March the 31st is Tran Days of Visibility!

During this week, on my Twitch Stream Channel. When I’ve been offline I’ve been hosting trans gender/sexual Twitch streamers that I follow.

Just be kind ya know? Like the entire LGBTQIA umbrella have fought their lives and for their rights. It’s tiring, just be kind. It’s really NOT that hard.

Thursday FACTS – Trans gender History (Pt2)

When I left my last post, I was talking about the ancient History of trans gender people and I left off with

Troy-Anthony also told The Hook Up that Aboriginal people suppressed or hid their sexuality as a survival mechanism after Christianisation and colonisation.

I did that on purpose, hehe … I did it, because today what this LONG post is going to be about, is the more modern History to trans gender History. I left it off with that quote, because like a LOT of other groups of people. Christianity and colonisation did a lot of bad things to good people. But included in that, are also the Nazi’s…

The Nazi’s…Are you shocked and surprised?

Before I do that though, I want to apoligise for using the term trans gender people in my previous. Trans gender is actually a modern term. The reason I’m apoligising though, is because a lot of transphobes will that trans gender people weren’t called trans gender as some sort of “proof” that trans people just didn’t exist.

Back to the Nazi’s

Institut für Sexualwissenschaft

On May 6, 1933, Nazi demonstrators raided the libraries of the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft, a German name that roughly translates to the Institute of Sexology. The Institute was a privately operated research space for studies of human sexuality. More than 20,000 books were taken from shelves and burned days later in the streets by Nazi youth groups.

It was a devastating blow to the life’s work of Magnus Hirschfeld, the institute’s founder. Hirschfeld, who was Jewish and gay, was a pioneer for rights and liberation in Berlin’s thriving LGBTQ community

LGBTQ Institute in Germany Was Burned Down by Nazis

BY LUCY DIAVOLO SEPTEMBER 20, 2017

In 1973, a new Institut für Sexualwissenschaft was opened at the University of Frankfurt am Main (director: Volkmar Sigusch), and 1996 at the Humboldt University of Berlin.

The West German courts found that the foundation’s dissolution and the seizure of property by the Nazis in 1934 was legal. The West German legislature also retained the Nazi amendments to Paragraph 175, making it impossible for surviving gay men to claim restitution for the destroyed cultural center.

But you know being trans, being gay is a “fad”.

In 1885 the Criminal Law Act was passed in the UK, which made all homosexual ‘behaviour’ illegal. One of the first public trials for transvestite behaviour was that of Ernest (Stella) Boulton, and Fred (Fanny) Park, arrested in 1870 for indecent behaviour. The authorities based the prosecution on their transvestism and their soliciting of men as women, rather than the act of sodomy. No conviction could be obtained on these grounds and were acquitted of the charge of conspiracy to commit a felony by cross-dressing. One of the largest organisations for transvestite men in the US today is the Boulton and Park Society.

Fanny and Stella

Throughout the 1920s and 30s medical provision was rare, but transsexual people managed to find doctors who would help them. At Hirschfield’s infamous clinic, the first sex change operations were performed by Dr Felix Abraham: a mastectomy on a trans man in 1926, a penectomy on his domestic servant Dora in 1930, and a vaginoplasty on Lili Elbe, a Danish painter, in 1931. Lily died less than two years later from complications.

In the UK, Michael (formerly Laura) Dillon managed to obtain gender reassignment treatment during the war. In the late 1940s he even had a penis constructed by the plastic surgeon Sir Harold Gilles, who later became famous for his work with burns victims. Michael Dillon trained and worked as a ship’s doctor until he was outed by the Sunday Express in 1958. He withdrew to India where he became a Buddhist monk and writer until his death.

April Ashley – April Ashley: Model, actress and trans trailblazer dies aged 86

Ashley became only the second Briton to undergo male-to-female gender reassignment surgery, in 1960. She had the operation in Casablanca, Morocco, and later said becoming a woman made her the happiest she had ever been. Once back in England, she obtained a passport and driving licence which identified her as female.

She was later photographed for British Vogue and appeared opposite Joan Collins in the film Road to Hong Kong.

Ashley was made an MBE in 2012 for her campaigning work for the transgender community.

Again, April Ashley was not well known to be transgender, and in 1961 her career was cut short, when she was outed. However, she carried on. So NO, you can’t “always” tell.

There is only one day left to make your voice heard and ban conversion therapy in the UK. To find out why this consultation is so important, head over to the Mermaids website where you’ll find information, survivor stories and more.

I hope, one can see over the two posts that being trans is not new, nor is it a modern fad. Most of what transphobic people say, is as we say “recycled” homophobia. Meaning, that what’s happening now to trans people, is what has also happened to the gay community. Especially times from the 80’s and 90s. Some of the people right now who talk about

“Its a fad. They’ll grow out of it”.

“How can you have children”

“Trans people are mainly predators”.

I wish that I could find it, but someone posted two news article from the same newspaper, a couple of decades apart. Apart from the word homosexual and trans, it was all pretty similar, derogatory wise.

Thursday Theories – Trans “Ideology”

This is probably one of the last times I am going to talk about this. Because all too often “people” call being trans a “ideology”. This same people are normally always from a Religion … which makes me

Also, it is very EASY and simple to find out about trans History. It’s not that difficult. So either, you don’t want to know because you love being a bigot, or you just really don’t care what trans people have to go through.

Literally the first time I wanted to learn, so I went to Google and put in trans, History.

There is no excuse under the sun, to NOT go and have a look. IF you care, if you don’t care. Then yeah, maybe MTG is a reliable “source” Also though…No.

So here as some Facts:

We’ll start with where the term comes from.

1897 – Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld founds the first gay liberation organization in Germany: the Scientific Humanitarian Committee.

1907 – Magnus Hirschfeld is introduced to Harry Benjamin.

1910 – Magnus Hirschfeld coins the terms ‘transvestite’ and ‘transsexual’.

1919 – Magnus Hirschfeld becomes one of sexology’s founding fathers when he opens the world’s first sexological institute, the Institute for Sexual Science in Berlin. It becomes the first clinic to serve transgender people on a regular basis.

1949 – Harry Benjamin begins to treat transgender individuals in San Francisco with hormones.

1)The Gala (Sumerian: 𒍑𒆪 galaAkkadiankalû) were priests of the Sumerian goddess Inanna. They made up a significant number of the personnel of both temples and palaces, the central institutions of Mesopotamian city states. These were thought in modern times to have been individuals with neither male nor female gender identities.  In addition, some gala priests were women.

2) Because the galli castrated themselves and wore women’s clothing, accessories and makeup, some modern scholars have interpreted them as transgender.[Firmicus Maternus said “they say they are not men… they want to pass as women.” He elaborated, “Animated by some sort of reverential feeling, they actually have made this element [air] into a woman [Caelestis, the goddess]. For, because air is an intermediary between sea and sky, they honor it through priests who have womanish voices.”

3) Roman emperor Elagabalus (d. 222) preferred to be called a lady (rather than a lord), sought sex reassignment surgery, and has been seen as an early trans figure

4) Today, at least half a million hijras live in India and another half million in Bangladesh, legally recognized as a third gender, and many trans people are accepted in Thailand. In Arabia, khanith today (like earlier mukhannathun) fulfill a third gender role attested since the 600s. In Africa, many societies have traditional roles for trans women and trans men, some of which survive in the modern era amid recent widespread hostility. In the Americas prior to European colonization, as well as in some contemporary North American Indigenous cultures, there are social and ceremonial roles for third gender people, or those whose gender expression transforms, such as the Navajo nádleehi or the Zuni lhamana.

5) In colonial America, Thomas(ine) Hall in the 1600s adopted clothes and roles of both men and women, while in 1776 the genderless Public Universal Friend arose.

Trans people have literally been in EVERY SINGLE CULTURE. Including those who knew nothing about the other cultures. Does that REALLY sound a ideology? Its not like Christianity, where certain Cultures and certain races of people embraced it and then ENFORCED it on others. In NO culture though, have they even been close to the majority. Just like the LGB community, they are not the majority.

WHAT IS TRANS HISTORY? From Activist and Academic Roots, a Field Takes Shape : Kritika Agarwal | May 1, 2018

So to the Christians, and any other Religions that persecute and harass trans people. If your Gods makes no mistakes, why would YOU call trans people a mistake? Maybe trans people are here to TEACH YOU a lesson? For once, it might actually be about you, lol. But you’re learning all the wrong lessons.

It’s perfectly fine to not understand. What is not fine is to just dismiss trans people, despite trans people being around before your “perfect, who makes no mistakes” creator. Especially when you have all this information at your fingertips. There’s no excuse for bigotry in the day and age, it’s just lazy, quiet frankly.

The Science behind the Trans brain

Is actually quiet new. The Nazi’s actually burnt down the first ever LGBT Science center, and a lot of the research was burned with it. (See above).

The Search for a ‘Cause’ of Transness Is Misguided : By Nat Mulkey on March 23, 2021: Scientific America

Most of the investigation into the biological basis of transness has been in the field of neuroscience. Postmortem studies conducted by Dick Swaab of the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience suggested multiple differences in brain structure between transgender and cisgender individuals. These differences seem to indicate that transgender that transgender women and men have brain structures more similar to the brains of cisgender individuals of the same gender identity than cisgender individuals of the gender they were assigned at birth.

More recently, the field has moved from postmortem brain analysis to functional MRI studies. Cisgender men and women have previously been shown to have different brain areas engaged during a spatial-reasoning task. This research team found that both cisgender boys and transgender boys (assigned female at birth and on pubertal suppression therapy) had similar activation patterns during the task, compared to cisgender girls.

An individual should not need to justify their gender identity any more than someone would need to justify their eye color.

Gene variants provide insight into brain, body incongruence in transgender

Date:February 5, 2020

Summary: Some of the first biological evidence of the incongruence transgender individuals experience, because their brain indicates they are one sex and their body another, may have been found in estrogen receptor pathways in the brain of 30 transgender individuals.

Transgender brains are more like their desired gender from an early age

Date:May 24, 2018

Source: European Society of Endocrinology

Summary: Brain activity and structure in transgender adolescents more closely resembles the typical activation patterns of their desired gender, according to new research. The findings suggest that differences in brain function may occur early in development and that brain imaging may be a useful tool for earlier identification of transgenderism in young people.

As you can see, there is more to trans people than what MTG “opinion” of them is.

Do I have to do this again?

The only thing that’s new is the term “trans” itself, that doesn’t mean though they just didn’t exist before then.
