What is your spirit animal?

Oh, the Lioness.

I so needed to be reminded of this!

I am not a religious person, but I am spiritual one. I prefer Buddhism and Hinduism over Christianity. I’ve gone to a few Buddhists talks and watched created some magical sand art. BUT, I would never to “subscribe” to one religion, I need my space, lol. I don’t like boxes, lol

I guess to have a spirit animal, you can’t always explain it exactly why that it is. It just is. I guess its why does someone believe in whatever they do, you can’t always explain it. On a base level, I have total respect for Lions in general. Lionesses though, just kind of get on with it. They are great mothers. Quiet frankly whenever I deal with a truly awful “person”, if you could see what’s in my head. When I see bigots try to harm youth.

On a more spirit level. As I wrote above, you can’t always explain it.

They’re just always kind of “there”. When I first learnt about meditation, tarot reading. We learnt to go to a “space”. Mine was a African Savannah, with a Lion, Lionesses. Sometimes a lion cub, sometimes just one, two or all three of them.

Thursday Theories – Spirits

I will let you into a little secret, I believe in stuff.

One of the biggest things I like to do at this time, is too honour the dead. No, with anything “creepy”, but around this time of year. I really do believe in the thinning of the veil. Around this time of year, I sit and meditate and say what’s in my heart, too those who have passed, animals included ❤

I used to do it even before Halloween really started to “take off” in Australia. It probably had something to do with me being in America for a long time there. I was on and off in America for a few years there. I loved Halloween there, when I got back to Australia. I tried to turn it into more a Samhain thing.

So now, I guess I do both?

I am the who when you call, “Who’s there?”
I am the wind blowing through your hair
I am the shadow on the moon at night
Filling your dreams to the brim with fright

I believe not, in necessarily one God. I believe in Spirits, Guardians. Ghosts, not in the BOO way, but more I believe that those who have passed still watch over us. I don’t necessarily believe in reincarnation, I do believe though that our spirits comes back. I don’t know how many have heard people say about newborns “They’ve been here before” I believe that.

The Christmas Spirit

I read the saddest thing and the sweetest thing. A mother asking how she can help her children celebrate Christmas, when it’s going to be so small this year…and the suggestions! The #ChristmasSpirit is alive and well!

I have written up all my international Christmas cards/letters. Sent them off. So some people on here, watch out for those! I’m hoping those will get there before Christmas, lol.

Do any of you have any plans on doing something different for Christmas this year? I am donating a lot more things to charities, mainly for the kids. I’ve putting thing and money aside specifically this year to do it. Normally I just get bits and pieces for my own Christmas. I put money into tins, but this year, I went “No! Children need more joy than they’ve ever needed before!”

The Spring Equinox

The Spring Equinox is the first day of spring season and occurs when the sun passes the equator moving from the southern to the northern hemisphere. The North Pole begins to lean toward the sun again. Day and night have approximately the same length.

Equinoxes happen every year on approximately March 20th and September 21nd, when the Sun’s rays shine directly on the Equator. With the Spring Equinox, the light of day begins to grow longer heading towards the Summer Solstice. With the Autumn Equinox, the days begin to grow shorter heading towards Winter. Not very spiritual, I know.

Ancient cultures and traditions around the world honored the cycle of the seasons, placing a key emphasis on these turning points of Solstices and Equinoxes. Equinoxes are considered a powerful time to connect with the Earth, the Sun and the entire Cosmos.

The Spring Equinox is about the visual showing of rebirth, there are more baby animals about, more flowers are blooming. It’s a time to “Spring Clean” spiritually speaking. You can do this by meditating, making sure that you concentrate on the Spirit of Spring. Lie on that grass, listen to that Earth, hear the birds and see the clouds. Just listen…

Spring or Autumn Equinox, tune into your hearts ❤

Testify!

I saw a very interesting thought today and I was wondering what you all thought. I’m just going to say that I am not religious, but I am spiritual. While I have no problem with Religion as it stands alone. I do and will always have problems with extremists of any nature, or anyone who uses their Religion to hurt or discriminate. I don’t believe that’s what any religion is supposed to be “used” for.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here. But I’m pretty sure God was a Republican (that whole Old Testament thing). But Jesus was definitely a Democrat (that whole New Testament thing).

What’s the worst topping you could put on popcorn?   (credit to Teresa for this one)

For myself personally it’d be chilli, because I am not good with chilli, but I love eating popcorn at the movies.

In what country did Silent Night originate?

Off the top of my head…I think it’s German? When I actually go and Google it, it is pretty much German, it comes from Austria.

(WARNING! The following question is NOT meant to start a fuss.  It’s merely a good discussion question in my opinion.  Most everyone knows where I stand on this. If you feel like arguing about it, please give it a pass.) We’re all adults and sensible ones at that.  We can be mature about such things, right?

How would you react if there was irrefutable proof that God doesn’t exist? How about if there was irrefutable proof that God does exist?

For myself, personally, it doesn’t really matter either way. I am not religious, I’m more spiritual. I believe something is out there, I just don’t know what.

And last question:

What is the scariest non banned item you could take on to a plane?

I actually find this question more “scandalous” than the God question, I wouldn’t taken anything scary on a plane. I suffer from anxiety, so I would never do that.

How I spent my week…

If you haven’t started reading my Blog just this week, then you’ll know I was house sitting for my Mum and I was alone a lot this week.

  • In the end I had 6 bags of clothes and two bag of shoes. Now I’m just deciding whether or not to try and sell my shoes to friends first before giving them away.
  • Many walks with the dog. They were so funny, because we’ve got her this harness that goes around the chest, instead of the neck. She is so tiny though, one leg pops out, at least one street at a time, lol.
  • Finding out about mindfulness. It’s interesting, I heard about mindfulness, but did not understand what it was. I thought it was just part of meditation. I think I’ll write a post more about it.
  • I got so many Christmas presents. All under $50 =D Like altogether under 50. I’ve knocked off a couple of people =D
  • I was constantly cooking too much, I kept having reheated meals. I kept cooking for two or more, when there was only myself.

Astrology and other cool things!

What better way to start a Monday then to tell you about some hobbies that I do. That I can’t actually believe that I have never told you all about!

Now I know the title says Astrology. I am not an actual Astrologer so I can’t not tell you your future/horoscope. However, I am a big follower of it. Now also when I say a big follower of it, I don’t really pay attention to the day to to day. When I was younger my Gran made a chart with different houses and those sorts of ones I pay attention too. Mainly because they’ve been extremely accurate.

My Gran also taught me Reiki and I am a Level Reiki Practitioner (and my bear Tristan). For those who do not what Reiki is, I’ll give you a little quick break down: Reiki is the ancient Chinese healing method with your hands. The great thing about Reiki is that you can do what is called “Absent Healings”. Which is where you give a picture or have a picture in your mind of the person your healing and you use a proxy (hence the teddy bear). I don’t use Reiki so much on other people anymore, but I do on myself at lot at the moment. It really does help. I must stress that it will not necessarily cure anything, but it helps with the stress of the situation. I once was regularly giving Reiki healing for someone who had terminal cancer. Although it did not cure the cancer, she said that it helped her with the pain.

If you ever feel like you need an absent reiki healing, please don’t hesitate to contact me!

My Grandmother also taught me the ways of the Tarot and I do love using my cards. I currently have a Lord of the Rings deck and I’ve had them for years! I love just using them to help clarify any questions or situations that I find myself currently in. Unfortunately though I don’t know why, but I can’t find my deck!

Find your Tribe!

Nurt Thursday – Who’s Your Tribe?

I was so happy to see this weeks Nurture Thursday…My Gran has always taught me that the people we truly “click with” are our “tribe”.

When we talk about “tribe” in the more emotional and spiritual type. We’re not talking about, like the Maasai tribes or tribes like that. We are talking about people we click with those vs those people we just don’t. When you meet someone and you just click or don’t click with. Those people that are just not part of your tribe. The ones you cannot connect with on any level vs the ones that you do. Even when you don’t really understand why one way or another.
