Thursday Theories – Cartoons Brought to Life

So, I went to see the second Suicide Squad, I didn’t see the first one. I am a huge fan of the animated Harley Quinn, so I didn’t like the whole blue and pink outfits, or the one Hyena. Give me two hyena or none at all. However, I actually wanted to see this one.

Harley Quinn had her black and red (which I can see all the girls and some boys wearing), and I have a huge crush on Irdris Elba, adore John Cena. I’m not going to reveal anything. However, I really did love it. The cast were fantastic, great music and lovely back stories.

It did make me think though, I did adore Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. She was very energetic and fun and crazy, and what you’d want in “real life” Harley Quinn. Unlike the cartoons though, there was just that little bit lacking. She was great though. I jsut got thinking though

How many times have we been disappointed, or loved, from seeing a favourite character come to life on the big screen?

Ghosted: Love Gone Missing

I don’t normally write about tv shows, unless you know, it’s related to real life. Ghosted: Love Gone Missing is probably one of my most favourite reality tv shows. I didn’t put it in “” because I think it is actually based on reality.

It’s a really good show, and isn’t about your typical “love” stories, it’s mainly around friendship. It might be about romantic relationships, but I have yet to see any. The ones I have seen have all been about relationships.

The basis of the show is one person contacts the show, talking about how one day they were suddenly ghosted by someone. Now “Ghosted” means that you stop talking to someone day, usually someone that you are/were in a close relationship with. The hosts normally try to sus out why that person thinks they were ghosted. They normally can’t think of a reason…

That’s when they try to contact the “Ghoster”. That’s when the actual truth of the matter comes out. I have to yet to see one, where it wasn’t a REALLY good reason.

What makes this show different, is that after a conversation, that both parties get to choose whether or not they want to stay “Ghosted”. So far, I’ve only seen one friendship both say that they want to stay Ghosted, and again, it was a really good reason.

Mental Health vs Social Media

As it gets closer to Christmas, for some this time of year is just SO hard. Now I want to start off this next bit being completely honest. I don’t like Justin Bieber or Hailey Baldwin. I think separately I’ve never really liked them and together I like them even less. The reason I bring them up though is because Hailey Baldwin was complaining about how bad social media is for mental health with all the nasty comments she receives.

Why has anyone said it was good for mental health?

First, as above, duh. Social media especially when you are not nice people to begin with are not going to be nice to to you. Selena Gomez could tell you that one. There’s a difference between Hailey and Selena though. Every now and then Selena will actually come off of social media. It is not for complete random strangers to take care of your mental health. It’s YOUR responsibility. Reality is, there are always going to be nasty people. That is reality, put yourself first. As someone who is not a celebrity, there is no need for a celebrity to actually to even allow people to comment. They don’t make money from the comments, they make money from advertising a product. Since Baldwin does not make her own products that she advertise, all she needs to make sure is that people can link to the products page and let them deal with it.

Our mental health is our responsibility, otherwise you end up like Michael Jackson, Prince, my ex-friends. You end up relying on others for YOUR happiness and for your safety.

If you drink coffee, how do you like it best?  Hot, cold, iced, with cream, with sugar or black as black?

I used to drink, but I find that it exasperate’s my anxiety, so I don’t drink it anymore. Sometimes I get cravings for it, only sometimes still.

If you don’t drink coffee, how has that beverage impacted YOUR world?

Saying that though tea has been impacting my world, big time lately. It means I can keep drinking and I love all the different flavours and each one does actually seem to make me feel something different. Some make me feel calmer, tired, awake, comfy. It’s brilliant!

In your opinion, what’s the greatest invention of our age?

I think the mobile phone is. Just because if you are in a jam it’s handy having a phone with the phone numbers already in it, that you can call. You try going without your phone all day. We have become so reliant on it, probably more to do with the social media aspect. But I really do believe that the mobile phone is the greatest invention of my age.

Global warming?  Reality or myth?

Total Reality.

Are you an explorer or more a home body?

More of a home body, but every know and then I like to explore. Where I live is perfect for it as well. It has a little park and a little cafe nearby, that looks over the park and the man made wetlands. Sometimes I’ll walk around and then finish off with a nice drink at the cafe. Not so much during Winter though, lol

and last:

What were you grateful for this week?

I am so grateful for the people in my life. I may not have “best friends” anymore but I have the best of friends ❤

Reasons why a good book is like a relationship?!

So this is more of a tongue-in-cheek of a random thought I had while talking to a few friends about books that have impacted us for life.

10 reasons why a good book can be like a relationship:

  • Books can rip at your heart and the impact stays with you for life.
  • A good book can inspire and make your life a better place for life.
  • You can fall in love with a character that then breaks your heart.
  • A good book can make you sit for hours and just dwell on the issues.
  • A good book will still make you feel something the next day.
  • Sometimes you do judge the book by it’s cover and then can be completely surprised by the “reality”.
  • Sometimes a character can just say what you’ve been needing to hear.
  • A good book always seems to come along when you’re not expecting it.
  • A new genre can be exciting and take you places you never dreamed of going, and opening doors you never thought of opening before.
  • Books can give you some good ‘satisfaction’ *insert winky face here*

Tricky Tuesday

So this morning is one of those mornings where everything is happening and this Tuesday is my last day after the busy period where I work. So I’m taking the rest of the week off. So here’s just a brief overview of what’s due to happen today:

  • Bidding ends at 6:30 in the morning on an item I really want to get (cannot remember the last time I had to wake up that early!)
  • New phone is scheduled to come today.
  • My favourite clothing site is having a collection come out today and I’ve been saving for this one for a while.

They are just a few things that are happening today, of course I’m at work all day today, even though I have the rest of the week off #firstworldproblems. It’s just always seems to be the way. Do you find that too readers?

Caitlyn Jenner

I WILL write another Blog about this issue. I wasn’t going to, but I feel I need to as so many people are saying “Who Cares?” These comments are pretty much being by people who are in a certain type of group. Who have never had to feared being persecuted and judged, and have had to live in fear of family member being bashed violently and are still being killed…Yes…KILLED for being gay or for being transgender. There are teenagers killing themselves over these issues…

So you had BETTER CARE!

I will unfollow ANYONE who thinks this issue is “nothing”.

This is not about a family who are known in the media for other reasons. This is an issue that people are still scared to come out about. People lose families, job, friends and sometimes their lives over these issues. You are naive if you think otherwise.

This is an issue close to my heart, only a few years ago my house was a “safe house” for friends of mine whose families were never going to accept that they were gay. The fact that even after 2010 we still have to have “safe houses” to begin with…So no it is not something to “get over”. Do not judge Caitlyn Jenner by her family.
