You can’t save anyone if you never show up

I initially thought of the topic of this post when I was “talking”…I was not arguing with a Trump supporter about how this person I was talking to, how Trump was going to save us anyhow…As I pointed out…The topic was about how Trump STILL has not visited the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Poor baby Trump gets attacked all the time, so what else should we expect?…You know how Obama was never attacked, Clinton…Bush…You see where I’m went with this…I didn’t have to argue with them, because they are stupid, lol

But honestly,

How can you ever save people if you are just to s&*t scared to ever show up?

In that moment, I had a bit of a life lesson.

It was like the time a friend called me passive aggressive because I hadn’t told her before how it’s not alright that she doesn’t show up to anything anymore. How she’s hurt a lot of other people. She couldn’t just come to that conclusion on her own apparently. I have to tell you you don’t tell your “family/sister” that you’re busy and can’t turn up to their birthday, conveniently, every single time for the last few years. Yet, you’re on Facebook all night, to impress your new friends? …As you still call us “family” I have to tell you that that’s not right? You can’t figure that one out?

If you are not going to show up, you don’t get to have a go at anybody else.

Christmas in July…Kinda

A few years ago, I was just a student and was not making much money, pretty much nothing. I was on, I think America and Europe call it Welfare. However, one of the bad thing about being on Welfare, I wasn’t always able to give the best Christmas presents.

Until one year, I came up with a solution and I’ve used it ever since, even now that I work. From the beginning of June, I put away an round amount every fortnight. So if my bank account had 232.57, I would put 32.57 dollars into my savings account, the day before I got “paid” my welfare.

Then from the end of July, I start to get little bits and pieces. I usually get three presents for my Mum, Dad and Brother…and if I’m dating someone I do the same thing. Two presents are usually something a little smaller and then one “big” one. One top of that, until last year I used to get a present for my very best friends and my mothers side have a ‘secret Santa’.

What do you do, are you a Christmas Eve shopper, do you plan ahead? How many of you write Christmas cards?

Save the Wildlife!

This is definitely a depressing topic but I feel like it’s one that needs to get out there because this is rapidly becoming a global problem (especially since this is being caused by a lot of Westerners).

Bodies of dozens of elephants found poisoned in Zimbabwe

The article was written and placed into the online articles at  The Guardian – Australia (it IS a global problem). So what I am also going to do is place the article into my Blog here. I did not write this article, this is not my material.

“No arrests made after rangers in Hwange national park discover carcasses of 26 elephants killed by cyanide poisoning

Rangers in Zimbabwe’s Hwange national park have discovered the carcasses of 26 elephants at two locations, dead of cyanide poisoning along with 14 other elephants which were found last week.

Patrolling rangers discovered the carcasses on Tuesday, according to the Bhejane Trust and the National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority. The Bhejane Trust undertakes joint animal monitoring and welfare work with the parks agency.

A parks spokeswoman, Caroline Washaya Moyo, said 14 tusks had been recovered from these elephants but the others had not been recovered. She said rangers had found 16 of the elephants in the Lupande area and 10 others in Chakabvi.

Washaya-Moyo said no arrests have been made and investigations were in progress. Rangers recovered 1kg (2.2lb) of cyanide and are increasing patrols in the park, she said. Cyanide is widely used in Zimbabwe’s mining industry and is easy to obtain.

“The poachers were probably disturbed by rangers on patrol, which is why some of the tusks were recovered. Cyanide poisoning is becoming a huge problem here and we are struggling to contain it,” said Trevor Lane, a founder of the Bhejane Trust and a leading wildlife conservationist.

Last week, the parks agency reported that 14 elephants had been poisoned by cyanide in three separate incidents. In 2013, as many as 300 elephants died in Hwange park after poachers laced salt pans with cyanide.

On Monday, the environment, water and climate minister, Oppah Muchinguri, blamed the increase in poaching on a US ban on hunting Zimbabwean elephants for sport.

“All this poaching is because of American policies. They are banning sport hunting. An elephant would cost $120,000 in sport hunting but a tourist pays only $10 to view the same elephant,” she said, adding that money from sport hunting was crucial in conservation efforts.”

Racing Extinction

I don’t know how many of you know about this or have already seen this, but I would have loved to have been there. I don’t think watching it on a computer screen is really doing it that much justice.

On the first of August 2015, New York and Racing Extinction put on a very impressive light show. On the side of the Empire State Building there was a huge light show. What was showing on the building were pictures of the animals that are considered endangered and are close to becoming extinct.

The filmmakers behind the project calls “Racing Extinction” say they hope it will draw attention and inspire a global conversation about the plight of endangered species. Their documentary is due to air on Discovery channel in December. The live video projection will be on display tomorrow from 9 p.m. till midnight.

Dye to save the animals!

I think that if you are a regular reader of mine you will know that I am such a big support of saving endangered animals, literally any kind, even bees…and they can kill me! I strongly believe that any type of animals belongs to be here safely just as much as we do. I believe that human beings do not “own” the Earth.

There is a Facebook page that relates to the Safari Live web feed that I watch called “Djuma Djunkies” and I came across a post on the Facebook page of “The Amazing Wild Nature” This page has some amazingly inspirational stories about animals and saving them, there was one post in particular that caught my eye.

If you don’t wish to read the article I will break it down here. What they have come up with is this, a particular pink dye that they use on bank notes is now being put onto the husks and tucks of endangered animals, such as rhinoceroses and elephants. This makes the ivory on these animals completely wrecked and unusable, the dye also doesn’t harm the animals in any way. According to some of the comments it doesn’t always mean that the poachers will not shoot them, but I still think that it’s a better idea than none!.
