I’m just casually wondering if any of you have a “season rule”. What I mean by this, for example. Too me it isn’t really “Spring” until I can go at least 4-5 days without wearing a cardigan or jumper. As I write this the weather the last couple of days (over the weekend basically) were beautiful. Then today, Monday, it feels like we’re back in Winter. So it means to me to not worry about my cooler wearing clothes for a little longer. If any of that makes sense? I have to different draws for my tops. One is for the warmer weather tops and the other is for the colder weather tops.
What did you or did not like about the first place you lived without your parents?
WELL…lol…The mistake I made was moving with a few friends whose one parents owned the house. Which meant they could do anything they wanted, and we could not. We also paid our rent on time (we paid our money directly to our ‘friends’parents, not through a landlord…BIG MISTAKE!) and yet the amount of times we had the water cut off was ridiculous! The thing that made us even angrier, I was the last person to move in. Instead of the rent being less for everyone, I had to pay the exact amount of money, and they had to keep paying the same amount of money…So they were getting MORE money and yet the water STILL kept being cut off. No one lives there anymore, lol.
Oh! Oh! Even if you were in a couple, we EACH had to pay $400 a month. So you couldn’t divide it between you. We had 6 people living there one time and we ALL paying $400 and still the water was getting cut off.
What is your most favorite smell/scent?
I have these black candles “Madison French – Moonlight Mist” They smell beautiful…I haven’t even burnt them yet! I buy some every time they have them, but they have them so few times, that I don’t want to burn them. I only have about 5 or 6 and I haven’t seen any of them for over year now.
Would you prefer snowy winters, or not, and why?
I have never even seen a snow in Winter…I come from “Down Under”. So we don’t really get snow in Winter, up in the mountains in Victoria I believe they do…Not really anywhere else. So I cannot honestly answer, I’d probably enjoy a snowy day for that…a day, lol…I am no good with cold.
What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
I usually do these posts on a Friday because it’s give me a whole week to reflect from the last one. I can’t help but start to dream of Summer though even before Friday. Due to me being in the Southern Hemisphere, we are heading towards the colder weather. Each day is getting that little more warmer. Hence why I am writing this Blog earlier than I usually do, because being cold makes me think of all the lovely warm things Summer brings with it.
15. Things you like Spring/Autumn (it’s Autumn here at that time)
I’m just going to start with saying that it’s actually Autumn here at the moment, instead of Spring like it is overseas. Spring is probably my favourite month of the year though, Winter is gone and it’s not yet really hot like it is in Summer.
“That moment when you are struggling in the heat because there has been no Spring and it was just kind of skipped, straight onto Summer, and you didn’t even realise it”.
I was very interested to find out that today, in my state, is the date of June Solstice (the 21st) early in the morning.
What is the June Solstice, I hear you ask? Well I shall tell you.
The June or Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere is the shortest day of the year, while in the Northern hemisphere it is considered to be the longest day of the year. Now by “longest” and “shortest” I mean the amount of daylight during that one day. The June solstice is the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. Usually it happens anywhere between the 20th and the 22nd, depending on your time zone.
You can look up your local time for the Winter or Summer Solstice via this link.
So it’s one month until December…It may not exactly be a “storm” but December, Christmas month and last month of the year can get a little crazy!
So for the next month at least, I will be posting links to literary type pages that I think have good gifts for people that you might want to consider getting for your literary friends.

Today is the first day of Spring, and it’s really grey and cold outside, when it has been so pretty the rest of the week. Spring is my favourite time of the year and it’s here again! This Winter has felt so cold and grey for such a long time, I didn’t even have to put on my heater this morning to get ready =D Despite the horrible weather, it’s still kind of warm =D
I HATE Winter, I swear it’s been so cold this year and I know that last weekend we had one of our coldest days is quiet a few years. This year has been particularly rough though. Last weekend was cold in Melbourne and when I came home it was freezing, much colder than Melbourne, which was odd. This weekend I spent the weekend with my partners family and I was freezing.
What do you all like to do when it’s cold? Generally if I’m by myself I’ll cuddle up with a blanket and luckily my puppy means that she loves sitting on my lap and is like a little water bottle. This weekend was horrible because there was no heating in the little granny flat we were in and it got below 0! I don’t deal well with the cold and I hate not being able to have a little heater around to just take the edge off while I get changed. My bones and everything just hurt. I hate it…
This is mainly a rant blog because it’s so cold and now I’m home and all warm and it does feel magical. I feel my body coming to life again.
Are you, my dear readers, a Winter or a Summer person…Or even a Spring or Autumn person?
