Share Your World … August 14, 2017

When you leave a room, do you turn the lights off behind you or keep the lights on throughout your house most of the time?

Uhhhh, well if I’ve watched a scary film, I am probably going to leave the lights on…for a while afterwards. Most other times I try to turn off as many lights as I can. My Dad just “taught” me how much energy it wasted. So I guess what most of the time I try to turn all the lights off, but my partner loves having all the lights on.

What do you feel is the most enjoyable way to spend $500?

I would actually try and save it in all honesty. I might go to a favourite store and see what specials are on, but I would generally try and save as much as I possibly could. $500 doesn’t go to far these days >.<

Complete this sentence: My favorite thing to do on my cell phone is…

Too take pictures of the cat and dog…So predictable, I know! =D

What inspired you this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

It’s been a pretty horrible week, just generally wise. Every where you look there’s been some truly terrible news and all my work places are annoying me. However, I taped a show this week that’s come back on Foxtel that came out a few years again, and I was cracking up!…I didn’t realise how long it had been since I had really laughed at a show. As much as I love some of the show I’m “obsessed” with, they are actually kind of depressing. I will post some of the video, but I will warn you that he does use rude language. I am not lying when I say that this was the EXACT same skit I was watching.

I miss Dave Chappelle!

Share Your World … Week 42

If you wanted to de-clutter where you live, what room / space would you start with?  (And why, if you’re feel like admitting to it.)

This is actually a funny question, I am currently de-cluttering my own room. If I get into a “mood” that is usually where I first go too, I have so much stuff to get rid off and I’m planning on moving out. Also, it just feels like the right time to start getting rid of stuff, there’s a lot of clothes I’ve never worn, that sort of thing. New chapter and all that.

If you want to remember something important, how do you do it (sticky note on the fridge, string around your finger, etc.), and does it work?

I “text myself” and by that I mean, I will write a text message to myself. It does work actually work me. Even if I just write down some key words, and it does seem to work.

If you could create a one room retreat just for yourself, what would be the most important sense to emphasize:  sight (bright natural light, dim light, etc.), hearing (silence, music, fountain, etc.), smell (candles, incense, etc), touch (wood, stone, soft fabrics, etc.), or taste (herbal tea, fresh fruit, etc.)?

This is a good question! It would have to smell, there is nothing worse than a horrible smell, it can be really off putting to me. Think about when you open your bin or your fridge and there is some kind of funky smell. I don’t know about anyone else but that instantly puts me off, it makes me instantly tense. A nice smell makes me feel relaxed and happy.

If you could interview one of your great-great-great grandparents, who would it be (if you know their name) and what would you ask?

My family on either side sound completely fascinating, I would love to interview my Great great great grandparents. I would honestly not know who to choose.

Cleaning Spritz!

I am a weird human being, I actually enjoy cleaning…Okay, I enjoy cleaning up my stuff and the mess I made. When I go to somebody else’s house though I will help clean up, but I don’t enjoy it…Cleaning up my own room, my own house, my partners house…I really get a kick out of it.

We are heading into Winter, here Down Under. So not only is cleaning kind of a meditation for me, but it’s a good work out as well and keeps me nice and warm. I have also been trying to get rid of things and stuff, it’s been going on for about two years now and I am still going. Sure, it’s like one bag every three months or so, but I have a lot of stuff!

So readers, do you enjoy cleaning, what is your advice for Winter cleaning?

Literary Fears

There is a website that I just LOVE called “The Reading Room” It is an amazing site that has good reviews, recommendations, featured lists/themes, podcasts…You name it!

I was scrolling through their site, as one does, and I came across this really funny article “9 irrational fears we can blame on books” It was really funny because they very last one was about Apples because of the poisoned apple in Snow White and I just personally thought it was hilarious because when I was younger, I lived in fear of red apples, lol … You know, because I am Snow White, lol

What is your literary fear? (Be warned, the very first picture on here is of the spider from Harry Potter…So, if you are scared of spiders! Be Warned!)

Share Your World – Week 19

Share Your World – 2015 Week #19

Share Your World

This week’s questions are all about your home, whether it be a house, a mansion, a trailer, an apartment, or treehouse.  I hope you enjoy this mini theme version of Share Your World.

If you have a TV, would you prefer the TV in the living room or another room?

I have a tv in my living room and in my bedroom and there are benefits and negatives to both. I enjoy having a tv in my room, especially at the moment. We’re heading into Winter and lying in bed at night with the rain pouring outside of my window, is heaven. I feel really isolated though if I stay in my room for too long, I’m not out being social and talking with my mum and playing with my puppy. Which is funny because when I got the tv everyone was worried I’d never come out of my room and I’ve found I like it, the convenience is great. I need real people though too!lol

Would you prefer a one floor house or multiple levels?

I actually live in a “town-house” which is a type of small house, but it’s two levels. I prefer a one floor house. There are just some days where you are sick (self-inflicted or not) and it can be hard to get up those stairs. The amount of times that I have fallen both up and down the stairs as well. My partner last weekend fell down on his socks down our stairs and his back still hurts =/

When you leave a room, do you turn the lights off behind you or keep the lights on throughout your house most of the time? Explain your answer.

If I’m alone at night, I tend to leave a lot of the lights on. I will turn the lights off if I’m watching a movie, but I make sure that my puppy is sitting with me. I turn all the lights off usually in my day to day business.

What’s your favorite room in your home?

I pretty much love every single room. I am such a homebody, I come home from work and it’s the only time that I can get changed in a minute, get out of my work clothes and into my comfy clothes. Home is where my heart is and home is where I feel the safest.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Definitely my partner, I can’t believe how sweet and patient that he has been with me. My last relationship left me broken and I felt like I could never let anyone back into my life again. He hasn’t just proven me wrong, but he’s helped me become stronger.
This week I am looking forward to it being a quiet week and not having to go out and “shine” so to speak. It’s going to be pretty relaxing and I haven’t had that in a while.
