Not understanding…

One of the things that I found interesting when QE2 passed. Is how little people understand how the Monarchy even works, and I’m not even British.

You know how everyone keeps having a go at Meghan and Harry for talking badly about the Royal Family? When they, in fact, never have. They’ve talked about how the FIRM have treated them. Just like the Queens twitter account did not wish Meghan a happy birthday and the others did. No, the Queen, couldn’t just say what she wanted too.

So, no, the Queen could not just condemn things, in her name.

The amount of documentaries I’ve watched about Henry the 8th, Elizabeth the 1st, Mary Queen of Scots. Their lives are NOT their own. They DON’T speak for themselves. They are surrounded by those who speak for them. Which is why YOU have to be so careful about what you read/listen about them.

It’s why I only listen to when they do actually use their own words. I watch their body language, I listen to them speaking.

“Freedom of Speech”

I’ve noticed a lot lately, especially after the Christchurch attacks. A LOT of Australians going on about “Freedom of Speech” and how because of this, they can use hate speech. One problem with that…Australia doesn’t actually have Freedom of Speech, that’s an entirely American thing, because of the 1A. Australia doesn’t have a 1A, let alone a 2A or 100A. Australia has an implied freedom of political communication.

One Voice Day

FOR PEACE!

One Voice Day

Although this not an official holiday, I do like the idea of this day.

Here is The Universal Peace Covenant

Peace is the breath of our spirit.

It wells up from within the depths of our being to refresh, to heal, to inspire.

Peace is our birthright.

Its eternal presence exists within us as a memory of where we have come from and as a vision of where we yearn to go.

Our world is in the midst of change.
For millennia, we have contemplated, reasoned, and practiced the idea of peace. Yet the capacity to sustain peace eludes us. To transcend the limits of our own thinking we must acknowledge that peace is more than the cessation of conflict. For peace to move across the face of the earth we must realize, as the great philosophers and leaders before us, that all people desire peace. We hereby acknowledge this truth that is universal. Now humanity must desire those things that make for peace.

We affirm that peace is an idea whose time has come.
We call upon humanity to stand united, responding to the need for peace. We call upon each individual to create and foster a personal vision for peace. We call upon each family to generate and nurture peace within the home. We call upon each nation to encourage and support peace among its citizens. We call upon each leader, be they in the private home, house of worship or place of labor, to be a living example of peace for only in this way can we expect peace to move across the face of the earth.

World Peace begins within ourselves.
Arising from the spirit peace seeks expression through the mind, heart, and body of each individual. Government and laws cannot heal the heart. We must transcend whatever separates us. Through giving love and respect, dignity and comfort, we come to know peace. We learn to love our neighbors as we love ourselves bringing peace into the world. We hereby commit ourselves to this noble endeavor.

Peace is first a state of mind.
Peace affords the greatest opportunity for growth and learning which leads to personal happiness. Self-direction promotes inner peace and therefore leads to outer peace. We vow to heal ourselves through forgiveness, gratitude, and prayer. We commit to causing each and every day to be a fulfillment of our potential, both human and divine.

Peace is active, the motion of silence, of faith, of accord, of service.
It is not made in documents but in the minds and hearts of men and women. Peace is built through communication. The open exchange of ideas is necessary for discovery, for well-being, for growth, for progress whether within one person or among many. We vow to speak with sagacity, listen with equanimity, both free of prejudice, thus we will come to know that peace is liberty in tranquility.

Peace is achieved by those who fulfill their part of a greater plan.
Peace and security are attained by those societies where the individuals work closely to serve the common good of the whole. Peaceful coexistence between nations is the reflection of man’s inner tranquility magnified. Enlightened service to our fellowman brings peace to the one serving, and to the one receiving. We vow to live in peace by embracing truths that apply to us all.

Living peaceably begins by thinking peacefully.
We stand on the threshold of peace-filled understanding. We come together, all of humanity, young and old of all cultures from all nations. We vow to stand together as citizens of the Earth knowing that every question has an answer, every issue a resolution. As we stand, united in common purpose, we hereby commit ourselves in thought and action so we might know the power of peace in our lifetimes.

Peace be with us all ways. May Peace Prevail On Earth.

“Evil”

Conservatives and “Need all the guns” Americans listen up.

David Hogg (or any of the children) calling you evil (and you not liking being called evil) does not mean they are in the wrong…Guess what because you support evil people, that makes you complicit. Unless you denounce what these people have said, you are absolutely complicit and stand with them.

  1. Dana Loesch bizarees threatening “Times Up” video
  2. Ted Nuggent (nugget) calling children soulless…as well as other things, because he doesn’t agree with them.
  3. Jamie Allman saying he (and his friends) would like to shove a pole up David Hogg’s backside.
  4. Laura Ingraham…While maybe nothing she’s said, so far, is “evil” but putting down people by bringing up irrelevant things.
  5. The conservatives who say they wanted to help, but these children are just so disparaging, that they just can’t.

This is literally what we think you do, when you do NOTHING to denounce these people and their words…YOU ARE COMPLICIT!

Yes or No

I promise this is going to be my last Same Sex Marriage post, mainly because I think by now people have their minds pretty set. Guess What…Whether you agree with someone or not, they have a right to say what they think. We don’t actually have “Freedom of Speech” in Australia, we have an implied right to political speech.

Basically whether or not you agree with the other side, they have a right to say what they want, but you also have to accept the consequences of those actions. A lot of businesses for example have social media type clauses.

The situation frustrates me because the Government should have just let it happen. I swear, there would have been a few upset people but I truly do think it would have just died down after a few months. Other countries that have done it, are perfectly fine. So what is the problem?

Oh and if one more person brings up “paedophilia” for a reason to Vote “No”. I swear I will list every single Church since the beginning of time that have either been charged or investigated for paedophilia…George Pell anyone?

Here are some facts:

  • People had up until the 24th of August to register to Vote.
  • There is a very quick way to check where the closest post office box is to you. You’ll probably find that it’s actually within walking distance.
  • Your vote has to be back by November 7th.
  • It’s not a obligatory vote.
  • Probably the saddest fact that even if the majority Vote Yes…It still doesn’t mean that the Government have to let it pass, there will just be more of a possibility of it happening.
  • No matter what the outcome is…Gay people can already have children, whether it’s by adoption or surrogacy or…other. The outcome of this vote will NOT change that. Some people seem to still need to get this one in their heads.

Politics and Celebrity

I think of all the issues this year, this has been one of the biggest ones…People telling American Citizens, that they’re just a celebrity and they should “shut up”…While at the some time voting in a celebrity for President.

So why the big ho-ha?

Whether you are a celebrity or not, if you are ultimately an American citizen, you have just as right to speak as anyone else…

However I am of the opinion that just because you are a celebrity or an entertainer doesn’t mean you HAVE to speak out on political issues either. Most celebrities don’t start out for a career in entertainment to become a politician? Some just naturally veer that way and that’s fine, but some don’t and that’s fine too. Maybe they just genuinely feel like they don’t really understand what’s going on and don’t want to look the fool?

I don’t know when it become a pre-requisite for celebrities to have to speak about political issues? … Or any kind of issue … When did that happen exactly? Unless you have an actual conversation with that person, you don’t really understand where they are coming from. Some I think as well don’t bother as well because like the saying goes ”

“You can’t win the internet”.

I know from reading what other people have said about these celebrities. That even when they have said something or done something “good” or to speak out. They get called fake and not genuine. Let’s be honest here, you are a complete stranger to these celebrities and yet revel in their mistakes. It’s kind of  feels like a sickness. This is what I think of people who complain when a celebrity tries to do the right thing and they just continue to call them “fake” or something along those lines..It’s almost like they don’t want them to change and do the “right thing” by them.

Albert Insanity

I think sometimes people forget, celebrities are human too. I think each of them hope for success without really thinking of the “responsibility” that could possibly happen with the fame. I watch these “feuds” and how people take sides, complete strangers. They take it to such a level that I cannot understand. I remember the days when people just liked the entertainment. I just want to listen to the music again…Not the feud. Sure, people like Gary Glitter and Jimmy Saville should NEVER be played in any house ever again. It’s not up to a celebrity where I stand or what views I think they should take though, or how they should do it either.

Literally every single artist on this planet is not doing something right by some and is “God” to others…It’s almost like we’re all human and nothing is just black and white.

For the last time…

I feel really lucky and yet feel horrible for saying that I am so happy to be an Australian and not an American today…I have forbidden the topic of the whole political situation right now. I can’t vote, so I feel completely hopeless and helpless, that I can ‘t vote. However, I saw this very beautifully written speech by Dan Rather (Wikipedia) and I had to share it. I am going to say though I don’t think it’s something I want to deal with anymore, it’s so toxic for me. It doesnt help that I can’t even vote!
