the green ones.
88. Can you knit or crochet?
    I can’t really do either, I haven’t crochet in a while, so I’d probably have to restart and relearn.
89. Best place for a fireplace?
    If I could have a dream place for a fireplace, I would have it in a library type room, probably off from the main living area. In a medium sized room, so the air doesn’t get all smokey.
90. Do you want to get married?
    Only to the right person.
91. If married, how long have you been married?
    N/A
92. Who was your HS crush?
    Oh I had a lot…I didn’t date any of them, I was way to shy to actually ask. I had a lot though.
93. Do you cry and throw a fit until you get your own way? 
    Umm…No, I’m not even sure I did that as a kid. Apparently I used to only throw fits when I was constrained, like when I was put into a seat belt. I hated to be constrained, still do.
94. Do you have kids?
    I am furbaby Aunty and step mama. My brothers dog is technically his, since he’s the whole reason he got her. Only a couple of months after we got her though, he moved to Melbourne and left her with us. My partners cat is actually his ex’s cat, but when they split up, she said to hold onto him for a year and if she didn’t come back, my partner could keep him. She wanted to travel, and his had the cat for about 3 or 4 years now.
95. Do you want kids?
    No right now, there’s still a lot to get settled first. I would prefer to be married first as well.
96. What’s your favorite color?
    The toughest question. I love Yves Saint Laurent’s Babouche yellow. Yes, I chose a nail polish color, they are ever so precise.
97. Do you miss anyone right now?
    Wherever I am, I always miss my mum and my dog, or if I’m with them, I miss my partner and his cat. Don’t tell anyone I said this, but if I could, I would actually live with all of them, my mum, my partner and the cat and the dog. I’d be very happy.Even though Pippy and Travie would probably kill each other. As long as it was a big enough house to give us all enough space.
98. Who is your favorite author?
    At the moment my favourite author is Jodi Picoult. I think I have literally every single one of her books and I would highly recommend them. Especially if you are a person that likes to look at how other people think.
99. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
    I actually really like the city where I live, home is where the heart is. As mentioned above though, I would just love a really huge house. Where I could live with whoever, but also enough room for visitors. Maybe somewhere near a beach. Should be easy…right?

 

Instagram

I have joined the world of “Instagram”…It’s not so much I’ve “given in”, it’s more than I can win gift vouchers on there for the clothing stores that I am really in love with.

Instagram is so much different from all the other social media sites out there because you are pretty much trying to express yourself through pictures and photos. I am not an expert photographer so it’s making for an interesting time. I’ve gotten a few followers and have no idea how to get more, so any advice would help me out so much. I’m not sure if the more followers you have, the more chance you have at winning competitions.
