Snuggle Up!

There has to be someone in the neighborhood with a open fireplace. At night lately, when I open the front door I can smell that open fireplace. Even though I’m standing there with the door open and it’s freezing still. Somehow the smell of that fireplace makes me feel warm. Which makes me wonder if I could get that scent, and a fake fireplace, how much would that trick my brain into feeling warm.

Have you ever managed to trick your brain into something?

Share Your World … Week 50

Can you believe that we are up too Week 50?! Only two more weeks left of the whole year!

What is your favorite smell? What memory does it remind you of?

I have a few different ones that I love, especially when they “match” with a particular season. For example, I love the smell of freshly mowed grass when it’s Spring and I love the smell of rain coming during Summer, because you know there’ll be a thunderstorm coming. I love the smell of a beach during Summer and I love the smell of cocoa during Winter. Personally as well I love the smell of men’s aftershave, it just does things to me. Sometimes I’ll follow my partner around the house because I love how he smells when he puts it on,lol

What type of pet do you have or want to have?

I already have a dog, a chihuahua to be more specific. There are so many animals that I would love to have as a pet though, but it’s just wrong. Like your Lions, Wolves and Owls. Animals like that should never ever be pets.

Are you usually late, early, or right on time?

I will always try to get somewhere at least 10 minutes early. It might have been the way I was brought up, but it just seems more respectful. Even being “on time” can put you into a rush. It’s amazing how much you can do and how much you can sit and take deep breaths when you give yourselves 10 minutes. For example, I try to get to job interviews 10 minutes early, so I can do things like pop into the toilets and refresh myself. I have a friend that whenever we get to together socially, she is always late. It drives me nuts! She’s never late for work, so why not show the same respect? Sometimes we can’t get table until she’s there and we can’t order until she’s there. One of our friends has actually started lying to her about the time to make sure she get’s there reasonably on time…And she still manages to be at least a few minutes late each time.

For recharging, would you rather meditate, swim, walk, listen to music, write, read, yoga, qigong other?

There’s usually two things I do to recharge. I either read or I play a computer game that I enjoy and doesn’t make me “rage”. At the moment the two games that I use to recharge are “The Sims” and “Guild Ward 2”. Both these games relax me because they’re not too complicated for me and I usually end up playing them for a while, without even realising how much time as passed.

Share Your World … Week 42

If you wanted to de-clutter where you live, what room / space would you start with?  (And why, if you’re feel like admitting to it.)

This is actually a funny question, I am currently de-cluttering my own room. If I get into a “mood” that is usually where I first go too, I have so much stuff to get rid off and I’m planning on moving out. Also, it just feels like the right time to start getting rid of stuff, there’s a lot of clothes I’ve never worn, that sort of thing. New chapter and all that.

If you want to remember something important, how do you do it (sticky note on the fridge, string around your finger, etc.), and does it work?

I “text myself” and by that I mean, I will write a text message to myself. It does work actually work me. Even if I just write down some key words, and it does seem to work.

If you could create a one room retreat just for yourself, what would be the most important sense to emphasize:  sight (bright natural light, dim light, etc.), hearing (silence, music, fountain, etc.), smell (candles, incense, etc), touch (wood, stone, soft fabrics, etc.), or taste (herbal tea, fresh fruit, etc.)?

This is a good question! It would have to smell, there is nothing worse than a horrible smell, it can be really off putting to me. Think about when you open your bin or your fridge and there is some kind of funky smell. I don’t know about anyone else but that instantly puts me off, it makes me instantly tense. A nice smell makes me feel relaxed and happy.

If you could interview one of your great-great-great grandparents, who would it be (if you know their name) and what would you ask?

My family on either side sound completely fascinating, I would love to interview my Great great great grandparents. I would honestly not know who to choose.

Food Glorious Food!

Most random of thoughts I had last night while dinner was being made. There’s this particular meal I don’t really enjoy. By “not enjoying” I mean I just think the meal taste kind of bland. Just can’t seem to get the same taste of when we go out and eat stir fry.

However, whenever when we cook the food it has this incredible amazing smell that makes me so hungry.

Does anyone else have a food like that? Or a vice a versa, where it smells horrible but tastes amazing?

What is your most favorite smell/scent?

I LOVE the smell of a nice smelling man! That aftershave, phew! I can be completely involved in something else and not concentrating and some guy walks past me and he smells good, I always look!

Do you prefer long hair or short hair for yourself?

Long hair! My hair is pretty much a little bit more than halfway down my back, the closest that I have ever come to having it short was my mum “accidentally” cut my hair unevenly and we had to cut it up to my shoulders to make it short. I know that everyone would love to seem me with some sort of pixie hair cut, but it is never going to happen…NEVER!

Do you plan out things usually or do you do them more spontaneous (for example if you are visiting a big city you don’t know?)

Most of my things I like to plan as much as is humanly possible. As the years have gone on though I’ve learnt to relax more. The only time I like to stick to a plan is when I have something booked in and the time, place (etc) can’t be rearranged, then I stick to the plan. If it’s something though like just going out to have a few drinks with some friends, I can “go with the flow”.

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

When the weather is perfect, I like to take a cup of tea and read my book =P Hey, it’s outside! = Outdoor activity.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I think that this week will be an interesting…Lets go with the flow =D
