Share Your World – 2016 Week 4

What one thing are you really glad you did yesterday?

I am so grateful that I got through a hurried day of work yesterday, with my leg hurting and I made it through the day without completely falling apart.

Are you generally focused on today or tomorrow?

This is a good question, it honestly depends. If I have something stressful on ‘tomorrow’ and nothing stressful ‘today’ then I would probably focus on tomorrow. I think that I’m always thinking a little about tomorrow things like “What have I got on tomorrow” “What do I need to organise today for tomorrow” … Things like that.

Would you want to have as a guardian angel/mentor? What would they tell you right now?

I think that I already do, my Great Grandparents, they passed years ago. Sometimes I do think “Would doing this make them proud of me?”. I’m not sure what they would tell me honestly, there are a few frustrations in my life, but nothing that anyone can do anything about (getting me a job).

Would you rather live in a cave house or a dome house made out of glass? (photos of the houses found on google search)

The Cave Houses look absolutely amazing! I would rather live in one of those. They look so magical and ethereal.

What would be your ideal birthday present, and why?

I think it would honestly be that makes everyone that I care about have some fun and just have a good time. What that actually is, I’m not sure.

What color would you like your bedroom to be?

I have actually really been thinking about this sort of thing lately, if I had my dream house type thing. I am really into Celtic and fantasy type things at the moment. I’ve started doing some personal fantasy writing and the music I listen to, to inspire me is Celtic and Celtic type music. It would be fantastic if I could have some sort of office (maybe a Bedroom) where it was inspired by the Celtic theme. A lot of Celtic themes come from Ireland and Irish history, so I guess I would need it to be some kind of nice green colour.

Would you prefer snowy winters, or not, and why?

I have never actually seen real snow before! I would love to see it, but I really hate the cold, so I’m not sure how long I would actually even last, lol.

Would you rather go a week without bathing, but be able to change your clothes, or a week without a change of clothes, but be able to bathe?

Hmm, during Summer being able to do neither of those two options would be preferable (it’s Summer here). If I really had to choose though, I would have to go with a week without bathing, but able to change clothes. It’s funny really because of my damaged leg thats what I’ve had to do over the last month or so. It was hurting my leg to much to move about so I had to limit what I could do. My poor boyfriend with my hairy legs though!lol

The month before the storm

So it’s one month until December…It may not exactly be a “storm” but December, Christmas month and last month of the year can get a little crazy!

November

So for the next month at least, I will be posting links to literary type pages that I think have good gifts for people that you might want to consider getting for your literary friends.

I am sure by now you have seen or you are going to see a lot of these today:

3 month, Christmas

What a scary thought, huh!

The last few years, I’ve had the same plan and it’s worked for me every single year. I start putting away $20-$50 every fortnight at least, during June. Then when August begins I start buying just little bits and pieces. So here I’ll just post a few links of some great Christmas presents ideas. Some of they are pretty expensive, but they are a little different to the “norm”. Sometimes thinking outside-the-box, can help you get some more ideas!

(You may find that a few of these are kind of “geeky” nerdy ideas =P)

BACK TO SCHOOL FASHION: Now this may be “back to school” but they are still gorgeous accessories and clothing. Take a look at the shoes!

Fashionably Geek: 12 Amazing Fairy Tale And Fantasy Fashions These are amazingly beautiful and will at least give people who are good at sewing a few ideas!

A long weekend…

So it’s a long weekend here in the Down Under country and I have got a few things happenings this week, seeing people that I haven’t seen in quite a while. (Which had nothing to do with my previous relationship, I just haven’t seen these people all year).

However yesterday was the last time I have ever expected to “talk” (I use that term very loosely, very hard to have a conversation with someone who wont talk back) or see my ex ever again. There was one question that I needed an answer too and he did give it. I think though he’s answer didn’t really explain why he had started to treat me so badly AFTER we broke up. I have never before had to beg anyone to talk too me and I have never had to stop being friends with an ex so soon after we broke up. I have honestly been appalled and disgusted by my ex’s actions, but when people ask me why do I think he’s done it…All I can say is…I honestly don’t know.

What I can say though with 100% certainty is that it is on him and it is absolutely not a reflection on me or the type of person I am. I feel so happy about this. For 30 years I have struggled to feel good about myself and I can finally be at a place where I can say “Nope, it’s definitely you”lol…I am not a bad person and do not deserve to be treated as such, I might like you, but I like myself best =D

Babylon 5

(And now for something completely different)

babylon5casttvguide

Over the last couple of weeks I have been re-watching a classic 90’s tv show called “Babylon 5”. It is without a doubt one of my most favourite shows, I haven’t been able to buy it myself as it’s very rare and it seems very expensive to buy. It’s one of those shows that every couple of years I re-watch the entire series and I always see something new or realise how much I have forgotten since the last time I watched it.

It’s quite a complicated science fiction and quite unique in how it was filmed. The writers had written the entire series before even staring to film, so in this way they were able to shoot events that they knew would end up tying bits of the show together. They would have “Flash Forwards” were in the present, the characters (and the viewers) would see things that would not be happening until further into the series. So before they started filming, they already knew what the outcomes would be.

Awards presented to Babylon 5 include:

  • Emmy AwardOutstanding Individual Achievement in Special Visual Effects, 1993 (The Gathering)
  • Emmy Award: Outstanding Individual Achievement in Hairstyling for a Series , 1994 (episode, “The Parliament of Dreams“)[
  • Hugo AwardBest Dramatic Presentation, 1996 (episode, “The Coming of Shadows“)
  • Hugo Award: Best Dramatic Presentation, 1997 (episode, “Severed Dreams“)
  • Saturn AwardBest Syndicated/Cable Television Series, 1998
