How do you celebrate National Book Lovers Day?
Originally these documents were made on parchment or vellum (calf skin, in case there’s some question) that was then bound tightly with a wooden cover. Often the wooden cover was tightly wrapped in leather to prevent the wood from getting wet and had clasps or straps to hold it shut. In Eastern cultures, carved wooden blocks were used with ink to print out texts on cloth, as early as 220 AD.
Today, we don’t have to read just on calf skin, we can now read on electronic devices.

Known as The Epic of Gilgamesh, this book is a mythical interpretation of a political figure, surviving as a collection of poems

I am probably just going too tuck myself into bed with my Kobo, and read my books on there. I think I am going to be tired to really celebrate it. I just haven’t slept well the last couple of nights. I might even fall asleep before I even get around to reading anything, lol
Reading Extravaganza
Just writing a little bit about my reading over the week I had to isolate. I LUCKILY, had at least two hard copy books too read, and then to “help myself”, get through the week, I borrowed a book on my Kobo, lol.
So day zero was Friday the 22nd of July, the day we were officially allowed out was Saturday the 30th of July. Now, I ended up giving myself till the end of Sunday to read as much as I could. Mainly because I then had to stay in on the Saturday anyway, because my partner woke up with a “tickle” in his throat. On Sunday, he decided it was part of the cold weather. But too be safe, we still didn’t go out.
Too quickly check out the week, you can just look at my profile on Goodreads here:
Basically, I had a LOT to read.
I managed to finish off two hard copy books, and got at least half way through my book borrowed on the Kobo. I’M FINALLY CATCHING UP!!!
For the love of God, READ! *Rant*
You know how I know? That people DON’T read people’s blogs?
The comments, lol
How many MORE times do I have to tell people “Don’t lie to my face, about what I’ve written or said”
Like, I will like a lot of blog posts. But sometimes I even READ people’s blogs. Like if I have actually written “Oh I agree with this mostly, but this part is just silly” One, I clearly can tell it’s outdated and two, you all tell me how many kids you know what a Quality…what ever is.
I don’t blog on here, for it to be like Twitter and Facebook, where people don’t READ and REACT instead.
Stop it, right now.
Do not start doing that. This is the ONE place, I trusted not for people to do that.
World Tolkien Reading Day
Tolkien Reading Day is held on the 25th of March each year. It has been organised by the Tolkien Society since 2003 to encourage fans to celebrate and promote the life and works of J.R.R. Tolkien by reading favourite passages.
TolkienSociety.org
According to reading length “The Silmarillion” only takes 7 hours and 22 minutes.
Tolkien was influenced by Germanic heroic legend, especially its Norse and Old English forms. During his education at King Edward’s School in Birmingham, he read and translated from the Old Norse in his free time. One of his first Norse purchases was the Völsunga saga.
March 25 was chosen as the date to celebrate annually because it marks the date of Sauron’s defeat, a key evil character in “Lord of the Rings.”
Tolkien Could Read by the Age of Four.
He was a philologist (scholar of languages) at Oxford and even worked on the Oxford English Dictionary.
Many people believed Sauron was based on Adolf Hitler. However, he was based on a character in one of JRR Tolkien’s favourite boyhood books. Tolkien loved SR Crockett’s historical novel, The Black Douglas. Its villain, Gilles de Retz, was based on the French knight (and associate of Joan of Arc), Gilles de Rais, a convicted child murderer. Crockett’s character was also a devil worshipper, allied with a shapeshifting witch and a pack of wolves — similar to wargs.
Tolkien and Lewis were friends for several decades when they both taught at the University of Oxford. They were critical of each other’s work: Tolkien disliked The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe because he found the *allegorical depiction of good and evil too *strident. After their first meeting, Lewis wrote in his diary of Tolkien: ‘No harm in him, only needs a smack or so.’
Tolkien was Catholic while Lewis was Protestant.
*As a literary device or artistic form, an allegory is a narrative or visual representation in which a character, place, or event can be interpreted to represent a hidden meaning with moral or political significance.
*loud and harsh; grating. presenting a point of view, especially a controversial one, in an excessively forceful way.
So it seems that Tolkien found Lewis works, either too obvious with the meaning and/or (at the time) Tolkien felt it was too obvious what Lewis was writing. Rather than having a more subtle meaning. Then again, it is Tolkien. The man who created an entire new language for an epic tale.
And STILL Tolkien was rejected for a Nobel Peace Prize for Literature!
World Tolkien Reading Day – Fun Times!
The 25th of March is Tolkien Read Day, and while later I will be more “serious”. Today, I just want to relax and lets have fun for the moment! So what can one do for fun on Tolkien Reading Day?!
Well, you don’t HAVE to read…I wont tell. So you can have a Tolkien movie marathon! I’ve wanted to do that for a long time. It’s not reading, but it is Tolkien related!

So I had a funny comment the other day, and it made me really laugh, with them saying at the end “You probably wont publish this, but I’m aiming it at you”
Why wouldn’t I publish proof of cult thinking Australia? Proving my points? Haha…Long Post incoming…I will also just say that I don’t write a lot about Australian politics, mainly because most of my readers, are from overseas. So, for myself, I don’t think my readers would have much interest. Also from 6pm last night, my state has gone into a week long lockdown.
So I’m going to write about a few points of why our current Prime Minister has the nicknames Scummo and Slomo.
1* Now, when the vaccines first came out. Scott Morrison said that we were right near the front of the queue to get the vaccines. Turns out, that wasn’t true. Not even close, not even half, lol. There has been such anger about it, because not even our first line responders are covered yet. And considering that our aged sector (which is a Federal Government responsibility) was hit really hard during COVID, you’d think there’d be more vaccinee rollouts … Nope …
Major Australian aged care provider reveals just 15% of staff vaccinated as sector demands changes to rollout – The Guardian, Christopher Knaus: Thu 8th July, 2021.
In fact, if you read that article, there is a little bit about the Private Schools getting the vaccines over aged care facilities. Mainly in NSW.
“On the first part, despite assertions last year by the prime minister Scott Morrison that we were “front of the queue”, we have lagged well behind other nations. Most European countries began vaccinations just after Christmas, and the UK and US got going a bit earlier. Australia’s rollout only began on 22 February. “
The Morrison government has fallen short in all areas of the Covid vaccine rollout
And in fact, a previous Prime Minister of Australia, has done more to help with vacciness.
2. Now you might recognize the name Kevin Rudd…He’s our former PM, who ended up creating the biggest online signed petition in Australia’s History. The petition? Seeking a royal commission into Murdoch media. Which gained over 500,000 signatures.
3. One of the biggest reasons that Scott Morrison is called “SloMo” has not only got to do with the VERY slow rollout of the vaccines, which probably would have helped NSW, and in turn, the rest of Australia. Our Prime Minister has a tendency to “run away” when major things happen. When, as his first term as PM, we had a major bush fire, he took off to Hawaii. When Australian’s weren’t allowed to travel, he was travelling to interstate and international sports events.
4. One of the things that I found funny about this comment, was when I was told Scott Morrisons religions was his own personal business. Which is correct, except that Scummo KEEPS making HIS Religion part of his “leadership”.
Thank God we’re turning to science to fight COVID-19 – Crispin Hull
Scott Morrison confirms he sought White House invite for Hillsong pastor Brian Houston
If you were going to extend a invitation to the White House, why not one of our many esteemed Aboriginal Leaders?
Oh yeah, our Prime Minister is part of Hillsong, you know that Church, where it’s Founder is in jail right now over sex exploitations.
Morrison’s Hillsong mate given $42m in grants
“On Friday, March 13, the Prime Minister announced a ban on gatherings of 500 people, however the ban would not actually start until Monday. No reason was explicitly given for the delay between the announcement and the commencement of the ban, but Hillsong’s Colour Conference in Sydney’s North East was attended by over 3000 people on Saturday, March14th. As the crisis has continued to escalate the government has been forced to take stricter measures in regards to lockdowns. The NSW Police have been granted extra powers to enforce a mandatory lockdown where people can no longer leave the house for non-essential reasons. These restrictions are set to be lifted on July 1, which is conveniently one week before Hillsong’s next scheduled mega conference to be held at Qudos Bank Arena over 4 days. [Personal note: The conference is ironically titled ‘Breathe Again’ whilst we’re in the middle of an epidemic that attacks the respiratory system.]” Hillsong Gets Away Scott Free – Elle Black: Medium
5. Oh yeah, there was this too
Scott Morrison gets $11,000 pay rise on the day workers lose penalty rates
But there’s even better news for the Prime Minister if his tax cut package gets the Senate’s approval.
Mr Morrison stands to double his money and secure an $11,000-a-year tax cut in 2024 if he’s still in the top job.
The independent remuneration tribunal announced a 2 per cent increase to all MPs’ pay on Thursday.
The Prime Minister has secured three pay rises in just a year, taking his annual salary to $549,229 annually.
Note* Over the past decade, there usually has been 60 to 70 sitting days in non-election years, dropping to around 50 sitting days in election years. However, 2019 will earn the dubious distinction of having the lowest number of sitting days in that period, with 35 of its 45 sitting days occurring after the May election. Again … The Prime Minister has secured three pay rises in just a year, taking his annual salary to $549,229 annually.
6...I am just going to write a list here of things that you can all look up, if you so choose:

7. I can’t even begin to explain to you all how badly the Prime Minister and Federal Government have attacked the Victorian People. Compared to NSW. Now NSW pretty much got the whole ball rolling with COVID in Australia, re the Ruby Princess. Including Federal Minister Spud Head Peter Dutton. Our current PM kept calling NSW the “Gold Star Standard” for COVID … Due to the slow response from the NSW state leader … and now this ….
Crisis meeting over tougher COVID-19 restrictions in NSW
Victoria Covid update: removalists from NSW banned after six more cases
NSW braces for a surge in coronavirus cases as outbreak infiltrates Sydney’s healthcare system
I can’t begin to stress, Australia did well (not so much NSW) because of our state leaders and the Australian people. Not because of our Prime Minister, or our Federal Government. They made the Australian people’s (especially Victorians) mental health worse, NOT better. We survived this (not so much NSW), because of US. Like, the Australian people have to survive this current Prime Ministers “term”. We did it, because of AUSTRALIANS. … Somehow, lol
Not once, has the Federal Government ever apologised for it’s failures resulting in deaths (COVID Aged Care deaths and Robodebt Suicides). They’ve never actually apologised for anything, when it comes down to it. Are they trying to tell us that they are perfect and never do anything wrong?
So, dear A Wondering Minstrel I am not only going to reply to you (which I did) but I am also going to publish your comment, on here as well. So everyone can see it…Happy =D What exactly are you doing?

As for Dan Andrews “lying”, he didn’t lie. He didn’t know. That’s not the same thing.
On Monday Mr Eccles was asked if he had passed it on to Mr Andrews. “I’m not saying that I didn’t. I’m saying that I’m not aware that I did or I didn’t,” he said.
At LEAST Dan Andrews can acknowledge problems, but also APOLIGISE‘S for them. You need to be able to prove that he knew, it’s no good saying he was given message’s THROUGH other people. As that means he was lying. Did Andrews reply to anyone?
Daniel Andrews issues ‘unreserved apology’ for hotel quarantine failures
Do you even care about what actually started COVID in Australia? Don’t you *think* that should be looked into as well? It’s “funny” how you’re all “Dan Andrews lied once”, but just ignore the Federals Government not only lack of responsibility for ANYTHING, but not apoligise and no inquiries either, the lying. Is that because Morrison will just run away again?
When you honestly look at that list, do you actually think Andrews “lying” is really the worst that anyone in our current Government is doing? Too even get into as well:
Robodebt
Ruby Princess.
Sports Rort
Christian Porter
Brittany Higgins
As well as the disrespect that Morrison has to shown to WOMEN in Parliament. Honestly, I could keep writing all week with what Morrison does.
Like, really…I can tell that you don’t know what you’re doing. I have no idea what you even mean by “racism” I suspect that’s just a buzzword you like to throw out, lol
In short, if you don’t want to be embarrassed with your own stupidity. Don’t challenge me to not post your comments, Murdoch Sheeps…I totally will, and I will embarrassed you with the facts.
The greatest gift
I have ever gotten is my Kobo, given to me by my partner. I honestly didn’t even know that Kobo even existed! What I love about it, is that unlike Kindle I can actually borrow from my Library still (considering licenses for ebooks) and it is so light! It’s brilliant!
While obviously this isn’t the greatest gift of all time, when you consider parenthood, owing a pet, having the dream career, winning the lotto, hugging a huge tree that’s not been cut down…
What do you think the is the greatest gift, you’ve ever received?
Read, people!
*This happened a few days ago, I just thought other things were more important to blog about*
So, I got attacked again…by someone I thought I was the on the same page…again.
Seems to mainly happen on Twitter
A few months ago, I was attacked by the Twitter account “Oh She Twint”…I swear, it was simply because she was attacking my friend who was saying to her, to take to the streets. Vote, but also get out and do something, don’t take, just to twitter. She called my friend and I, retarded and blocked us.
If she had taken an actual breathe, and actually READ what we were writing…Maybe she wouldn’t be so emotional.
It just happened again. Now I follow Stormy Daniels on Twitter, mainly on Twitter because I absolutely adore her come backs to Trump supporters. This time I also quipped back at a Trump supporters “Trump hired Stormy Daniels, what does that say about him?”. Then I got a whole barrage of “Lay off her, she’s not a prostitute, she’s a porn star”. So I said to the comment about not being hired, I said “why would you sleep with a married man, who just had a baby FOR FREE!” Then I got even more attacked, because apparently in Stormy’s book. She writes about how she felt cornered by Trump to have sex with him.
Now, if Stormy or any of her supporters had actually read what I wrote. I clearly had NO idea that that’d had happen! As I mentioned above I only follow her because of her quips on Twitter. I don’t think the people who were mad that they thought I was calling her a prostitute, which I was not, knew either. I did apologise for not knowing (???) I also pointed out that, no one, including herself brought this up, until about 10 attacks in. That if they READ my comments at all, I clearly did not know and neither do the people who replied to me. That they were attacking someone on their side too, lol. Neither did the people who liked my comments.
So, on Twitter…I know about 5 people, maybe not even that, personally on Twitter. So basically 98% of the people I follow on Twitter…I DON’T KNOW…I haven’t read Stormy’s books, or watched any of her interviews, because I never felt the need too. She doesn’t like Trump, she’s got good come backs…I know about the mushroom reference…That’s it.
So to all the celebrities and twitter “celebrities” WE DON’T ACTUALLY KNOW YOU! If I had known, I would never have said that in a million years! Just like, if I had known that “Oh no she twin’t” would call myself and my friend, retarded, for saying vote AND get out there…I would never have followed her to begin with!lol
I think it was just weird as well, because I clearly was having a go at the Trump supporter and somehow I was more attacked than them? What has also been interesting, despite being told this by Stormy herself, and now I know. It’s clear that a lot of people don’t know. Every-time I see a picture of collection of women, who have accused Trump of assault or rape. Stormy is never in those pictures. Because I am more aware, I always look and she’s never in the group. There are heaps of other porn stars, but not her.
Did you?
