Have a Happy Day

I’m not sure what to write here today.

I have never personally been a huge Valentine’s Day, single or in a relationship. Honestly, the best Valentine’s I have had, are when I’m single and I’ve gotten together with other single friends. So I’ve never really been inspired to write anything “romantical”. Honestly, I was put off of Valentine’s Day by an ex friend of mine. But that shouldn’t stop putting anyone off, buying me books =D Just saying, lol. I am spending my Valentines, looking after an injured partner…I love you, you total duffa, lol

I just hope every day has a little bit of goodness in it for you ❤ Even on the bad ones.

Today, I have made up boxes for the neighbours who helped search for Travie. I actually did want to do something like this, when we got him back. But you know, life, lol. Think about doing something a little different this year for Valentines Day. Also I just really like our neighbours, they are lovely. Very chatty (which I am not) but very lovely.

Personally, I’m more a fan of the dark and miserable romances, where they don’t really end up “together”. You know sometimes I think something is wrong with me, lol

Not Valentines Day…

My partner and I have decided this year not to spend money on each other this year. What with him buying a new house and my dentist spending. Neither of us want to spend any money. Valentines is just not very “cost-effective” at the moment. Although my partners birthday is at the end of Feb. What I have been doing is researching into cost-effective ways for not only if you’re in a couple, but hey, there’s nothing wrong with spreading some self love too.

There’s one idea that I have, that I will share. I was ooh and arring with do I share. But I will, because you all might want it to do yourselves too.

  1. One plan I have, is that I have love heart shaped post it notes. Since I’m working tomorrow, I was going to randomly write quotes and then leave them around in different places. Not necessarily just at work, but since I’ll be travelling by bus. Just literally leaving them in random places.
  2. Of course if you grow your own flowers. Really making sure that you have some pretty flowers to either pick for yourself, a loved one or a partner.
  3. Making a nice dinner,  instead of buying. That’s my plan for this evening. I just have no idea what I’m making!lol. I was going to make a lasagna from scratch, but now I’m working all day.
  4. One thing that I used to love to do when I was single was watch my favourite “romance” movies – “Moulin Rouge” “Phantom of the Opera”. With bad food, so your pizza, maybe McDonalds, KFC.

QUESTIONS:

What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?

It depends what the week has been like to be honest. It’s been a busy week, I do not want to do a thing. I just want to play games and read. If it’s been a quiet week, then I want to get out and about. Even if it’s just to do the grocery shopping, I just need to get out. I am a homebody but even I go stir crazy if I stay inside too long.

Who do you admire most in the world?

I admire a lot of people, it’d be hard to bring it down to just one person. I’ve been finding over the last couple of years that it’s all about the quality, not the quantity.

What do you regret not doing?

I don’t know how honest I should be, because I’m happy now and I don’t honestly consider any of my exs as the ones “who got away”…because I am now with “the one”. There was one guy years ago, I used to wonder “What if I had” and wish that I had. I’m not sure if I “regret”, more had wished sometimes I had taken a different path, and then glad I didn’t, because I’m happy now. I do regret not walking away from some people sooner, but then maybe I wouldn’t be where I am now.

If you see a puddle on the ground, do you walk around it or over/in it?

Wooo, good question! I had to actually think about it. I am pretty sure that I try to go over it. If it’s too big, I obviously go around, but most of the time I try to go over. Probably because I’m headed straight and am just focusing on going straight.

This week, instead of gratitude/thankful for question(s), I’m asking romantic, squishy booby hug, possibly sappy and overly sugary QUESTIONS about love:

If you have an S.O. or spouse,  how do you know that they want to make love, without them saying a word?

He tends to just come up behind me and “bumps” me,lol…He has a sensitive stomach, so when he can bump his stomach…Usually means he’d like to do the deed, lol

What’s the most romantic gesture your lover has ever done for you?

In all honesty it was in the middle of the night and I was having an anxiety attack, and he could feel me trying to get myself together and he kept asking me if I was alright. I just felt like I couldn’t speak, so he just hugged/cuddled me and I just melted, lol.

What items would your romantic dinner for two contain?

Probably something completely different from each other, lol.

Does your lover make your heart pound and your pulses race or is it a more comfortable together, I’m so glad (s)he is with me kind of thing?   Do they make your heart melt?

He just makes me happy, especially when I can make him smile. I love it when I can get him to smile. He makes my heart happy.

Valentines Day (another one)

Here comes another obligatory Valentines Day post. Let’s make it a short one hey since I have to go out and do the whole “Valentines’ Day” date thing.

Saint Valentine’s Day, also known as Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine. A holiday observed on February 14th each year. It is celebrated in many countries around the world, although it is not a  public holiday in most of them.

I personally have never been a big fan of the day, I have never actually had a good one.

The last ex, we weren’t really dating at the time of Valentines Day. One before him, he started off good, then after work he forgot to come back and I found out that he had cheated on me on the same day too. The one before him we broke up on the last Valentines Day we were together and the year before that his friends ate my present and he never replaced it, I also had to spend all night with them too. The boyfriend before that lived overseas, so we were never together for the day any-ways.

So pretty much, as long as my teacher doesn’t cheat on me, or eat my present, he doesn’t really have a lot that he has to worry about to be honest, and we’ve had a good laugh about it. As he has also had nothing but disasters.

When I’ve been single on Valentine’s Day I have gotten together with either my Mum or a few single girlfriends (or friends) and gone out to dinner and movies ourselves and that was just as lovely, I have once felt alone on a Valentines Day.

Whatever you end up doing, or don’t end up tonight, don’t worry about it. It’s just another day and lets be honest, if you need one day to have romance in your life with your partner, man that would just suck! Romance should be all of the time (well maybe not ALL the time, but hopefully more than once a year!).
