What to say

Over the night between Thursday and Friday, my aunt passed away.

Before you start to say “I am so sorry for your loss”, here’s what I’m having trouble with.

She was unwell for a long time, and although you know she’s not in pain anymore, it’s still sad. Like, she’s not in pain and that’s happy, but she’s gone so that is sad. It’s not a sudden thing, but it’s still sad.

This is what I mean by I don’t know what to say.

She had some kind of removal quiet a few years ago, I think gall bladder? Unfortunately, her stomach got nicked and she developed septicemia. She did recover from that, which was lucky. Then though, she had a stroke a couple of months later. Which is then, she was put into a home. She might have been able to recover from that, if she had been bothered, but she wasn’t. So she kind of just slowly succumb. She was the youngest person in her home.

When I wrote this on FB, they said that it was good. I don’t know though.

it’s darkest before the dawn

The phrase it’s darkest before the dawn means that things always seem the worst right before they improve.

I think a lot of us are going right now “Dear god, that darkest part of the night is taking a long time”.

I am refusing to let the darkness take me, especially since I’m asleep usually at that time.

This is going to be a short post, but it is darkest before the dawn. Sadly, there is something rotten in this world, and it is not COVID. It should be COVID, it really should, but it is not. COVID is not the worst thing on this planet, it’s us, it’s Humans.

HOWEVER…

There are good humans, there are good beings out there. You are one of them! And that, we need to remember and hold onto. I think the biggest problem is, the worst of us, have the biggest platforms.

But, we are here.

It’s a Zoo out there!

Over the weekend I hope that you got to see the very awesome that is Zola the Gorilla! If not here he is.

I thought that it was a fantastic little video, and according to animal experts it shows that he is comfortable and content.

However, of course, all the “Zoo’s are jail” people tweeters came out. Now I am watching Safari Live and just my whole life. There is nothing better than seeing an animal in the Free, just roaming down, doing what they do best. However, I also understand Zoo’s, not all Zoo’s mind you are good for conservation and people (mainly children) getting their ever first sighting of a “real animal” rather than on a screen. Also a lot of animals in Zoo’s are rescued from other areas where humans have come in caused destruction.

What I cannot stand though are those people who tweet and say how terrible it is, but that’s it…Unless you have no heart, I think we can all agree that we’d prefer them to be out in the wild. But what does it help if you constantly tweet things, and then that’s it? Does it make them feel better that we all can agree they deserve to be in the wild? What exactly what do they achieve, other than some kind of smugness?

Zola the Gorilla is well taken care, happy and safe…and teaching hundreds of people about them. A lot better off than some others out there and your “tweet” does pretty much stuff all…Unless you DO something! If you asked Zola I’m sure he’d wonder why if you’re so upset about it, the best you can do is a “tweet” for him?
