So Hobbit Day is actually tomorrow on Friday the 22nd. There is a lot going on tomorrow though, part of the reason I am writing about this today…But also to let you know that it is actually Hobbit Day/ J.R.R Tolkien day…tomorrow…So be prepared!
I have no idea what I am going to do, or if indeed I do anything tomorrow. I am hoping for some times by myself, but we’ll have to wait and see. I am however, considering getting this Weta Collecta Box…It looks great and what is a better way to celebrate Bilbo and Frodo’s birthday?
I was really struggling to find something this week for my “Magical Monday” posting. I always love to make a post on Magical Monday, mainly because I do hope that it cheers people up on Monday mornings.
So after liking 10 pictures on this particular page, I decided to share this page with you all as well! It’s a Facebook page called “Middle Earth’s Art” The drawings on there are amazing! They are beautiful and well drawn. They like to post a picture with an appropriate quote. If I could like every single picture on this page without making everyone on my friends list driven crazy, I probably would like every single one when they are posted.
I believe that these are drawings that JRR Tolkien would proud of himself. If you are stuck on a drawing or are having writers block on a fantasy script, I would strongly recommend looking at these pictures and prepare to be inspired!
Sometimes you need something to help inspire you to get out of bed and sometimes nothing makes you feel more inspired and powerful and brings out the magic in you more than a beautiful tune…Celtic music just has something magical for myself…I hope you think of this song throughout the day!
Well…I finally got around to seeing the above movie title “The Hobbit…The battle of five armies”…What can I say? I am emotionally drained. While I don’t want to give to much away, I mean it must have affected me in some way, I feel really emotionally drained. The only other time that I’ve felt like this was after break ups. I guess though it is more than likely the end of an era. I keep randomly bursting into tears.
I realised a little while ago as well, all of these JRR Tolkien, Peter Jackson movies have been around in some form or another for HALF my life. I guess when something has been in your life for that long, I guess it does feel like a little like I have to “let it go”. I mean how often is anything these days in your life for half your life. I mean how marriages started and ended during 2001 and ?lol.
I have to say that I enjoy it, I did feel though like a lot of others it seems, there were just some scenes that should have been left as it had originally written. I don’t even mind the whole love triangle thing right up until it killed a scene that really should have been between two other major characters that were actually in the book.
It’s just so weird though! I feel SO drained, I think unless you’ve felt like this it is hard to explain. Can you be in love with a fictional character? Can a fictional character truly represent everything you want in a man…or dwarf in this case. Even with all of his faults, there is something about Thorin Oakenshield that I am completely and utterly in love, and that’s what it feels like, I can’t help it. I am a 30 year old women, it feels totally crazy to feel like this. Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield makes me feel like somehow being human and not being apart of the world that is Middle Earth, I am lost here. I don’t fit in here, I fit in there…Yet, it is totally not reality.
On a completely different subject, completely loved Legolas!

Remember to watch in HD!
This isn’t even a hard thought for me! I would jump into “The Lord of the Rings” or “The Hobbit” films without question.
During that time I would make sure that I had introduced myself to either Legolas or Thorin Oakenshield and had them teach me how to use some of the weaponry. I would hope too visit Rivendell and fly on a Eagle. In all honesty I’m not sure that I would even have all the time I would want, too spend there…But it’s such a lovely dream of mine.
This week is my ‘birthday week’ so I am posting whatever I want =D This man though I have been in love with him from before I even saw him! This is probably the first time I have ever admitted this publicly other than to a few close female friends. One night I had my first ‘lucid’ dream of a man with beautiful long white hair and even now I still remember everything that happened and all of the details. A few months later I go to see another movie with a girlfriend and I walk past this huge cardboard cut out of my dream man! A dream that I had previously told my friends about. It was one of the most freakiest moments of my life!
I admit though when I heard he was going to be in “The Hobbit” I was sceptical, BUT, I really liked how they have fitted him in. Any-ways some facts about Legolas. Although the character does not feature in the novels, Thranduil does feature. So this is how it was justified to use, he more than likely would have been there.
Leoglas is an elvish fictional character in J.R.R. Tolkien’s literature. He is a Sindar Elf of the Woodland Realm. Legolas is also one of the main members of nine in the Fellowship of the Ring. Legolas is the son of Thranduil, King of the Woodland Realm of Northern Mirkwood, there is no mention of Legolas’s mother or if he had any siblings. He was first introduced as a messenger to Elrond of Rivendell to let them know that Gollum has escaped from their holdings.
As part of the Fellowship of the Ring, Legolas is armed with a bow and arrows and one “long white knife” which hangs by his side. Legolas can see and hear from great distances as well. Another quality is he can walk lightly over tonnes of snow. He also has a killer smile (in the movies)
