You can’t block God…Magic Monday #11

You know I’m more spiritual than religious…

But you can’t block God.

You can’t block God from your bad thoughts, you can’t block God your bad motivation. You can’t block God from seeing how you treat others. I don’t get how so many “Religious” people don’t seem to get that.

I know some really lovely Religious folks, from all Religions…Okay, maybe not Satanism (that’s a joke, lol) God and Jesus, seem like pretty okay guys. (There is a joke that God is a Republican and Jesus is a Liberal). But how can so many people who claim to follow these two, be SO horrible. Be the complete opposite of what I think God and Jesus stand for.

It’d be like following Martin Luther King Jr and being a white supremacist…IT MAKES NO SENSE! COMPLETE OPPOSITES. I know that they can get a “pardoned” there at the end there. But it’s not there as some kind of dare to then be the most horrible person on the planet..

…I’m having a drink,lol.

Just a reminder…

Scientologist …

…That’s it. Somehow my mum and I missed the live audience that Leah Remini and Mike Rinder did for Scientologist that had escaped and had been apart of their series somehow. In fact I am pretty sure it was the last episode of their last series (with hopefully more to come). So we finally got to watch it. Good god, how is Scientology getting away with so much? I don’t know which is worst, paedophile priests or just Scientologist in general. Some of the stories were horrific!

I feel like people are starting to scrutinise churches a lot more these days, with all those paedophiles in the Church. Yet, Scientology seems to be getting a free pass…with everything.

Powerfully True

With a week to go till Christmas this is such a powerful thread and such a powerful messages. Read it first before you make a judgement about it. This message is so powerful! Also, no, they haven’t been locked up for safety reasons, lol

Testify!

I saw a very interesting thought today and I was wondering what you all thought. I’m just going to say that I am not religious, but I am spiritual. While I have no problem with Religion as it stands alone. I do and will always have problems with extremists of any nature, or anyone who uses their Religion to hurt or discriminate. I don’t believe that’s what any religion is supposed to be “used” for.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here. But I’m pretty sure God was a Republican (that whole Old Testament thing). But Jesus was definitely a Democrat (that whole New Testament thing).

“The man who received death threats for taking his wive’s surname”

You are NOT a follower of God or anything that is supposed to be peace and love. Now I am not a religious person, I’m more of a spiritual person. I do not believe for one moment that God’s thing is to send death threats and threaten infertility on a couple because a man wants to take his wives last name.

The biggest problem I have with some religious people (not all) is that they interpret and use the wording of the various Bible’s to their own meanings. I wish I could find the tweet. Using “All I have to do is ask God for Forgiveness when they die” For the “okay” on their horrible behaviour…I found this brilliant Tweet about how Jesus talked about Churches and used rocks as an example to make strong foundations from. Some people took this literally and built Churches…But what if that’s not what it means? From a more spiritual point of view this person explained (and I am going to keep looking for it!) Jesus was coming from a more “spiritual” point of view. The rock is a strong foundation, it’s very hard if not impossible to move stone, especially when you have a group of it together. He wasn’t talking about building Churches, he was talking a spiritual foundation. The heart of what a religion should be, the foundation from your hearts. Not a literal building…and have to agree with her!

Many people who are this nasty, tend to go to Churches on Sunday, to “cleanse” them of their Sins. How about not going to a building to cleanse themselves, how about they just be a nice person instead?

World Religion Day

Usually I don’t post on the weekends unless something really amazing happens to me, or is going to happen to me. Now I am not even a religious person, but I am what is called an “Agnostic”. Which means I believe there is something out there, may not be “God” or “Gods/Goddesses”, but something else as well. Now this day is not a Public Holiday so all the shops will be open today and this day is always held on the third Sunday in the month of January.

Many organizations celebrate the day by holding interfaith events where faith leaders get together to give talks and lectures. People are encouraged to talk to and listen to people from faiths different than their own and to understand the basic tenets of other religions.

Religion is SUCH  hot topic these days. I just think we should “observe” this day. We have millions of people who have some kind of Faith and I don’t know about everyone else, but I am tired of everyone trying to make everyone else trying to be the “true religion”. Humans Beings are inherently different, the chance of you being exactly like someone else, even with identical twins, is very highly unlikely.

The third Sunday in January is annually celebrated as World Religion Day. It was established by the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of the United States in 1950 as a way to encourage interfaith understanding.

I believe that Religion while it definitely does damage, especially when it’s in the wrong hands. Can do just as much good, and this is what I am fighting for, I have seen it. I don’t think that it’s going to ever happen in my lifetime, but I believe it will eventually happen.

Welcome to my multicultural life…

Blame the alcohol, blame the tired mind from a long week. I really do love my multicultural life.

I have gay people, religious people, jock people, nerdy people and they are all truly wonderful in their own little ways. However, I do feel extremely uncomfortable whenever I have to read someone saying that we should get rid of “that whole group”. Doesn’t really matter which way it goes, it really doesn’t. Whenever you say “all” of a group, to me, you become lesser than that WHOLE group.

Sure, get rid of the extremist in any group, they are typically always dangerous and really feed the hatred and fear.

But anyone who can say this man should be “gotten rid of” has something seriously wrong with them!

Easter Monday

I hope that you have all been having a really great Easter Weekend, and I am sorry if you had to work over it. I’m not sure about countries overseas, here in Australia though, we have the Friday, Sunday and Monday as Public Holidays, so it’s a nice long weekend.

Easter Monday (obviously) comes the day after Easter Sunday (or in my case, Happy Chocolate Day)…Easter Monday can also be known as “Bright Monday” or “Renewal Monday”. I kind of like those two names, it feels like you start the week brightly and renewed sense after not having such a long time off of work since around Christmas time. Of course you can take it in the literal sense of Jesus Christ coming back to life after three days.

What did you all do with your weekend? I hope it was sweet!

Easter Friday (Another one =P)

Another year, another Friday Easter (not that I’m complaining…Hot Cross Buns for the win every time!) Did anyone notice that they were selling Easter Eggs early this year, or was it just me? As I have been previously informed though not everyone has hot cross buns, so here’s a picture of one and a lovely recipe.
