52 Week Grateful Challenge … Week 6

6. The city you live in.

I feel very lucky with the town that I live in. You may sometimes read about one of my pages called Single in a small city? (Please go and have a look) The main theme from that category is that it can sometimes be really tough to date when you live in a small city. You either tend to keep bumping into your ex, or you are definitely friends with people who know them.

However, my city being a small city is part of the reason that I love it as well.

It feels so easy to escape when you want too. You drive from the city (or down town) and in 30 minutes you can be in a totally different place, the country, the river-land, beach towns. Even take my own street, we live a 10 minutes drive from the city (down town) and yet  my street reminds myself and other people have made comments of it reminding them of a little English town street. Even though we live within a walks distance to some of the big entertainment venues in our city, you can’t hear it. It feels cut off from that.

My particular suburb is also in-between three major roads in my city that go into the city, and yet, where I live, you can’t hear the traffic. I honestly just wished that other people lived closer to me because no one else lives in my area but it’s great. We’ve got parks and like I mentioned before we live like a 10 minute drive from the city and just as close to another major shopping centre.

Share Your World …. January2017 Week 4

Share Your World Jan 17…Week 4

*Usually I post this on a Thursday afternoon. I’ve just had so many ideas for post this week, it’s kind of just gotten to Friday instead. All should return to normal next week*

Do you prefer juice or fruit?

Oh wow, this is a good one because I really do love both of them. Especially since it’s Summer here at the moment and during Summer I hate drinking hot drinks and love drinking cold drinks like Juices. I’d probably have to go with fruit though because I can have fruit whenever and there are some pieces of fruit I have all year round. Whereas with Juice, I tend to have to be in the mood to drink it.

Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it?

I grew up in a small town and kind of still down. The capital city that I live in Australia is probably the smallest of the Capital Cities in Australia. Even when I went to Melbourne…Melbourne…I managed to STILL bump into someone from South Australia and not just that…We WORK in the same building!

If you were to paint a picture of your childhood, what colors would you use?

I think it was would be very magically relaxed.  So probably lot of soft colours, probably lavenders, sky blues…Just think of Fairy and Unicorn colours, but nothing harsh.

Ways to Relax List: Make a list of what relaxes you and helps you feel calm.

  • Listening to Celtic music…I just go somewhere with it.
  • I love to colour in, it just helps me focus.
  • A nice long shower, especially if the temperature is right!
  • The Sims 4…It both helps me relax, but it can also stir me up.
  • I love to dress up in costumes and wigs I have around the house, it’s just fun. I never post the pictures, but I do take a lot of them, lol

Share Your World … Week 31

What is your favorite part of the town/city you live in.  And what Country do you live?

I love our beaches, we have this beach town and during the Summer it’s such a vibrant place. I love going there as the sun is setting and just looking out over the ocean, it’s amazing. I could walk down the beach at that time of the day forever.

Would you rather wear clown shoes every day or a clown wig every day?

I would definitely want to wear the clown shoes every day, wigs can get so itchy and really uncomfortable, especially during the warmer weather. The shoes I would probably trip over a couple of times…But I do that already anyways!lol.

Which way does the toilet paper roll go? Over or under?

Always over, over! OVER!

What do you do to make a living or during the day?  If you are retired what mostly occupies your day? Or if you are a student what are you studying?

I work casually, I help students enrol into classes, set up their fees, that kind of work. I’m trying to look for more stable work because I want to move in with my partner and I don’t want to be a burden. The work I do, I love the people I work with, but when the season get quieter, I don’t get as much work. I’m also thinking of having some kind of little on-the-side business, something crafty…I’m still thinking about what to do with that.

Are you usually late, early, or right on time?

I am on time all the time (unless something unforeseen happens) I cannot abide lateness. I think it is just plain rude, the amount of people I’ve met in my life who are late for social events, but never for work. I think it’s a complete respect thing. Saying that though, if you say anything to them about they get really annoyed with you.

If you were or are a writer do you prefer writing short stories, poems or novels?

I do like to write, but it’s more for personal writing. I do all three really. They are just going to be published and no one shall ever see them! =D

Where did you live at age ten?  Is it the same place or town you live now?

I don’t live at the same house now then when I was 10 (did English make my sense?lol) Where I live we have this joke that no matter where you live in my state you will always know someone who knows someone else you know, even though you have never meet each other.

Would you rather be able to fly or breathe under water?

I would rather be able to breathe under water, it’s one of my fears to be drowned alive. Being able to breathe under water would definitely help with that fear, lol

Share Your World – 2015 Week #35

What made you feel good this week?

I suggest you all wander over to Pete’s Pond, when you see a baby elephant rolling around in the mud and water for the first time. It just warms the heart, I could watch it all day … I’m not kidding, I actually use Pete’s Pond and Djuma Cam as a form of “mediation”, it’s fantastic!

For potlucks or parties do you cook it yourself, buy from a grocery store, or pay for catering?

I’m not really a “cook” person. It;s funny really because it’s actually the guys in my family who LOVE to cook. They are always cooking and creating things, whereas I cook mainly to survive. Although sometimes I do love to create but it’s so rare and doesn’t happen to often. However I do try to “create” drinks for parties. Sometimes I’ll do all three!

What is your favorite part of the town/city you live in.  And what Country do you live?

There are so many little hidden treasures in Adelaide, even though Adelaide is comparatively small compared to cities like Sydney and Melbourne, but we have lots of “secret spots”. My favourite place to go though is “Victor Harbor” especially during the Spring and Summer time. It’s this little beach town, when the weather is right, it is perfect! I live in Australia.

Complete this sentence:  My favorite place in the whole world…..

To lie in bed, snuggling up with a good book on a sunny morning with the television on softly in the background.
