How many other people sit there watching Documentaries. It might be the Librarian in me, but watching them touching century old papers…WITH NO GLOVES!
I was recently watching a Documentary of letters between Tsar Nicholas II and Alexandra Feodornva (quickly, the father and mother of Princess Anastasia). The presenter was saying how surprised she was at how little the ink had faded…as she touched the ink. She appeared to have thumb tacks types things, which my mum and I presumed she was supposed to use to hold the paper…She didn’t use them.
World World Wildlife Day is about ALL wildlife, not just the ones you and I may like or dislike (Octopuses ya’ll! They are WAY too smart!) But yes, even those smart sneaky evil pants. ALL Wildlife. I also mention Octupuses because the theme for this year is:
I initially thought of the topic of this post when I was “talking”…I was not arguing with a Trump supporter about how this person I was talking to, how Trump was going to save us anyhow…As I pointed out…The topic was about how Trump STILL has not visited the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Poor baby Trump gets attacked all the time, so what else should we expect?…You know how Obama was never attacked, Clinton…Bush…You see where I’m went with this…I didn’t have to argue with them, because they are stupid, lol
How can you ever save people if you are just to s&*t scared to ever show up?
In that moment, I had a bit of a life lesson.
It was like the time a friend called me passive aggressive because I hadn’t told her before how it’s not alright that she doesn’t show up to anything anymore. How she’s hurt a lot of other people. She couldn’t just come to that conclusion on her own apparently. I have to tell you you don’t tell your “family/sister” that you’re busy and can’t turn up to their birthday, conveniently, every single time for the last few years. Yet, you’re on Facebook all night, to impress your new friends? …As you still call us “family” I have to tell you that that’s not right? You can’t figure that one out?
If you are not going to show up, you don’t get to have a go at anybody else.
Today is about any issues you want to find out, or what to know more about. It’s a good day to get started on any causes that you may have. Since there are probably a lot of people who are thinking the exact same things you are!
When you leave a room, do you turn the lights off behind you or keep the lights on throughout your house most of the time?
Uhhhh, well if I’ve watched a scary film, I am probably going to leave the lights on…for a while afterwards. Most other times I try to turn off as many lights as I can. My Dad just “taught” me how much energy it wasted. So I guess what most of the time I try to turn all the lights off, but my partner loves having all the lights on.
What do you feel is the most enjoyable way to spend $500?
I would actually try and save it in all honesty. I might go to a favourite store and see what specials are on, but I would generally try and save as much as I possibly could. $500 doesn’t go to far these days >.<
Complete this sentence: My favorite thing to do on my cell phone is…
Too take pictures of the cat and dog…So predictable, I know! =D
What inspired you this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
It’s been a pretty horrible week, just generally wise. Every where you look there’s been some truly terrible news and all my work places are annoying me. However, I taped a show this week that’s come back on Foxtel that came out a few years again, and I was cracking up!…I didn’t realise how long it had been since I had really laughed at a show. As much as I love some of the show I’m “obsessed” with, they are actually kind of depressing. I will post some of the video, but I will warnyou that he does use rude language. I am not lying when I say that this was the EXACT same skit I was watching.
A few years ago, I was just a student and was not making much money, pretty much nothing. I was on, I think America and Europe call it Welfare. However, one of the bad thing about being on Welfare, I wasn’t always able to give the best Christmas presents.
Until one year, I came up with a solution and I’ve used it ever since, even now that I work. From the beginning of June, I put away an round amount every fortnight. So if my bank account had 232.57, I would put 32.57 dollars into my savings account, the day before I got “paid” my welfare.
Then from the end of July, I start to get little bits and pieces. I usually get three presents for my Mum, Dad and Brother…and if I’m dating someone I do the same thing. Two presents are usually something a little smaller and then one “big” one. One top of that, until last year I used to get a present for my very best friends and my mothers side have a ‘secret Santa’.
What do you do, are you a Christmas Eve shopper, do you plan ahead? How many of you write Christmas cards?
This is definitely a depressing topic but I feel like it’s one that needs to get out there because this is rapidly becoming a global problem (especially since this is being caused by a lot of Westerners).
The article was written and placed into the online articles at The Guardian – Australia (it IS a global problem). So what I am also going to do is place the article into my Blog here. I did not write this article, this is not my material.
“No arrests made after rangers in Hwange national park discover carcasses of 26 elephants killed by cyanide poisoning
Patrolling rangers discovered the carcasses on Tuesday, according to the Bhejane Trust and the National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority. The Bhejane Trust undertakes joint animal monitoring and welfare work with the parks agency.
A parks spokeswoman, Caroline Washaya Moyo, said 14 tusks had been recovered from these elephants but the others had not been recovered. She said rangers had found 16 of the elephants in the Lupande area and 10 others in Chakabvi.
Washaya-Moyo said no arrests have been made and investigations were in progress. Rangers recovered 1kg (2.2lb) of cyanide and are increasing patrols in the park, she said. Cyanide is widely used in Zimbabwe’s mining industry and is easy to obtain.
“The poachers were probably disturbed by rangers on patrol, which is why some of the tusks were recovered. Cyanide poisoning is becoming a huge problem here and we are struggling to contain it,” said Trevor Lane, a founder of the Bhejane Trust and a leading wildlife conservationist.
Last week, the parks agency reported that 14 elephants had been poisoned by cyanide in three separate incidents. In 2013, as many as 300 elephants died in Hwange park after poachers laced salt pans with cyanide.
On Monday, the environment, water and climate minister, Oppah Muchinguri, blamed the increase in poaching on a US ban on hunting Zimbabwean elephants for sport.
“All this poaching is because of American policies. They are banning sport hunting. An elephant would cost $120,000 in sport hunting but a tourist pays only $10 to view the same elephant,” she said, adding that money from sport hunting was crucial in conservation efforts.”
