Nurt Thursday – Courage to Walk
I have to warn you all that I am going to make this personal, however if you can relate, that makes it even better!
When I had my massive panic attack last year, and when I came back from the hospital. I basically stayed on the couch, day and night for the next two days. I had never been so scared in my life…But…I got up again…I didn’t want to be on the couch anymore, I wanted to get up again…I did not want to be on the couch for the rest of my life…I didn’t want too…
The most satisfying and most empowering moment that I’ve had in my recent life is when I walked out the front door and sat in the park near my partners house. For the next month or so, every extra step was a personal triumph! When I went inside to the cake near my partners house and waited in line with strangers to buy a cannoli…Amazing! There is a lot of truth to
“The first step is the hardest” But you can!
I have an Instagram account … I will probably be going to back to Lady Lolsy by the way…I typed Lady Lolly into Google and there’s another Lady Lolly out there…I think she’s an adult film actress.
Anyways…On my Instagram account I have taken up walking and making stories, while I’m walking on Instagram. I’ve been usually doing them on Friday nights after work, but it all depends on when I’m working. This week I’m not working (so far) on the Friday. However, I find that these stories I do encourage me to go walking anyways. So I will be keeping up with them. If you click on the link above to can follow me. If you don’t have an Instagram account, you can see my pictures but I don’t think you can see the stories?
Let’s Get Walking!
Share Your World…November 13, 2017
Do you ever sit on a park bench for more than ten minutes?
I actually have been lately. I never used to, if I went for a walk I’d just … well … walk … Lately I’ve been sitting down and just watching the world go by. I’m lucky in that where my partner lives there’s a man-made pond park. All these different types of birds come to it and there’s a cafe looking out over it as well. All within a minutes walk. Lately, when the weather gets cooler in the evening, I got about a 40 minute walk which now includes sitting down for about 10 minutes and just sitting down and watching the birds do what they do.
When you lose electricity in a storm, do you light the candles, turn on the flashlight or use your cell phone for light?
We mainly use candles and our cell phones (mainly when we go to the toilet). Recently though I’ve bought battery operated candles and fans, because the last time we had a blackout. We got really warm and we didn’t have many candles. We were honestly nearly naked by the end, it just got so warm!
Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use or $100,000 to give anonymously to strangers?
Oh no, this is really terrible of me, I would keep it for my own use. I might give a bit to a cause that I want to (probably some animal rescue place). I am not rich enough yet to give up that kind of money!
What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
Well we got the “Yes” vote for Same Sex Marriage this week…It has been amazing and I have seen little bits and changes towards there being more love in the world. Not just in Australia but all over the world. More people becoming aware of bad and good. Less people and companies putting up with hate and just plain remembering some plain common sense.
