Social media has done ‘extraordinary damage’ to democracy, public health, safety: Expert

They do actually have a transcript of the conversation. Reading through, I got slightly annoyed

Negative news, triggers fight or flight, so it makes people pay attention to it. Whereas good news, doesn’t have that kind of affect.

The third problem is one of incentives. And this is the one that’s killing us because there is no reason from an economic perspective why these companies should look out for the safety of their users, much less protecting the country’s national interest. Right now the incentives are for them to make as much money as they can as quickly as they can and not worry about the consequences. And until that changes, I don’t think there’s a chance we’re going to do anything good about this.

I would highly recommend reading this, or watching the video. Even though you all know what’s going on in the Universe. It is sometimes nice just to hear someone with clear intelligence, say it.

Silly Songs

So, do you have any songs that either make you giggle, or make you laugh in some way? Like that time you realised that song was not called “Dear Diary” It is, in fact, called “Dear Darlin'”.

Or that time that you remember which song you wanted at your funeral. Even though, it is just so not you at all.

Or that you were “white girl rapping”. Even though you have never lived in the hoods, let alone American hoods. You can totally relate, right?

Thursday Theory…But facts…Titanic

It always a little “much” that first week of a New Year. I came across this video, that is you’re a basic History “buff” like myself, you might find this a little interesting.

Titanic, in full Royal Mail Ship (RMS) Titanic, British luxury passenger liner that sank on April 14–15, 1912, during its maiden voyage, en route to New York City from Southampton, England, killing about 1,500.

Thursday Theories – The Grim Reaper: Bad or Good?

Let’s talk about the Grim Reaper. I feel like it was a good theory for around Halloween time.

The poor Grim Reaper, they probably have the worst job in history. They can’t help that their only job is to essentially “end life”. Its a important job and someone has to do it. Can you imagine if no one ever died, and we just kept living. What a horrific life that would be! It wouldn’t even be a “life” really. You’d have like 50 people to a house, a virus could come and go, but you still suffer.

What do you think though? Is the Grim Reaper just a misunderstood creature, who actually has the most important job on the planet? Like the below video says, the Grim Reaper doesn’t actually do the “killing”, the Grim Reaper is just there to “help” guide you as you die.

I actually think it’s kind of nice for someone to be there, even if they don’t really say a word too you.
