My Nominated Questions

What is your worst ever fashion disaster?

Oh my family know VERY well my worst ever fashion disaster, but it’s kind of annoying because I was helping build a dingy, I wasn’t really thinking “what pants go best with sanding?”. My situation went something like this with my brother and cousin paying me out.

The “leggings” that I was wearing at the time, were pretty baggy and they had all boat glue over them. I wasn’t there for a runway, I was there to help my Grandpa! For some reason, to this day, I know how horrible those pants were, but to this day. People wont let me forget it, but I don’t get why it was such a big deal?

What was your big dream as a child?

I wanted to do everything! I wanted to be a Fairy queen, I wanted to be a Ballerina, I wanted to be a hairdresser. What dream didn’t I have?

What was the worst thing you did at school?

I hate to admit this, I nearly killed or seriously injured a teacher, total accident! We were doing Archery, and the teacher was out looking in the field looking for the arrows we had already shot. I was not concentrating at all, I can’t even remember what we were talking about, but I just loaded up my bow and shot! Luckily it hit the board, and luckily the teacher was looking for the spare arrows, way out on the oval. But oh my goodness! I still live with the guilt.

Would you rather meet a ghost or an alien or Donald Trump?

The only reason I do not want to “meet” Trump is because then I would be in jail, for murder. I kid you not. I am over it and I’m not even American! I keep asking myself how do people like Dr Martin Luther King Jr, The Kennedy’s, John Lennon…Why do these good people end up being killed so young? Yet, we gotta put up with Trump.

I’d rather meet a ghost to be honest. Too think to be able to meet a spirit kind of fascinates me. I feel like meeting an alien might disappoint me, where as the thought of meeting a ghost makes me feel interested. If I could talk about them, what death is like, why are they still hanging around, what do they think of the world today…Even better!

Would you rather have lots of friends or one great friend?

Without a doubt one great friend. I have a learnt from the past, a good friend can make a lot of difference in your life.

If you could be one cartoon character who would it be?

Is Belle from Beauty and the Beast considered a cartoon? Harley Quinn and Rogue from X-Men seem really messed up honestly…Too much like myself, lol

Disney Beauty GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

What’s the funniest thing you have ever done?

I think just existing is funny to others. Not in a nasty way though honestly. I crack up one of my coworkers all the time, she thinks I am real posh because I say I am going to the “bathroom” instead of the toilet, lol. Like a proper young lady.

I am fine, thanks for asking

I am just going to warn you, this post is going to sound really ungrateful and with my current annoyed mood, probably a little selfish too. Also it’s a really big rant.

By the title, even though I cannot enter sarcasm here, I would be saying that title with all the sarcasm in the world. I am generally fed up with being ill all the time and being stressed out ALL the time lately. What do I get for it…Nothing, not even one person (irl) asking ME if I’m alright. My dog gets sick, everyone else wanted to put her down and blamed me for needing more time. The entire time my mum complained, repeatedly, how she had to miss her hair appointment. The whole time I kept getting text messages from people “Hows your Mum doing, we haven’t heard back from her” Well considering the biggest complaint she was having at the time was she missed hair appointment, I’d say she’s alright…Myself however, I was having guilt trips, was I really doing the best thing for my dog…Apparently, yes I did. Because she’s well, although she’ll have to be on tablets the rest of her life. Thanks for totally not asking how I’m doing though. How freaking rude is that?

What do I get for saving my dog, a bacterial gut infection.

Now my younger brother is having mini anxiety attacks apparently and everyone is telling me to “Step Up” and help him…Uh…Excuse me? Where was his stepping up when I was in hospital because of my anxiety? Huh! Huh! I say apparently because my brother, like our father is kind of a hypochondriac who never finishes off his medication. I do believe he’s got it though, I am so open with my anxiety, it has made me worry if it’d rub off on other people. Not that anxiety is “catchy”, just I know with hypochondriacs they can tend too “catch” what someone else has got.

Then there’s the friends who keep sending you links to like their pages, to “support” them. Some of them I have actually used. Where was my messages of support from these “friends” when we thought our dog was dying??? Huh! Not a single one…So anyone whose pages I’ve liked, who didn’t even send me a quick, hope you’re doing alright, or hows your dog doing. I have unliked their pages. I think that’s fair. Stop asking people to send money to you and like pages when you can’t even be bothered to send a extremely simple “How are you doing”? My dog has actually BEEN THERE for me, my dog is my unofficial therapy dog. She has been there a lot more than other humans beings.

Do I sound ungrateful? At the moment I really don’t care, lol…I have a bacterial gut infection, after coming off of anxiety medication and I think there’s a cold coming too -.-

Thank you as well to Okoto for creating this Award.

Three Things about Myself:

  • I have a shoe box full of things that when I’m down, I’ll play with. It wasn’t until recently that I realised that the shoe box is called “Therapy”lol.
  • There are two movies since I can remember that I watch at least once a year “The Red Shoes” and “The Beatrix Potter Ballet” film.
  • I want to foster animals…If I ever win the lottery I will open up my own animal foster care centre.

My Best Posts:

Happy Birthday Baby brother!

I can’t keep Calm! =D

Molly’s questions:

  • Do you have any favourite festive reads? if so, what are they?

I don’t really have any festive reads that I read around this time of year, but there are a lot of Christmas specials on the television that I like to watch. I don’t think that they even had them played last year.

  • Who is your all time favourite book character?

Oh wow, I don’t think that I even have one character that I can think of. There are just way to many for me to pick one. I guess the first person I thought of was Arwen from LotR, both books and films. She is everything I aspire to be.

  • Are you planning on posting Christmassy content in December?

Possibly…I’m not sure yet. I want to post happy and motivating posts in the last couple of weeks. I enjoy New Years, but I feel like renewing is more around the time of your birthday than actual New Years (except of course if New Years IS your birthday).

  • What is the one book you would recommend to anyone?

I’ve only read this year, but I would highly recommend “Circe” by Madeline Miller. It is fantastic! Even though I’ve already read it, I have actually asked for it, for Christmas as well.

  • Do you have any Christmas traditions?

Only really have a couple. We usually put our Christmas tree up on the 1st of December, but take it down 12 days after Christmas. The other one we have is, the adults on our Mums side do a secret Santa, we wrap the presents in newspaper. Helps keep it more secret, but my Grandfather actually started it when he though it was a waste of money to wrap it paper that you just chuck out.

Share Your World

QUESTIONS FOR THIS WEEK:

Name two books that have influenced you and share how.  (Credit for this question goes to Teresa of The Haunted Wordsmith.   She asked for TEN books, in her challenge, so the SYW folks got off a bit easy..)

The first one that kept popping into my head “Playing Beatie Bow“. It’s a very famous Australian book, so I wouldn’t be surprised if most of my readers have not heard about it. It inspired me to use my imagination more. At the same time I was reading the book, I was going through a similar situation, so to be able to escape to another time. There was just a great escape to it.

The other book is, pretty much, all of the Tolkien books. For extremely similar reasons. Funny how neither of the books that have influenced me are about now,lol

In your opinion, where is the line between art and not art?

Beyonce – Art … Kim Kardashian – Not art…Hahahahaha

Trivia for Halloween:   What item is banned only during Halloween from 12am October 31st to 12pm November 1st in Hollywood California?   (I know the answer, but I do not have any idea WHY)..c’mon…hazard a guess!

Oh wow, as an Australian, I literally cannot think of anything. Trying to think of what might be a possibility. Since you said “Hazard”….The only thing I can think of is a fire extinguisher, but why would they ban that? I’m sure that would be illegal. Is it the sale of toilet paper?

What is something that really annoys you but doesn’t bother most people?

I am not actually sure. A year or so ago I might have had an answer for this, but in the last year. I have been more and more surrounded by people who think similarly to myself. I honestly just can’t think of anything.

Instead of our usual gratitude question, I’m posing this one for this week:

What or who in your life brings you the most joy?

This is so funny because I have decided to make a list for New Years of not goals, but why I am grateful to be alive. Do I post what I’ve already got?

An “OPEN” Share Your World

SO I got this from Sparks from A Combustible Mind…Who in turn got it from An Upturned Soul. Its not a “Share Your World”, which I normally post on the Thursdays. It’s more about looking at me from a more philosophical view. They’re in-depth type questions, more getting to know you/me. Feel free to share and do these questions yourself!

The Questions:

Q: What would you say was a normal status for you?

I’ve seen a few people say they don’t get this question. I think I do? Normally I am pretty laid back and happy go lucky. At the moment though, it always seems a little more “Is Trump gone yet?” “Has the America come back, that we all knew and love” “Is Obama President again”?

I try to wake up and being an open compassionate each morning to each person that I deal with each day. Doesn’t always turn out that way by the end of the day though, lol. That’s probably the normal status for myself, apart from the anxiety pills I’m on making me tired. This is the normal for me…At this moment.

Normal hasn’t felt normal for a while and I want to change that.

Q: Is there anything you’ve allowed yourself to do more of which has shifted your experience of yourself?

I’ve started allowing myself to fight back. I don’t mean getting into people’s faces, but I’m just more open with people. Instead of waiting for something to blow up, I’m much more “Look, this is how that made me feel” “This is why I’m reacting this way”. It does help though having people in my life now that are actually willingly to listen, rather than make everything about themselves. Allowing myself to be more open, has made me more expressive and it’s been great! Despite what I used to think about myself, I have a lot of common sense. I used to think I was really gullible and naive, I’m not.

Q: Has aging actually been a bonus rather than a minus for you?

It’s been a bit of both to be honest. My body falls apart a lot of more easily than it used too, but I’m much more sensible and much more saying my piece. If somethings wrong with me, I deal with it, rather than waiting and thinking it’ll work it’s self out.  I just wish that I had more of this self assurance years ago.

Q: What does a powercut mean for you, metaphorically or otherwise?

A power cut for is an emotional/mental one. Usually that means I am hiding in my bed, in my bedroom and I’m just letting all the tears come out. Usually you might find me hugging a plushie. This usually happens to me once a year. Just over time, you keep giving and giving and caring and it may be a little thing. There’ll always be a moment or a situation where I just know that I need to stop and cry. It might only be for an hour or so, or last all day.

Q: Have you ever thought/felt that you were broken (or had finally fractured after an extended period of too much stress) and that this was actually a good thing?

A couple of years ago I had developed Sciatica. If you have ever suffered from that, you will know how painful it can be. I knew something was wrong and I went to a physio and it felt alright after the massage they gave me. Woke up that night/early morning, it was AGONY! I was crying, we nearly called for an ambulance.

It ended up being a good thing because things like this, people really show who they are during your darkest times…or most painful. It was the first big deal my partner and I went through as well together. I couldn’t really walk without strong pain killers. It made me realise how much I walk, I put on weight, my health went down. I was literally using my Great Grandmothers walking cane to get around (Thanks Great Nana <3. She had lost half of one of her legs due to polio).

Which sounds terrible, but it made me stronger on the inside. I had to get tough with people because my Doctors didn’t believe I had sciatica. They wouldn’t let me go and get a scan, I made them and proved that I was right. I told the physio I shouldn’t get massaged in the area of pain until I knew what it was. Since they had all failed me, I had to get my voice. I was not going through that pain again!

Q: What’s your favorite subject (or subjective perspective) and why?

I honestly love learning about anything really. I mean I have to be in the mood with some things though. Maths and Science I either have to have it explained to me slowly, or I just don’t get it at all.

Q: What have you recently watched and do you know why you watched it? Did you learn anything from it?

I have been watching “Different Strokes” on the weekend. Sports were literally on every other single channels. I have always known this, but I feel like we should replay this series right now. It’s all completely still relevant, which in itself is kind of sad. Meaning that not much has changed since then. BLM, adoptive families, peer pressure and all that social stuff. It’s a great little series, I highly recommend everyone watches it.

Q: What do you think I mean by a ‘social must’?

I think a social must is something that you MUST do when you are out and surrounded by other people. Whether that be with people you know or don’t. I saw this guy picking his nose walking through a shopping centre…No, just no! Not picking your nose is a definite social must.

Q: Have you ever forced yourself to read a must-read book? Which one and why?

I did actually start to read “50 Shades of Grey”…and I never finished it. I only even began to read it, because for some reason, my Mum bought it. She bought all of them, some kind of deal. Neither of us have finished it…Well that’s what she tells me!

Writing my Heart out  – Sunshine Blogger Award

Thank you to Writing my Heart out for the nomination (sorry it took so long!) You should really all go and have a read, because they are truly writing from their heart!

The Rules For Sunshine Blogger Award

  • Thank to the person that nominated you.
  • Link the post back to them.
  • Display the picture on your post.
  • Answer their questions.
  • Nominate 10 bloggers.
  • Provide 11 questions for your nominees.

My Questions

  1. Why do you write blogs?

When I first started, I wasn’t exactly sure why I was keeping up with it. Even now, I’m not sure. I have a very random Blog. I don’t seem to have a “type”. Whatever I’m writing though seems to be keeping people interested and they keep reading. I guess I’m writing as well to show people that you don’t to have a “set theme” either. Just writing to reach out and reach out to others, keeps me coming back. I have found the nicest people writing my Blog.

2. What are Top 5 lessons you’ve learned in your life?

  • If ANY relationship is not working well (toxic) for you anymore, no matter how long you’ve known the person. Speak with them first and if nothing changes, move on. It’s alright.
  • If you, also for any reasons, can’t work in your dream career. Make sure that the job you are in, you at least like the people you work with.
  • I believe dark times will reveal who you are, but also, those people around you too.
  • Furbabies ARE family, they can be so much better than humans. Animals in general, don’t underestimate them!
  • There will always be that one paragraph on your Word document that just will not format properly, like the rest!

3. Are you an Introvert or an Extrovert?

Oh definitely an Introvert, especially when I’m around people I don’t know or know that well. I explain myself like this: When I’m getting to know you or first meet you, I am a Fluttershy. When I know you well, I am Pinkie Pie. Yes, that is a My Little Pony reference.

4. Who’s your favourite Music band?

I don’t really have a favourite band, I just like what I like. I like everything from Enya, to Metallica, to Eminem (sometimes).

 5. What’s best book you’ve read & like to recommend others?

Oh gosh! This is a huge list to choose from! I might just choose from one that I’ve read from this year. I am still in love with “Circe” written by Madeline Miller. I love it so much I am going to ask for it for Christmas and if I don’t get I’ll buy it anyway.

6. What’s best life advice you ever got from someone?

It’s not really advice, it’s more of a “knowing”…Knowing that I’ve got help around me, I just need to reach out and ask.

 7. Name your favourite festival.

I haven’t gone to a musical festival in a couple of years, my favourite WAS Soundwave and I got to see Metallica…AMAZING!!! They actually had Linkin Park first and there were amazing too. However, I am a big Nerd. So I love all the “Cons”. I just wish I lived in America, so I could go to the San Diego one! It’s on the bucket list.

   8. Describe moment when you were proud of yourself.

Even though we ended up not being friends anymore. I am proud of myself that I stood up and told my “best friend” of half my life. That her boyfriend is abusive and a bully and she can do better. I think this was the third or fourth time they had broken up and when I heard he had pushed her while they were drunk, that was it. The ONLY thing I regret I have, was not to saying to her when she would say to me “I know you don’t like him” was “What is there too like?”.

9. Which is that one movie which has inspired you the most?

I’m not sure about inspired, but I guess I also do…lol…All of the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbits…It inspires me and with one simple quote…

SamWise

   10.  Are you a health conscious or a food freak?

Only when I have to be, if that makes any sense? This last and past year with everything that happened to myself and others in my life (My Dad had a triple bypass, a friend who is a year younger than I, had a heart attack etc) You do start to become more aware.

   11. If you have read my blogs , what’s your favourite blog written by me ?

I do read your Blogs! My favourite had to be Music: My escape This is mainly because I can relate to it so much.

My Questions to my Nominees

  1. If money was no object, what would you be doing on the first day? (Or I guess right now) Would you be working in your dream career?
  2. If it wasn’t completely morally (and sometimes illegally) wrong to keep a wild animal, which one would you want to keep?
  3. What would be your favourite Mythical pet to have?
  4. What is the hardest and the best life lessons you’ve learnt?
  5. As my therapist asked me my first session, are you a worrier or a warrior?
  6. What is your meaning of life?
  7. What is the one thing you would love to be able to “do” to make the world a better place?
  8. How do you, or would like to, spread kindness?
  9. What advice would you like to give to beginner bloggers (or just blogging advice in general)
  10. What is one thing people might find surprising to learn about you?

Share Your World, Sept Week 2, 2018

Share Your World

Share Your World 10-09-18

This Week’s Questions:

Are You A Better Listener or Speaker?

I am definitely a better listener, people come to me a lot with needing someone to listen to them. Speaking, my brain tends to go faster than my mouth, so it’s makes no sense. One of the reasons I love to Blog, I can write what I am thinking. Then can rewrite or edit if it’s all jumbled up.  Sometimes I can think faster than I write as well!

If You Were Asked To Design A Warning Label That Would Be Tattooed On Your Skin, What Would It Say?

(Credit for this question goes to a blogger I’ve just started following.  You can read more about her by clicking here. )

I’m stealing a quote here “And though she may be but little, she is fierce”

What Are You Passionate About?

I think I am passionate about anything that is creative. Anyway to look at something in a new way. I love coming up with new new ideas that I can use creatively.

If You Could Change One Thing About Your World, What Would It Be?

I wish that I wasn’t such a bad procrastinator! I am probably one of the worst, you’ll ever meet! I’ve got all these projects started and then…that’s it. I wish I could change that about myself.

And Finally:

What Gave You A Reason To Smile This Past Week?

I started a diary, one that you actually write in, not like a Blog. A personal diary.

SYW – Revisited

This is the first ‘official” Share Your World from “Sparks”.    Cee is thoughtfully going to watch over the first couple of these to make sure the transition is smooth.

Rules

‘I will post four different questions each week for you to answer.  There are two ways which you can participate.

  1. Create a SYW  post.  Then post the link to your blog in my comment box or leave your answers in the comments box of my blog.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Share Your World”  and link it to this post.
  3. Remember to Follow My Blog to get your weekly reminders.

I usually will respond to your entry on your blog, rather than on my page.”

Our Questions Today:

When you are old, what do you think children will ask you to tell stories about?   If you are ‘old’ (a term with different meanings for everyone); what stories do you tell your grandchildren?

Oh wow, good question! I can’t honestly say that I’m even sure what they’d want to know or what would be appropriate. One thing I have thought about that I would want to tell my daughters before it happens. When they get their little monthly friend, to come to me straight away. When I got mine, I went into denial and then was horribly upset because I thought something was wrong with me. I was so frightened! I’m not sure though that’s the kind of stories they’d want to hear, lol

When did something start out badly for you but in the end, it was great?

I think it was my current job, when I initially was told about it. We were told that it was to work in the Library, not the admin part of the TAFE. So when we came in on the first day of work, I was very shocked…and then panicked that I wouldn’t be able to do the job at all. Yet now, I really enjoy my work. I love my co-workers, they are beautiful human beings.

What do you think you are much better at than you actually are?   Maybe this one’s kinda mean…thoughts?

I don’t think it’s a mean question, but I am perfectly perfect in every way =P. Being witty is one of my downfalls though. I try, but I know I am terrible at it. My brother is SO good at it!

What would be the worst thing to hear as you are going under anesthesia before surgery?

Anything in Dr. Nick Riviera voice really, lol

and we’ll keep the affirmations and upbeat question just as Cee had it:

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

I did SO much unintentional walking this week. Although my feet were killing me in the end, my leg didn’t flare up with sciatica =D Which is fantastic!

Friday Funday

The Rules …

1] Thank the nominator

Thank you so much! Life Lessons around the dinner table! I had so much fun doing this, it got dark there…But oh so much fun!

2] Answer Q1 – Q19

3] Nominate three bloggers of your choice and notify them.

4] Each selected blogger MUST answer 16 of the asked 19 questions, but also insert 3 new questions to make up the 19 compliment. Every time a new blogger is selected they MUST only answer 16 of the asked 19 questions as well as answer their own 3, and choose 3 new bloggers. Each time a new blogger sees the questionnaire it will be completely different to the next blogger along.

[Hint: delete three of the questions you don’t like or have no answer for and insert your own in its place]

5] Q20 & Q14  Must always remain intact.

The Questions:

1] Have you ever seen a show where there was no “ending”to the case, does that frustrate you?

Oh yes! I watch the Crime channel and there is nothing worse than getting invested in a show or someones murder. Then the show doesn’t end with anything happening…That’s the worst!

2] Do you believe in the “Slender Man”

No. I hate what’s happened to those people whose “friends” pretended about the Slender man though.

3] Have you ever had your tarot read?

I have…But I also can do them! But I’ve lost my Tarot Cards and I’m still looking for them.

4] What unsolved murder unsettled you the most?

Without a doubt, it has to be the “The Staircase Murder/s” It’s an interesting case, mainly because it’s so confusing! They made a whole documentary on it, I’ve watched it from start to finish. It’s such a mystery, even though Michael Peterson was arrested for the crime. The whole thing is “off”. I don’t really know how to describe it, because I don’t know how he was convicted. Yet, there’s something there. I want to know what happened!

5] Would you sleep inside a coffin underground for a night?

Oh Hell No!

6] What is your best detective series?

Homicide Hunter…Don’t know if that’s a “series”, but it’s about the real crimes investigated by Lt Kenda. It’s a great series! He’s one of the most successful Detectives of all time.

7] Is there a horror movie you simply could NEVER watch because of the advertising hype?

No,I don’t actually enjoy horror films at all, in fact. Usually though I also really hate hype. I tried to watch one of the “Saws”, I hid behind my hands. Then I went to the cinema with a few people, including my boyfriend to see “Hostel 2”. I nearly walked out when they killed the kid, I just didn’t watch the rest of it.

8] What is the worst nightmare you have ever experienced? – Describe.

I don’t think it’s the worst nightmare that I have ever experienced, but it’s the only one I keep remembering for some reason. I had it only the once and it has never repeated, it’s weird what we remember. It was all black and white, like an old films and it was just a huge snail eating me, alive. It’s one of the weirdest nightmares I’ve ever had and I’m sure it means something.

9] Do you believe dreams/nightmares represent something else?

I believe that they do most of the time. Sometimes it might just be of something that you watched just as you were falling asleep. I do believe they do, even my above nightmare, at the time, did actually represent something I was going through. It was funny because I was stressed out at the time and thought that the situation was taking a long time to resolve.

10] Would you agree to take part in a seance?

I would love too! I know that they have a bad wrap, but I would absolutely love to take part in one one day.

11] Of all the ways a person could commit murder which do you think is the worst? Why?

There are so many horrible ways to die. I think anything that is slow and painful is horrible. Being buried alive, bleeding out slowly.

12] If you were a detective investigating a murder what would your first steps be at the scene of a brutal death?

After watching Homicide Hunter, I would also scan the room without touching anything. See if there are clues to where the body was found, does it look like a struggle took place, was the house broken into or was the murderer let in? Speak with the first responding officers and double check to see if they have changed or who they have spoken with.

13] Hanging, Injection, guillotine or firing squad what would you prefer?

Guillotine. It’s the quickest.

14] Which 3 questions will you be deleting to add your own in?

1, 2 & 9.

15] Is there justice in the death penalty, or is it pointless?

Oh, this is a tricky question to answer. Sometimes, I think that yes, it can be justified. In fact, I know that some people facing the death penalty have asked for it. They know within themselves that they wont be rehabilitated. Yet, at the same time, they have people who have received the death penalty and they were found later to be innocent.

16] Do you look guilty?

No. I always look sweet and innocent! 🙂

17] If the purge was real, would you hide yourself in a bunker, or would you participate?

Honestly, it’d depend on how I am at the time.

18] Do you think victims of rape or abuse should have the right to murder their attacker?

This is another tough question! I don’t honestly think it would make them feel any better and what about the chance people have to learn and redeem themselves? They should always have a say in their sentences though.

19] What is the best way to test for a psychopath?

I’m not sure…Although I am sure that I have met a few!lol
