Have a cup of tea with me?

Everyone who read my Blog a bit will know how obsessed I am with Wild Earth #safarilive live stream dream. Mainly taken place in Djuma within the Sabi Sands. Now they’ve started selling merchandise and I finally got my hands on a piece of it!

2017-01-31-22-08-49

It is my own Safari Live mug/cup and I couldn’t be happier. I got in a greyish colour, because I anticipate drinking lots of tea and coffee and there will be lots of dredge marks on it. I have a couple of white cups and they just look messy after a while.

The only question that I have remaining is which book do I read while sipping from my new glorious cup? The front runner is the book that I have been reading the most at the moment and that is “Doctor Who: The Shakespeare Notebooks”. It’s the one I’ve been reading the most, but I really want to get started on Jodi Picoult “Small Great Things“. I’ve had it since Christmas and I haven’t even started it, I’ve had so many others from Christmas as well. Then there’s the new books I just got this week from Ellen Dugan called “Book of Witchery: Spells,Charms and Correspondences for every day of the week”.

I’ll guess you’ll just have to see and wait!

Safari Live coming to a television near you!…Well in the Us of A…Luckiness!

Just a reminder from today, for the month of January, if you live in the United States you can watch the Safari Live Drive, (the live-stream I am obsessed with) on the Nat Geo Wild channel. If you can’t watch it on the television you will still be able to watch it via Ustream (find here: SafariLiveUstream and the YouTube channel (find here: SafariLiveYouTube)

I will see you there!

Safari Live come to a television near you!…Well in the US of A

January 1st my American friends will be able to watch the Safari Live right own their own television via Nat Geo Wild. Looks like 2017 is starting off on a great note! Well for my American friends anyway. I can’t recommend watching this enough! I’ll still be able to watch via Ustream and YouTube…But the Americans will be able to watch it n tv. (I’ll probably write a post on January 1st again).

Here comes the rain again! = Big Cat Week (18/9-25/9)

For those who are regular readers of my Blog, you will know that I am obsessed with a particular Ustream tv program called “Wildearth Safari” or if you follow Twitter “#SafariLive”. I’ve been watching it for a couple of years or so now. You might have even watched it during Big Cat Week over the last couple of years, as during that week they put the drive live on television.

The last few months have been hard for the animals there, mainly the grass eater/prey type food. There has been a really bad drought and the last month in particular, you can tell how rough it has been getting. A lot of the predators have not even been hunting to much as the prey has been succumbing to the drought.

I am extremely happy to say then that last night and the day before Djuma received some rain!  https://twitter.com/graham_/status/777317528406220800 …

Coming from a country that also suffers a lot from droughts, I think it’s the only time I love hearing that rain is coming. I have been watching the live feeds with the sound turned up as the rain falls. The animals so desperately need it. It’s been so sad to see them getting worse and worse. Although on the other side the predators have been having an amazing time!

On a completely but kind of related topic…Just to let my American comrades know that this week is “Big Cat Week” on Nat Geo Wild and the drives will be showing. You should take complete advantage of this. I wish we had it here down under.

This week Cee’s Photography is taking a week off this week (and rightly deserved too…Head to her page and see the amazing weekly challenges she shares with us all) Cee’s Photography … But what do I do now?! I know I can give you all a Safari Live Update! It’s been nearly two months since I last gave you all one…Live Safari Update (21/09/15)

The first is the situation with the Birmingham Boys has calmed quiet a lot down. In fact there is the possibility that one of the prides of females from the Styx pride has given birth recently. Now I suspect that the fathers may actually be the Matimba Males…Lionesses however are actually quiet clever ladies.  So they have been “fake mating” with the Birmingham Boys. This where a lady cat (a lot of the big cats do it) will fake mate with a Male so that the reigning Males will believe that the little cubs are actually theirs.

The other thing to note that the two Matimba males have not gotten themselves into any death matches with the BBoys, they have however, taken off and have a whole new area that they patrol.

One of the more interesting stories to have come from the Matimba males is that of the sub-adult “Junior of the Nkuhuma Pride” He’s an unusual story in that he has no other brother that he would usually head off on his own with, instead he seems to be hanging around the Nkuhuma pride all the time. This unusual as Junior is now 3 and a half years old, usually by now Junior would have been chased off by his Father and Uncles. We’ve all grown quiet fond of Junior, but this is the African Wild life … Anything can happen! Don’t you just adore his little mane! =D (Although I shouldn’t tease, he couldn’t quite easily take me down!)

Styx Cubs!

As many…MANY…of you know I am obsessed with the live web feed called Safari Live and there are a whole range of different wild animals that we follow.

Anyways, my favourite animals (on the top there with Elephants and Hyenas) for most of my life has been the Lions/Lionesses. There are several different groups, some of who I may have mentioned before. The Birmingham Boys and the Matimba Males…Don’t mess with the Matimba males!

The Styx female Lionesses, two of them had broken off and one of the Lionesses had given birth to three little cubs. The most nerve wracking for a little cubs time is when they meet Daddy, which is not for a while. The Styx Cubs have finally met their Daddy and not only did he accept them, but someone got all the cutest pictures and I just wanted to share with you all! Styx cubs Styx cubs1 Styx cubs2
