Thursday Theories – When JKRowling tweets, a little more of Harry Potter dies.

And, honestly, I don’t think she cares.

I swear, every time she tweets something, a little more the Harry Potter world dies.

This time she threatened to sue someone because they made fun of a direct quote that she said herself. The quote “I ignored porn directed at children”.

What #JKRowlingignores :

Child Porn…Hahaha

Her #FantasticsBeasts Director being charged with sexual assault.

Every single trans person’s and pro-trans voice.

#MoaningMyrtle just hanging out in the boys bathroom.

When the people she follows threatens women and the females in their families with rape, and threaten to beat up trans youth…Like me.

What #JKRowling doesn’t ignore:

Being directly quoted.

I’ve never been a huge Harry Potter fan, didn’t mind it, but this lady is a massive LotR fan. For years now though, people who like HP, readers I admire and respect. Have been talking about Rowling problematic issues, from who the Goblins in the bank are meant to be, to Cho Chang -.- , to did she steal HP from another story.

Years Before J.K. Rowling Controversy, Harry Potter’s Cho Chang Was Allegedly Asked To Deny Racist Backlash

Read the Worst Witch series and then Groosham Grange. A little funny story about this too. I was looking for the book it was copied from. A woman said “Well Rowling couldn’t have read it, because her child was in a stroller at the time she was writing HP, and so she wouldn’t have have read her a book that was for 8-10 years old. I happily pointed out her that “The Worst Witch” was first published out in 1975, Rowling was born in 1964. Rowling would have been 9 when this award winning book came out. Also, I am pretty sure that you don’t have to be a child to read a childs book.

There’s always a “coincidence” or a justification why.

Let alone, the amount of times she had back tracked and rewriting the Harry Potter to suit what’s popular at the time. Which, she can totally do that, that’s her right. But she does this thing a LOT. Like, the whole Dumbledore is gay thing. It’s not actually mentioned in any of the Harry Potter books.

We really need to start paying attention to these “coincidences” more, and I apoligise to the trans community for not really paying attention to them more.

Thursday Theories – Suffragettes

“Fighting” with TERFs who think they are the new Suffragettes, has actually proven quiet interesting. Mainly because I went to actually look up more about the suffaragettes and … gurrrrrrrrrrrrrrllllllllllllll …

They were crazy!

As an example, the more violent suffragettes were the inspiration for the IRA bombings.

Suffragette bombing and arson campaign

Reading through this link. It really depressed me. If this is the reason why women were given the vote, no wonder women are still not taken seriously by men in Politics. Instead of reason, and good debate, we got the “vote” through violence and harming completely innocent people.

The campaign has seen classification as a terrorist campaign, with both suffragettes themselves and the authorities referring to arson and bomb attacks as terrorism.

At the time, planting bombs was officially a hangable offence, and so suffragettes took special measures to avoid being caught by police when carrying out bombing attacks.

It says in the link, this is only now starting to come out. It was hidden and I can see why.

I have known about the racism part for a while now.

ACLU Blog – Celebrate Women’s Suffrage, but Don’t Whitewash the Movement’s Racism

When suffragists gathered in Seneca Falls, New York, in July 1848, they advocated for the right of white women to vote. The participants were middle and upper-class white women, a cadre of white men supporters and one African-American male — Frederick Douglass.  The esteemed abolitionist had forged a strong working relationship with fellow abolitionists and white women suffragists, including Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony. No Black women attended the convention. None were invited.

Thursday Theories – God: Pro-Choice or Pro-Life?

Nothing like a good controversial blog post on your Friday mornings, hehe

Funny thing is too me, it’s not really that controversial, as it’s not really that difficult to see where God stands on the matter. I can show you in just TWO bible quotations.

Hosea 13:16

ESV – 16 Samaria shall bear her guilt, because she has rebelled against her God; they shall fall by the sword; their little ones shall be dashed in pieces, and their pregnant women ripped open.

And the other is…

Psalm 127:3

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

I think it’s pretty obvious, don’t you?

For those who are not getting the obvious. God, is pro-choice. God himself choose who shall be rewarded with a child and who shall have fetuses ripped from their wombs. God “invented” not only abortions, but also pro-choice.

It just hit me the other day. I was dealing with a pro-life person and was using the usual quotes I use from the Bible. You can’t deny though, that he does give and take unborn lives. So, he makes a choice. Am I right, or am I right? lol

A special Thursday Theories

Although when usually post my Thursday Theories, it is Thursday for the majority of people who read my Blog. It actually comes out on early Friday morning for myself. So while this will be the majorities Wednesday, this actually be on my Thursday for once!

The reason for my “earlier” post today though, is because June the 24th is International Fairy Day.

Dog Halloween GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

day dedicated to the mythological sprites that fill our fairytales and imaginations! Fairies have existed in just about every culture around the world — though they differ from tale to tale.

While the term fairy goes back only to the Middle Ages in Europe. Analogues to these beings in varying forms appear in both written and oral literature, from the Sanskrit gandharva (semidivine celestial musicians) to the nymphs of Greek mythology  and Homer, the jinni of Arabic mythology, and similar folk characters of the Samoans, of the Arctic peoples, and of other indigenous Americans.

There are so many variations of Fairies, good and evil ones. I could probably write a whole paper academic about it. I really want to do like a Fairytale Study Course, but I can’t justify it. I also know a couple of people with fairy gardens, but they live on huge properties and so have the resources and space to make a whole little village. It’s incredibly sweet.

Anyway, there is so much more to Fairies than what I could write in my little blog post, while drinking (haha).

Tomorrow though, embrace your inner Fairy…Whether that’s good or evil, or cheeky ~.^

Thursday Theories – Your theories

I have been really busy this week. Just like “real life” non-blogging stuff busy. It’s fascinating, even though I don’t work, my days are still quiet busy.

I would love to hear some of your theories though! Or can you think of a theory, or any theories, that I could research into? Or is there a theory you’ve heard about, that I might be able to look into? I have really been enjoying writing these Thursday Theories. I have found out SO much stuff, that I had no idea about. Things about Atlantis, and it is so funny to use the fact that Venus was represented as a man or a woman.

The more you know, the more you know.

Thursday Theories – TERFs and their VERY low standards

*VERY long post incoming*

So I am sure by now you have heard of the Women’s March and the vigil’s for Sarah Everard.

WELL…Again TERFs and Gender Criticals are making it all about them…AGAIN. I actually couldn’t believe that I had to argue with a group of grown ups. Who complained that because of a sign saying that TERFS were not welcomed, they left! They were scared off by ONE sign. They couldn’t put the prejudices aside for the violent way a young woman died, at the hands of the police, because of a sign. Not only did they leave because of the sign, but the way they BRAGGED about it too! Like, they were proud that they were scared of by ONE sign.

Then “Reclaim the Streets” was “rude” to a TERF, as they were demanding to know that RTS weren’t giving their money to men ie transwomen, and two weeks later they’re STILL going on about how “rude” they are. Not one person complaining has Sarah Everard mentioned anywhere on their profile.

Watching two women being called “brave” because they’re talking together on Spotify, about how much they hate trans people and they’re just protecting the “rights” of children, by not speaking to a single person who is trans, or even a actual health professional. Is a REALLY low standard to have when it comes to “bravery”. I wonder if they would call two men talking about women to “protect their rights” with no women or a single health professional for women there “brave”. Nope. So what’s the difference? Where, in their world is talking about people who are not even there “brave” in their world? I reported that podcast. Whether or not anything will happen, I don’t know.

Imagine having a go at a small company, because they post a picture of a diary with drawn bums and different underwear on those bums. Calling it not feminist, when it actually subtly is. Then calling me pathetic, when I make a joke about how they’re just jelly they’re bum doesn’t look as good, lol. Then of course they started with the whole misogyny thing, when I pointed out they’re getting upset over a pencil drawing of bums with underwear, and calling me pathetic for a joke. They seem upset. Then they said I was going on about it, as I had to point out. They were the ones who chose to bring it to everyone’s attention. You’re calling a joke pathetic. And when I say to actually LOOK at the drawing, instead of reacting, LOOK AT IT. I’m a misogynists’ -.- They blocked me, lol.

You know it’s just a funny thing to me, that these “women” compare themselves to the same struggles that suffragettes and “witches” faced. So much not are TERFs nearly ANYWHERE near that level that “witches” and suffragettes faced. Even the racists suffragettes.

Now, I come to the Queen of the TERFs. I don’t know how much of you have seen her tweets. That are completely transphobic, but I’ve only just begun to realise how they show how little of a self esteem Rowling has to has. Not only are her tweets and “report” transphobic. There’s one sentence in one tweet, that should be a clue to everyone how she actually views women and herself.

“Dress how you want….Have sex with whoever will have you”

Do NOT HAVE SEX WITH WHO’LL EVER HAVE YOU. How much more lower standards can you get than that? I can’t begin to tell you, how much not to do this. The only person who wins out of that is person who you had sex with. YOU WILL HATE YOURSELF. Which might explain as well quiet a few things about Rowling herself.

HAVE SOME STANDARDS WOMAN! For women and men EVERYWHERE…Have some set standards for yourself and stick to it. Also though having standards for yourself, will also help to stop yourself … I don’t know … If you want to fight for women and girls, if you want to really help us. You wont be scared off by a sign. You wouldn’t tell women to sleep with whoever. You wouldn’t block women asking how the money you’re grabbing from women during a global pandemic is for “sex based rights” when you’re court case is because someone said something “mean” about you.

Okay, I guess this isn’t really a “theory” so much as a fact. I’m “starting” to suspect that these women don’t actually care about women, and just want to hate trans women more.

Why I hate TERFs & GCs. I’m a cis white straight woman. Comes with a LOT of privilege even though I’ve been the victim of violence. TERFs are so engrossed in their HATRED of trans people, who’ve never harmed them. They IGNORE the voices of Brittany Higgins, Patsy Stevenson, Who ARE out there, right now. Trying to stop violence against women, and not on Twitter complaining how “gross” the trans community is. They disrespect the deaths of #DanaMartin #NaomiHersi #MheldoyBruno #stopviolenceagainstwomen

Interesting little tidbit. Since I’ve been a trans ally on Twitter, I have been more abused by women and men, more than I have in the entirety of my life.

Witch Appriopration

If you are a grand daughter of a Witch they couldn’t burn. They might be because your Great Gran mama was on the outside yelling …

Mainly because, one, if you do survive being burnt alive (which I doubt many, if any did). You certainly couldn’t give birth AFTER that. I don’t think we can even do that these days. Okay, I am wrong with this, at least ONE woman has given birth after she badly burned, Turia Pitt. But that’s NOW.

Also, women and men weren’t burned at the stake during the Salem Trials, they were hanged. 19 girls and one “warlock” Giles Corey was pressed to death with stones. The myth of burnings at the stake in Salem is most likely inspired by European witch trials. Either way. Not a single Witch or Warlock, who was actually burned at the stake, survived.

Either way your Great Gran mama was probably a bad witch. What kind of good witch, stands by and let’s her fellow magic comrades burn, or hang? Why wouldn’t you do anything? I can’t imagine that a good witch would hear of these things and just let it continue, letting it peak between the 15th and 18th centuries, that nearly (and probably over) 3 centuries!

NOW, if you said that you were the great grand daughter of a witch that was burned, hanged or executed. THAT makes sense. There was a rumour, that while a woman was being burned at the stake, she gave birth, but the executioner threw the baby back onto the fire pile. I don’t know much of that is true. Girls, gave birth very early back then. So there is a good chance, that some of the girls, cause a lot were young girls, already had had children. Possibly.

Thursday Theories – Fairy Tales

Since Friday the 26th of Feb is tell a Fairy tale day. I thought it’d be a great time to have a more in-depth look at them.

I have always wanted to do a study into Fairytales, there are actual degrees and certificates for them. However, I don’t think I could ever justify the cost of studying them more, and what do you do afterwards? One day, when I win the lottery.

What are some elements to a Fairy Tale?

  • There is usually a good or bad magic element.
  • They usually take place “A long time ago” or, a “long time in the future”. They very rarely take place in the present.
  • There is usually a universal lesson.
  • There is more likely to be some sort of problem, curse or not
  • And they are usually a story where someone’s a hero or heroine, and a villian.

Fairy tales, like any good generation to generation story. Tends to change to suit that current generation, and that current era. Which means a lot of our current Fairy tale, normally made into movies by Disney, have strained away from the original tales. In my opinion, not all that bad really. If you take Hans Christen Anderson or the Brothers Grimm, their fairy tales are literally that … Grimm.

Their characters tend to go through horrible things, just to mostly die or have their heart broken in some horrible way. They are definitely not the family loving, good and love always wins of the Disney movies today! There are definitely Grimm Brother fairy tales, that would have been considered the “I.t.” by Stephen King standard, of yesteryear. The original Grimm Brothers fairytales would probably make for some fantastic horror films! So fairy tales are not just for the kiddies!

There are theories out there, that some fairy tales are based on real people and/or real life events.

Snow White:

Based on the life of Margarete von Waldeck, a 16th century Bavarian noblewoman. Margarete grew up in Bad Wildungen, where her brother used small children to work his copper mine. Severely deformed because of the physical labor mining required, they were despairingly referred to as dwarfs. The poison apple is also rooted in fact; an old man would offer tainted fruits to the workers, and other children he believed stole from him.

Margarete’s stepmother, despising her, sent the beauty, to the Brussels court to get rid of her. There Prince Philip II of Spain became her steamy lover. His father, the king of Spain, opposing the romance, dispatched Spanish agents to murder Margarete. They surreptitiously poisoned her.

Beauty and the Beast:

In 1537 there was a young boy named Petrus Gonsalvus who was regularly called a beast. Reportedly, this was most likely because he had a case of hypertrichosis, a condition that causes a person to grow hair all over their body, referred to as “werewolf syndrome.” Gonsalvus was 10 years old when he was taken from Spain, and sent to the King of France to operate as a type of court jester.

Eventually, King Henry’s wife, Catherine de’Medici (who took over after the king died), found Gonsalvus a wife — also called Catherine. Though it took some getting used to, the beauty fell in love with “the beast.” They were married for 40 years and had seven kids together, four of which also had hypertrichosis.

The Pied Piper:

In 1264, a pied piper had offered to get rid of the numerous rats in the Germanic village of Hamelin, as long as the town elders gave him a considerable amount of money upon the completion of this task. After he disposed of the rats, the elders reneged on their promise. Furious, the piper enticed the children of the village to follow him. They never returned.

Thursday Theories – Friends, not so friendly?

I now have a theory about friends. That they are not friendly friends at all.

I am pretty certain that I have written, how if and when now, I watched Friends, I really wouldn’t like it.

The only one, I think is any good is Rachel. That’s mainly because she’s the only character really, that makes any changes, and becomes better. Even with being a little materialistic, she still “blossoms” into a lovely character.

Ross is probably the worst character in the whole show, he’s controlling (even with his own sister) he’s easily jealous, the whole episode with his song playing with dolls.

Moving Ross Geller GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

Even Phoebe, people used to say Phoebe reminded them of me. However, she’s not really that great of a New Age “hippy” hippy. Sure, she does that classics “vegan” type things. Other than that, she’s not actually that nice. I’m thinking of the episode, closer to the end, when she, Monica and Mike go karaoke. Monica has no idea that the reasons she’s popular with the crowd, you can see her boobs. Not only does Phoebe not tell Monica, but then keeps making “remarks”, and never tells Monica. Women shouldn’t do that to a enemy, let alone a “friend!”.

Have you ever had friends, like “Friends”? I’ve known and know a Ross and a Phoebe.

The reason for this is not a real, mystery type theory. It’s more how we have all had friends in our life, that are like those two above? I have a theory we all meet a Ross and a Phoebe in our lives. The “good guy” that’s not really that good, and the hippy “love everyone and peace” friend. Who part from them maybe all on the outside a good and peace hippy type person. But she’s not really.

Thursday Theories – Alcatraz

Probably one of the biggest mysteries of the 20th and the 21st century.

What inspired me to write about this one mystery, did any of them actually survive the escape? Funnily enough watching the 80’s classics “Unsolved Mysteries” with Robert Stack prompted me to write this. They did a test to see if it’s possible if any of them could have made it.

Frank Morris, Clarence Anglin and John Anglin remain the only people who have escaped Alcatraz and never been found.

What Unsolved Mysteries did, was to experiment with a long distance swimmer and also a raft. Too see if either of them could make it across. The long distance swimmer actually made it across, fairly okay, but he was an experienced long distance swimmer. The raft, didn’t do so well. So, technically, if they swam, they could have made it. There’s no evidence though, how experienced swimmer they were, or how much exercise they were able to do beforehand. There is evidence that they at least attempted to make the raft though, so that’s why they think they probably drowned.

The FBI officially closed its case on the Alcatraz escapees in 1979.

“For the 17 years we worked on the case, no credible evidence emerged to suggest the men were still alive, either in the U.S. or overseas,” the FBI stated.

However, the Marshals Service has continued to investigate leads and said it will do so until the men are proven deceased, or until they turn 99.

Washington Post A.Wang 2018

A man claims three Alcatraz prisoners ‘barely’ survived a 1962 escape — and that he’s one of them
