However, you celebrate today. I hope that it has been a nice day, or will be a nice day. One more week, roughly until New Years.
I almost ended up in tears the other day. There’s something that was told too me that I can’t let go of. It was pretty disturbing and very “deaf”, what they told me. Sometimes I really do feel like I have to put out my hand to people who have known me a long time and say “Let me introduce myself, my name is Lauren Bolton”.
Like sometimes, someone says something to you and it makes you go to yourself “God, I really had no chance, did I”.
If I was to tell you that I have a “secret” theme song, would that surprise you? Or do you have a secret them song too?

It’s okay to be happy…
Even if you feel like nothings “right” and something is incredibly sad. If you can’t control the situation and you can’t change the situation, change your mood.
Here a five (5) songs that I listen too when I’m perfectly content, even when I should be falling apart. “I should warn you, that I’ll be just fine”.
Some people pray to God, I pray to music…
Thursday Theories – The Music = My Country
I want to change this post a little this week. Over this week, I was listening to some songs that make me nostalgic for how I think my country used to be, and how it should be.
Music is a different form of communication, it can make us feel so many different ways. It can invoke emotions that we sometimes forget are there. What I am going to do this week, is post five songs that make me “sappy” for my country, Australia. When I hear these songs, it reminds me that there is something beautiful still in my country.
I would LOVE for you all to either pingback five songs of your own, that represent your country to you. Doesn’t matter why. If you don’t want to do a whole post, then please post in the comments, the songs you think represent your country to you. If it’s your country’s anthem, go for it!
When I was in America, I sometimes would listen to this one song on repeat:
Christine Anu My Island Home – Uploaded by:
I mean, everyone and anyone whose anyone, thinks this should be Australia’s National Anthem:
I still call Australia home- Peter Allen – Uploaded by:
You are very much missed Peter Allen ❤ ❤ ❤
This one, speaks a lot about what’s wrong with Australia. Especially with the treatment of Australian Aboriginal People. You can’t have the good without the bad. On a funnier side, this is the video that made a lot of men scared of Peter Garrett, because of his dancing, haha.
Midnight Oil – Beds Are Burning Uploaded by:
Seriously, is there anything better than indigenous (of any culture) music?
Yothu Yindi – Treaty (Original Version) Uploaded by:
I am posting a link to the Radio Mix of the same song, that I think a lot of Australian’s will be more “used too” Both are fantastic though.
Do you have any IDEA how hard it is, to pick just 5 songs? lol … I do HAVE to include “the voice” though, lol
John Farnham – You’re the Voice (Official Video) Uploaded by:
Extremely honorable mentions:
Not expected mentions:
Look … I know AC/DC, Kylie Minogue, INXS, etc. Are Australian bands/singers, do they have songs that make me think “Australia”. That’s fine. This isn’t a list of what Australian bands and singers are my favourite. These are a list of songs, that make me think Australia and make me love Australia. Not sorry, but Kylie Minogue doesn’t have one, lol.
Book Magic … Horrible Histories Style!
Have any of you watched “Horrible Histories” the series? I recently saw a episode of theirs “Horrible Histories: Staggering Storytellers” Oh god, I couldn’t stop laughing. I think the show it self is aimed at kids, probably about 10+. However, adults would really enjoy it too … like me … haha!
Women Authors Little Mix style!
30 Day song music challenge … Day 28 – 30
Day 28 … A song by a artist whose voice you love
I just love all of their voices
Celtic Woman – Tir na nOg ft Oonagh
Day 29 … A song you remember from your childhood
I feel if you didn’t listen to this man, and you’re Australian … Did you even have a childhood?
Peter Combe – Newspaper Mama … 1988
Day 30 … A song that reminds you of yourself.
The one and only…
Enya – Wild Child
30 day song challenge – Day 24 – 26
I just felt really odd, posting a song the day after I posted 5 for one challenge, and then it didn’t feel right on ANZAC Day.
Day 24 – A song by a band that you wished were still together
I was oohhhing and arrring about this one. However, whenever there songs come on the radio, I know the words and all the dance moves. So…fight me! Also three of them are coming out here later in the year. I am SO getting tickets, even if my favourite isn’t coming, lol
Day 25 – A song you like by a artist no longer living
Isn’t the world a sadder place for having lost him. Also kind of ironic since it gets dark here now at 6pm. Yes, the Beatles sing it, but it’s George’s song!
George Harrison – Here comes the Sun
Day 26 – A song that makes you want to fall in love
So I am already in love, however! I want into my YouTube playlist of what I named “Someone or Something” It reminds me of someone … or … something … haha. What it also has though is a lot of lovey dovey songs, that I love listening to whenever I’m falling in love =D Also though I know what movie this belongs too…But try not to judge, I love the song, not the movie, lol
Love Me Like You Do – Song by Ellie Goulding, Video from the movie “50 Shades of Grey”.
A lot of the love songs I really love, are from movies I really dislike, haha.
30 day song challenge … Day 23
Day 23 – A song you think everybody should listen too.
In all honesty, I couldn’t think of just one. There are lot of good songs out there, all for different reasons. So I decided to list my top 5 of songs I feel that people should listen too. It’s my blog, I do what I like, haha
Song 1: Savage Garden – Affirmation
Song 2: Lindsey Stirling + Alexander Jean – Stampede
Song 3: Within Temptation – Mother Earth
Song 4: Band: The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus – Your Guardian Angel, Video – Blue Sapphire Girl
Song 5: Selena Gomez (I want her to be my daughter) – Kill em with kindness
30 Day song challenge … Day 22
Day 22 … A song that moves you forward
The one and only song that I close my eyes and moves me forward, at least spiritually. Close your eyes, take some deep breaths and listen to this song ❤
Jewel – Hands
