World Smile Day

World Smile Day – October 7, 2022. U.S. The first Friday of October is World Smile Day (October 7), a relatively new holiday with a fascinating story. Created by a commercial artist named Harvey Ball, this day came about as a response to his creation of the smiley face.

I want to think about all day, what makes you smile =D

What an interesting day, World Smile Day was..

How many people looked like this yesterday? Who could blame us! Generally everything was pretty okay, I think because I didn’t get into any fights. Any replies I did do, was all in response to friends and family…

Then it just got…weird,lol

The first thing that I woke up too were the Melania tapes. Which were needless to say, unpleasant. Good god, no wonder she’s still with Trump. They’re pretty much the same kind of person really.

Then Trump and Melania both tested positive for Covid19. Then a few hours later, people started to wonder if they were just faking. Whether that was to get out of the debate. My theory was, that they’re hoping the Melania tapes AND the debate will just leave the social conscious. And who could blame people?

Then there was some GOOD news for trans people in the UK. They are going to take the recent GRA reform and actually DEBATE it in Parliament. Which is absolutely good news! For those who don’t know. They’ve recently reformed some “rules” for the transgender community in the UK. Generally, not much changed, and they took away self-ID. They did make the certificate cheaper though. A

They asked the public, for suggestions, consultations etc. They decided to ignore the results, which were overwhelmingly in favour for more trans rights. I also think 100% that Rowlings little cults, influenced it too. But they blamed TRA’s (Trans Right Acitvists) for skewing the results, and that they said TOO much…Which, what did they think was going to happen?

So they changed the Reform, and THEN the results from the consultations, came out…One, TRA’s weren’t the only group of people who made suggestions and consulted, and they weren’t even the biggest group in favour of more trans rights. I have no idea WHY, they thought they could just ignore that, lol.

So while it was basically all good news. It’s just all … weird…you know?

World Smile Day!!!

I refuse to be unhappy today, so needless to say, I am not any social media today! Hahahaha…So first things first, this song makes me smile…which reminds me, I should listen to it more.

What’s the biggest screw up in the kitchen that you were responsible for?

Well people who know me would make fun of me just being in the kitchen. I am just not a cooker at all. Mainly though because no one ever let me cook really. If I tried people would get frustrated with me because I was slow, but that was because no one would let me cook. At least I didn’t burn two minute noodles! The biggest screw up in the kitchen I’ve “done” is breaking the bin…But I knew it was going to happen, because it was already over filled and when that happens the lid gets stuck. Since we had people over Mum decided to get everyone to look at me and say “Shows you how often Lauren takes the bin out”. It was so awkward.

What, in your opinion, makes people believe absurd conspiracy theories?

I think it’s both a lack of life experience and not getting out enough and someones upbringing. As much as I despise generalisations, they are there for a reason.

In 40 years what will people be nostalgic for?

I think we’ll be nostalgic for what we are nostalgic for now. The circle keeps spinning. They have just recently been bringing back all my old childhood toys. It’s been weird!lol

Is a hot dog a sandwich?

I think so. It’s got bread, in a roll form and it had a filling.

What wonderful thing happened to you this week that you’d like to share?  It can be a gratitude moment or something that just made you feel very happy at the time or made you laugh.

I have had a really good week. I was told that some of my ex friends were talking shizzle about me on their Facebook pages and I didn’t care. I expected it, they’ve been doing this since High School, they still stalk their ex’s pages. It was though the first time I realised how sad they are, they are supposed to be going through the happiest time of their lives right now…and they’re talking about me? Making other people feel weird and uncomfortable, showing who they truly are.

Do you prefer Apple (‘I’ products) or Android for your technology ‘fix’?

Since I’ve always had Android, I guess that I prefer Android for my fix. The only thing I really have that’s an Apple is my Ipod and it’s already really old, lol….It had to be nearly 10 years old at least.

What’s something on your personal bucket list?

I want to go to Greece/Rome and see all of the Ancient sites. There was one point where I wanted to go to Egypt as well. However, as time as gone on, I’m just not as interested anymore. I love the History of Egypt still, but just don’t want to go there as much anymore. If I win a competition, I’d go. I’m not really sure why, but Greece and Rome are still on that list.

What would you name your boat if you had one?   The Unsinkable 3? The Please Don’t Sink? Your choice! Also, what would it look like? Do you want a motor yacht, a sailboat, or perhaps a dinghy?

(I like the “Please Don’t Sink” one,lol).

I think I would need to name it something cheery, like “The SunFlower” or the “RoseBud”…Don’t know why I can only think of Flowers, lol.

Which fictional character would be the most boring to meet in real life?

Edward Cullen…I am not even sorry, lol…Actually either Edward Cullen or Anastasia “Ana” Steele…Once again, not sorry, lol

And finally:

What brought gratitude, a smile or laughter to your life this week?

It’s been a good week, just overall and even with a cold. It’s actually been really good. I started off the week at my first concert since I had my anxiety attack last year. I did so good, I nearly had a little moment and saw all these people around. After that I just kept looking straight ahead. It’s just been a good week, you know what I mean? Nothing exciting, just all good.

This Week’s Questions:

Are You A Better Listener or Speaker?

I am definitely a better listener, people come to me a lot with needing someone to listen to them. Speaking, my brain tends to go faster than my mouth, so it’s makes no sense. One of the reasons I love to Blog, I can write what I am thinking. Then can rewrite or edit if it’s all jumbled up.  Sometimes I can think faster than I write as well!

If You Were Asked To Design A Warning Label That Would Be Tattooed On Your Skin, What Would It Say?

(Credit for this question goes to a blogger I’ve just started following.  You can read more about her by clicking here. )

I’m stealing a quote here “And though she may be but little, she is fierce”

What Are You Passionate About?

I think I am passionate about anything that is creative. Anyway to look at something in a new way. I love coming up with new new ideas that I can use creatively.

If You Could Change One Thing About Your World, What Would It Be?

I wish that I wasn’t such a bad procrastinator! I am probably one of the worst, you’ll ever meet! I’ve got all these projects started and then…that’s it. I wish I could change that about myself.

And Finally:

What Gave You A Reason To Smile This Past Week?

I started a diary, one that you actually write in, not like a Blog. A personal diary.

SYW – Revisited

This is the first ‘official” Share Your World from “Sparks”.    Cee is thoughtfully going to watch over the first couple of these to make sure the transition is smooth.

Rules

‘I will post four different questions each week for you to answer.  There are two ways which you can participate.

  1. Create a SYW  post.  Then post the link to your blog in my comment box or leave your answers in the comments box of my blog.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Share Your World”  and link it to this post.
  3. Remember to Follow My Blog to get your weekly reminders.

I usually will respond to your entry on your blog, rather than on my page.”

Our Questions Today:

When you are old, what do you think children will ask you to tell stories about?   If you are ‘old’ (a term with different meanings for everyone); what stories do you tell your grandchildren?

Oh wow, good question! I can’t honestly say that I’m even sure what they’d want to know or what would be appropriate. One thing I have thought about that I would want to tell my daughters before it happens. When they get their little monthly friend, to come to me straight away. When I got mine, I went into denial and then was horribly upset because I thought something was wrong with me. I was so frightened! I’m not sure though that’s the kind of stories they’d want to hear, lol

When did something start out badly for you but in the end, it was great?

I think it was my current job, when I initially was told about it. We were told that it was to work in the Library, not the admin part of the TAFE. So when we came in on the first day of work, I was very shocked…and then panicked that I wouldn’t be able to do the job at all. Yet now, I really enjoy my work. I love my co-workers, they are beautiful human beings.

What do you think you are much better at than you actually are?   Maybe this one’s kinda mean…thoughts?

I don’t think it’s a mean question, but I am perfectly perfect in every way =P. Being witty is one of my downfalls though. I try, but I know I am terrible at it. My brother is SO good at it!

What would be the worst thing to hear as you are going under anesthesia before surgery?

Anything in Dr. Nick Riviera voice really, lol

and we’ll keep the affirmations and upbeat question just as Cee had it:

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

I did SO much unintentional walking this week. Although my feet were killing me in the end, my leg didn’t flare up with sciatica =D Which is fantastic!

Do you prefer eating foods with nuts or no nuts?

It honestly depends on what I’m eating them with. Some things taste better and sometimes they make no sense!

Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?

They are usually closed, but it’s not because I’m afraid of some boogie monster or anything. They are just usually closed…Also sometimes it hides the mess, lol.

Are you usually late, early, or right on time?

I always makes sure that I am at least 5-10 minutes early. It gives you time to get your bearings. Especially in a new place, if you are unsure of where things are. It gives you a couple of minutes to find people and places. I used to have a friend who was ALWAYS late for our gatherings and I find that so disrespectful and rude! We used to have always wait before we could order. It got to the point where we’d lie about the time we were meeting, why should we have to do that? Surprisingly she was never late for work, just us.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

I am smiling because I have survived this week by myself. I haven’t been by myself for a night since my massive panic attack. I was truly terrified to spending, pretty much, a week by myself. The first couple of days were tough, but then we had this gorgeous beautiful sunny day and it just made me feel so better and then I’ve been great ever since.
