The Spring Equinox, Australia

Technically, the Spring Equinox was last Friday, the 23rd. However, that s also the date of my father birth, so I was honestly more worried about that. (Spring Equinox 2022 in Southern Hemisphere was at 11:03 am on Friday 23rd).

The September Equinox marks the arrival of the first day of spring in the southern hemisphere. That’s why in the earth’s southern areas, the September Equinox is known as the Spring Equinox.

Now, I am, what is called “new agey”, even though a lot of these beliefs have been around a long time. It’s kind of interesting that really. A lot of the beliefs and practices that people have been practicing for literal centuries are now “new”. Nah. man. It might be new to some religions, but it’s not new. Western Medication is quiet new though, in it’s current form at least.

I went out and found all these bees, over a a bush in our backyard. It’s a huge one and it smells beautiful. These pictures are also my last of September. Is there another sign of Spring coming? Apart from like baby lambs, but I don’t live near a Farm, lol

Bees are a symbol of wealth, good luck and prosperity since Ancient times.

What does spring equinox represent?

The Spring equinox is the representation of new life and light, new beginnings, path, and seeds.

How you can celebrate the Spring Equinox:

  • “Spring” Cleaning, haha
  • Refresh your house with Spring type items. Bring Spring, inside
  • Plant flowers and trees. Plant new life.
  • Usually this is done in the Northern Hemisphere, paint eggs.
  • Make a great feast.
  • Meditate.
  • Make a fairy garden.
  • Watch, as it changes from Winter to Spring.

Here comes the sun…oh no, it’s gone again

There are two times of the year, I really dislike. I wouldn’t say hate, but that’s a bit extreme and it’s not like the weather does it on purpose … or does it?

One of those times is when it’s changing from Autumn to Winter. When you have four seasons in a day. The days are not yet horrible, but they loom and that is slightly depressing, because you know the dark weather is coming.

The other time, is now. When it goes from Winter to Spring. Honestly the biggest thing is, that I don’t like never knowing what to actually wear. Take Wednesday, it was beautiful! First warmish day in a few months. Had to work, but still, gorgeous. Luckily, where I work we’ve got big windows and I got to see the birds play too. Then Thursday was all grey, and while not drowning with rain. Had little specks, here and there.

I bring at least three jacket type tops. One is a light rain jacket, it’s pretty hand really. Hood is huge though, it covers my face. The other two one is a light cardigan, and the other is a smart cardigan, that’s a little than the rest. They’re all nice, but on Wednesday, I didn’t need any of them. Then Thursday, I needed all of them.

Wednesday was 20 c, which is 68 F. Thursday was 14 c, which is 57.2 f.

What it means to me <3

I see a lot of bloggers talking about the coming of Spring. Spring is my favourite weather =D I can’t blame them, but here, down under, we’re heading into the darkness that is Winter!

I actually used to really enjoy Winter, but in the last few years. I do not enjoy the darkness that Winter brings, but this year I want to change my entire mindset to Winter! There are many things to enjoy about Winter, it’s all about the mind. I think what I dislike about Winter the most is the darkness, how when you leave for the day it’s dark, when you go home, it’s dark.

But there’s nothing stopping me from bringing the light inside. I don’t mean the lights in the house.

I mean like, what’s stopping me from wearing light colours? Like your yellows, pinks, rainbows =D It’s not “stylish”, but I’m not stylish, lol

Make a plan a couple of nights to sit on the couch, watching t.v., reading a book. All snuggled up with a blanket, and I have a lot of those!

A lot of planning meals. Sometimes the weather is way to horrible to go food shopping after work. So planning in advance, means that there is less chance of needing to go to the shops.

And now that I have my Grans fake log heater. I can just put the light on that, I don’t even need to put the heating part on. Hot chocolate. A lot of the time, by Easter, it’s cold and a little chilly. We have the bigger heater on. It sounds so cozy already.

Long baths…with a hot chocolate.

Writing by fake log fire…with a hot chocolate, haha

Spring is here…

It’s finally started to feel like Spring…

Spring the season of renewal and rebirth.

I love Spring, it’s my favourite season. I don’t like really cold weather and I don’t really like it overly hot either, and Australian Summers can get hot!

It’s a good time to:

Spring Clean

Smell the flowers

Read outside, with a glass of wine

Try to plant some flowers.

Buy some mulch first.

Buy flowers that are friendly for bees =D

Enjoy a picnic…By myself or with others too…Maybe.

Have a drink, any drink, at an outdoor cafe.

Walk on a beach, during Sunset, with only a few people on that beach, lol.

I’m already on start trying to Save the Bees … This little bumblebee was being attacked alive by Ants! Ants…those bastards!

The Spring Equinox

The Spring Equinox is the first day of spring season and occurs when the sun passes the equator moving from the southern to the northern hemisphere. The North Pole begins to lean toward the sun again. Day and night have approximately the same length.

Equinoxes happen every year on approximately March 20th and September 21nd, when the Sun’s rays shine directly on the Equator. With the Spring Equinox, the light of day begins to grow longer heading towards the Summer Solstice. With the Autumn Equinox, the days begin to grow shorter heading towards Winter. Not very spiritual, I know.

Ancient cultures and traditions around the world honored the cycle of the seasons, placing a key emphasis on these turning points of Solstices and Equinoxes. Equinoxes are considered a powerful time to connect with the Earth, the Sun and the entire Cosmos.

The Spring Equinox is about the visual showing of rebirth, there are more baby animals about, more flowers are blooming. It’s a time to “Spring Clean” spiritually speaking. You can do this by meditating, making sure that you concentrate on the Spirit of Spring. Lie on that grass, listen to that Earth, hear the birds and see the clouds. Just listen…

Spring or Autumn Equinox, tune into your hearts ❤

It’s finally starting to feel like Spring is finally becoming upon us! Apparently as well the first calendar day of Spring isn’t necessarily the “first day of Spring”.

The last two days have been sunny from morning to evening, although the air is very chilled still…

So what is happening this weekend?

Well the big news that down under we have Fathers Day on Sunday the 3rd of September. So please don’t be alarmed if you suddenly see all these Fathers Days posts all over the place, it’s probably not happening in your country, just some. I am actually celebrating Fathers Day on the Saturday, because I’m working on the Sunday -.- That wasn’t my fault and I honestly thought that my Dad wasn’t going to come down until his birthday (he lives about a three hour drive away) which is at the end of September.

Things you like about Fall/Spring

34. Things you like about Fall/Spring

There are so MANY things that I love about Fall and Spring, I’m a big fan of Spring the most though, It is definitely my favourite season of the whole year. Even though nothing “special” is in it…Spring is a special three months all on it’s own!

I love Spring, it means that Winter is finally over and yet, it’s not too hot at the moment like it is in the Summer. It’s just feels perfect, you can stay outside without either freezing or sweltering. You can swear skirts and dresses without over heating and at the same time not freezing either. I always love the first day of Spring, when it really feels like Spring. Every time I really feel like that first day of Spring the only song that comes on in my head “Here comes the sun” by George Harrison. It will play over and over again in my head and it is GLORIOUS!!!

Autumn is Here!

15. Things you like Spring/Autumn (it’s Autumn here at that time)

I’m just going to start with saying that it’s actually Autumn here at the moment, instead of Spring like it is overseas. Spring is probably my favourite month of the year though,  Winter is gone and it’s not yet really hot like it is in Summer.

  • Well my Birthday month is within Autumn…So that’s always a great start to the season.
  • I love seeing all the browning leaves on the ground and even though I’m an adult, I love to kick at them.
  • It starts making for the start of cuddling weather.
  • I can finally start wearing my gorgeous jumpers and coats again.
  • Easter is here…Although over the years I’ve gotten less and less chocolate, which is fine, because I never ate it…We have a lot of public holidays which means seeing family and friends. Before nesting in for the Winter.
