The Classics

I was just sitting down and was watching “Cheers”…What a fantastic show! Even if Shelley Long should have never left and Kirstie Alley is a Scientologist. What a fantastic show! With Danny Elfman saying as well that they think the Simpsons will be ending still, it got me too thinking. I personally would love to see #TheSimpsons continue, I don’t think it’s THAT bad. Still better than a lot of stuff on tv right now. But I can take comfort in that there will definitely be reruns of it for years =D

Do you have any favourite classic shows that you could watch over and over again.

Autopsy!

You didn’t see that one coming, did you?!

I don’t normally write about television shows, but this one is amazing and I just wanted to share…My partner gives me “Not this again” eyes, when I try telling him about the newest episode.

Autopsy: The Last Hours of…Is about certain well known, mainly celebrities who have died seemingly before their time, or have a lot of Myths surrounding their deaths. It does take into account some of the Myths, because sometimes the Myths to do have some truth to them. The deaths are investigated by either one of three different forensic pathologist/psychologist.

  • Dr Richard Shepherd – Has been in the most episodes.
  • Dr Anjula Mutanda
  • Jason Payne-James

So far the ones that I have seen are about Michael Hutchence (INXS), Robin Williams, Bruce Lee and Marilyn Monroe. As well as some I have not yet seen (the show is usually on here at 11pm at night on a ‘work night’) Such as Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Maurice Gibbs and Janis Joplin. There were a couple of others that I have seen, but they have been a little less known. The show is narrated by Iain Glen (aka Jorah Mormont).

If you are interested in the mind and are kind of interested in how peoples minds work before their deaths, this is a good show for that. This isn’t really a “crime” show because none of these people died while necessarily committing a crime. It’s all about what lead up to their deaths and what it might have been like for them in the last 25 hours of their lives. How possibly, if it all, their deaths could have been prevented.

Take the Bruce Lee “case” for example, an injury roughly three year prior to his death…Ultimately caused his death. A slipped disc three years prior meant that Bruce Lee started to take steroids quiet regularly. We know now the dangers of constant steroid taking, but Bruce Lee and I doubt the people around him knew that much about it at the time. Only a couple of months earlier he had collapsed and the only reason he did not die that particular time was because they were able to get to the hospital on time.

Whereas and probably the saddest one that I watched was about Robin Williams and while ultimately he died by his own hands. There were SO many factors in his death, not just that he was “unhappy”. You probably have heard rumours that Robin Williams had Parkinson or something similar. It was determined that Robin Williams died by Lewy Body Dementia.

Lew Body Dementia is a rare form of Dementia and something that I would not wish on my worse enemy, let alone Robin Williams, who brought so much joy. It not only causes your usual dementia symptoms, but it becomes much more severe. It’s almost like you have Parkinsons AND Alzheimer together, on top of that the person suffering is more like to suffer from extreme hallucinations.

While the above is depressing, it’s made me realise that Robin Williams it STILL a hero to me when it comes to mental health. I’m sure if he hadn’t of had Lewy he would have fought his depression.

Back on topic…

If this seems like an interest to you, please watch it! It is completely fascinating.

Marathons…The Fun Type! =D

I am just going to jump right and ask you all…

What is your favourite movie or tv type marathon and what do you do while you’re “running” through whatever it is you are watching?

So yes, this post is not a about a running type marathon but about what movie (or television) marathons you have ever participated in and I have a whole heap of questions, so lets start chatting!

Did you do the marathon by yourself?

Did you do it with others?

Was it for a cause?

Fuller House

Over the weekend I was trying to help myself get over a “SundayFundayHangover” and my partner and I suddenly remembered that “Netflix” is now playing the full season of Fuller House. So we decided to give it a go.

First of all I’ll just start this review off by saying that we ended up playing the whole season in one go, so to me, that’s always a good sign and especially since we were laughing through the episodes was a good sign as well. The only downside that I could see with the new show is that I am worried for the show relying too much on making references from the past show. Even trying to make some of the regular reoccurring new characters like the old regular reoccurring characters.

Apart from that it’s actually a really good show. If this didn’t have the original tv show it would still actually work as a standalone show (they’d have to take out the flashback references though).

I just felt like I had to write this because I’ve been reading a lot of the reviews and they all sound bad. Except that most people seem to have never seen the original and somehow expected to just “get” the new show. The others seemed to have watched the original but they expected it to be the same. It’s not a Shakespeare play, it’s a cheesy comedy.

Was school easy or difficult for you? How so?

School was easy for me for years and then Year 6 happened and that was the first year I was ever bullied. This was luckily before cyber bullying was a “thing”, but it was still horrible. I had never had anything horrible to me before and it was a shock to my system.

What is your favorite animal?

Oh my goodness, I have a few favourites. I would have to say that overall my favourite would have to be Lions/Lionesses (you should see my room, I have more Lion things that comic/nerdy things. I have a whole “Pride” all brought from this company Schleich).

After watching the safari drive for months now, I have a few other “favourites”:

  • Elephants
  • Leopards
  • Hyena
  • Buffalo
  • Kudu (they are so pretty!)

If you had to have your vision corrected would you rather: glasses or contacts?

Honestly it depends, there are some pretty cool looking glasses and contacts out there. It would depend on my mood, lol. Ultimately if I HAD to choose I would go with the contacts, mainly because everyone I know who has glasses seem to lose them a lot! They can become very expensive after awhile, lol

List:  Name at least five television shows (past or present) you enjoyed?

  • Buffy/Angel (except for Angels last season)
  • The Bill
  • Doctor Who (Matt Smith is my “favourite” Doctor, I love them all though!)
  • Just the whole of the crime channel pretty much, lol
  • Key and Peele … Classic!lol

Comeback tv shows!

“The past should be left in the past”.

So with Full House coming back everyone I’ve been talking to has been really excited and can’t wait! Like with most tv reunion type shows, everyone is full of trepidation and anxiety, most people cannot wait, but are worried about the “let-down” too. There have been many televisions shows that have stopped and then come back many years later.

Unfortunately when you type in “Comeback tv shows” into Google, there was actually a television show called “The ComeBack”.

One that I have actually been really enjoying lately is “The Odd Couple”starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon. I’m actually finding it to be really good, I didn’t think that it could work in this day and age…I was pleasantly surprised.

What shows are you looking forward to see coming back?
