I completely forgot that it’s Christmas in July, not Christmas in June.
Halfway through the year already. This is also the same time of year I start putting bits and pieces of money and stuff, away. Saving up for Christmas time. Although, let’s be honest, got to get through Halloween first.
I love Halloween, but I LOVE Christmas and we don’t really celebrate Halloween in Australia. But, it’s sort of becoming a thing here. Which I don’t mind, but don’t tell anyone. Some Australian’s here really don’t like it. Too “American”, but I think, if you do it “right” you can make it Pagan-like.
This last week, has been pretty taxing. I came to a realisation earlier in the week, that everywhere is kind of bad at the moment. I have been struggling to think of topics to write about. And then I reminded myself, I don’t HAVE to post at the same times all the time. Give myself a bit of a break. I have a few new things that I have started, that I’ll be writing about on Friday.
Then the weekend is pretty busy. Australia is voting this weekend! It’s pretty scary, we all thought the other guy was going to win, and then we got this guy and it’s like a little mini-Trump. So although the new guy seems like he’s going to win, we thought the same thing about the last one!
So if I come up with a post, if I don’t, I don’t. I’m not going to stress myself out this week, trying to blog. Because then I risk not enjoying blogging anymore!
Was the weirdest Census, I think that Australia has ever had!
I swear in 99 years they’re going to go, what happened in 2021? It was like it was from some other decade, like the 1950’s. I felt like there was no representation of modern day. There was no questions about LGBTQIA. It was all about are you married, have you had babies, how many hours of unpaid domestic work did you do? lol. I was expecting one question about COVID. I mean that seems pretty relevant. I felt like I was supposed to be putting a apron on at the end.
It was SO weird, even though it’s been recent that gay people can marry. They didn’t have a question if you consider yourself heterosexual, homosexual, lesbian, bi. They did ask if you’re married though. So, although the LGBTQIA can say they’re married, it’s not REALLY a true representation of the married world.
Too top it off, there was not a single question about COVID. There was a question about a medically diagnosed long term health condition. Nothing about were you exposed, did you have COVID. Having COVID isn’t a “dirty” thing to have. Just something, you know? Did you lose your job during COVID? Were you on a special Government payment.
It’s a global pandemic, and there’s nothing that reflects it. Like nothing is going on, lol
I will get to a good saying about Always on Time. But how disrespected do you feel about people who are always late for you! I think it’s the height of rudeness. I used to have a friend, never late for work, but always late for gatherings with family and friends. We lost so many tables, because of her. The funeral I went to last week, my partner got mad at one of his cousins. We didn’t see the guy when the funeral started, we didn’t see his cousin until after the funeral. Then the cousin went onto Facebook and said how much of a sham it was, because they didn’t give priority sitting to family…Well, maybe you had gotten there on time.
I’ll tell you what is never on time, my sciatica, always shows up when I don’t want it too. Like right now. Although, I never want sciatica on time either, lol
I choose to go with the plain questions, as I am not a fan of the Harry Potter author, lol. She makes me feel physically ill.
Would You Rather Live 120 Years That Are Comfortable But Boring, Or Live Half As Long, But Have An Exciting Adventure Packed Life?
I think I would like to live the 120 years, but boring life. Nothing wrong with boring, as long as well though, I live alright into my 120 years. No point if I’m a vegetable or something.
What’s Something That Overwhelms You?
Twitter can sometimes overwhelm me. I start to realise after a bit, that I am just on it a bit TOO much. Then when I hop off of it, I feel so much better and then for the first couple of weeks, I don’t really go on…Then something always sucks me back in.
What Do or DID You Take For Granted?
I try not too, and I can’t remember the last time I did. But I think the thing I take mostly for granted is probably time. It has a lot to do with fear. Fear of myself, fear that I will fail. I guess in that way I take time for granted, no one is guaranteed the next day. I really have to get over my fears.
Gratitude: Please feel free to share some gratitude moments or thoughts you’ve had recently. This section is entirely optional.
How can someone win a gold star (i.e. win your approval and/or admiration) with you?
Honestly, just being kind, and having some common sense these days. I have a post scheduled later today and I write about the insane day I just had. Kindness and Common sense just seem like such easy things to do, but they seem so difficult for a lot of people.
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
To be honest, I might end up wasting it. I’m probably taking this to out of the box. If we all didn’t have to sleep, would there would places you could go at night? Kind of like New York, my town there’s not much to do at night.
Do you have a favourite type of exercise?
I love to dance. I try to do it as often as I can these days, mainly around the house. But still dancing.
Do you sleep with a top sheet? Why or why not?
Even during Summer sometimes I will sleep with a top sheet. I think that my body doesn’t regulate too well. A lot of the times in Australia a lot of people will either leave their air-conditioning, or they will put the fans on. I cannot begin to tell you how many times, IN SUMMER. I have had to put winter pjs on because it’s so cold! It’s ridiculous! I still think it’s how you get summer colds, going from one extreme temperature to another.
This is your space to write about anything you’d like. I’m GRATEFUL for your participation in Share Your World, so there’s the “gratitude” hook.
I am grateful that my readers on WordPress give me such sanity in a crazy world!
I have seen a lot of people saying that their Democratic candidate isn’t getting enough talking time, mainly Yang and Tulsi “gangs.” Here’s the thing though, what do they do to deserve the time? They’re not top candidates, they are right at the bottom. At this point, I’m still surprised that they’re trying to run at this point.
If you are a Yang Gang or Tulsi Gang, what do you think they have to offer that the others don’t? I’m not sure what they have. There are a lot of worthy candidates out there, what is it about these two, that make go crazy? I don’t want to hear anything derogatory towards other Candidates.
I making a promise to myself to stay at least one hour off of social media, every day. No flicking through, no even checking messages. A full one hour off. You don’t have to do it too, but I suggest everyone do it. I noticed that even when I don’t intend to go on, I go on to check notifications and messages, and then I get trapped.
It’s funny in a way, I started to write this Blog post and scheduled it a couple of weeks ago. Every time I came back to it, I couldn’t remember the initial thought I had to write this, but everything around the world…This is my current mood. I think it’s a lot of people’s mood right now.
Fighting for/within ourselves, fighting for each other, fighting against each other.
It’s time to recharge and be kind to ourselves!
Take the time:
Have a cup of tea
Buy that thing you know you want (as long as you’ve got the money and it wont make you bankrupt).
Dance like no one is watching.
Read a good book. Whether that’s an old book or a new one!
Play a favourite game!
I know it’s tempting to reach for that piece of chocolate…Reach for the Fruit instead!
