What would you name the autobiography of your life?

Oh, this is a hard one! I’ve come up with a couple…”Life Lessons with Lolly”, “Walks with Lolly”…Something with my nickname in it.

Which do you prefer sweet, salty or buttery?

Can I have all three together?lol…It honestly depends. There is this popcorn called Johnny’s popcorn “sweet and salty”. It is SOOOOOOOO good, but the combination isn’t great on everything. If I had to chose though, I’d do with healthy sweet, lol.

What’s the finest education?

This is going to sound SO lame…Life is truly the finest education. I believe everyone should go to school, it helps gives you the basics (well they should, not all do). Of course there are specialised. Everything else we learn from our every day life to life.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

This has been a great week! Last week was so uncertain, but this week has been fantastic! I got all the things I need to start creating for my little business. The bag that I thought was gone after I tried to find it, last week, I got a call saying someone had found it. Everything was still in it!

It’s a hard-knock life

*I am just going to start off this post with a disclaimer…I am a girl, I do like to play games. I am not a guy and so will be speaking about my perspective about it. I do not hate men, I think they are adorable. This is just something that’s been on my mind a little lately…So let’s share!*

I do believe that world of gaming and geekiness (don’t think that’s an actual word) is definitely becoming more accepting, especially those of the girl gender. We’re still hitting some blocks though, when it comes to “preference” and different opinions…Although to be honest I think that goes for a lot of what’s happening lately. It’s your way or the highway.

What disturbs me though are those people, if they don’t like, or they can’t understand what that other person is saying “your opinion is invalid”.

I HATE IT WHEN SOMEONE SAYS THAT! Even if I don’t agree with what they’ve said, I HATE it when someone says that. It’s one of my pet peeves.

I was in the middle of a Twitter discussion the other day and this guy said that he found when cosplayers do characters just in their underwear, he considered it too be lazy…and OHMYGOODNESS! He was being attacked and everyone was saying they didn’t care about his opinion and it was invalid. The ironic thing was, that’s what the discussion was about. About cosplayers and what actually constitutes a “costume”. I also have too say…sometimes I agreed with him. We were both severely outnumbered, but I stand by what he and I said. Sometimes I find it cute, like there was a range of Disney Princess bathing suits that was modelled by cosplayers, and I loved it. However, sometimes I think it is lazy when they’re just wearing a wig and matching coloured underwear for a character. Especially if they didn’t even make the underwear.

It’s just an opinion though.

They just leave me uninspired. It’s JUST an opinion.

It’s also the same with games as well…There are always people disagreeing over the graphics in a game.

Trolls harass woman with death and rape threats because new game Mass Effect Andromeda’s animations ‘weren’t good enough

This however was taken to an EXTREME!…And not in a good way!

This is what I think bothers me the most. Is that this “people” were sending these threats over a game…a freaking game! A games graphics is not a life and death situation that should be affecting someones life in such a deadly way.

These “gamer’s” priorities in life are completely skewed.

You Are So Cranky Double Double Toil And Trouble GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

Apart from the very obvious things that are wrong with threatening someone over graphics. Do they not want girls to get into gaming? Do they only want girls to be crept out and never allow them to play their games again? This isn’t exactly the BEST way to make other women and girls want to play. I know when I saw what was going on, I made a conscious decision not to the buy the games…BECAUSE I don’t want to run into any of those douche bags.

Plus…with the cliche saying…If you think you can do it better, then do it.

I’m fine with this not happening

The feud that ruined the Sex and the City movie number 3

Sometimes I am perfectly fine with things just not actually happening…I don’t know how many of you watched the other two…The first one was alright, but I felt could have been so much better. Then the second one…How were they all fine with it? Here are some of the other movies or tv series I could have lived happily without ever seeing are:

  • Death Note…The American series…Why, why did that even happen?
  • Riverdale…I love the comics, I used to play Veronica when my cousins, brothers and I would “play” The Archie’s. The series is alright if you don’t know about the comics. I am glad though it’s introducing a whole new generation to it.

Not everything has to happen or come to life…What about yourselves, do you have a book series or a television series or a movie, that you felt could have probably not happened and you would have been fine with that?

Getting to know the Blogger…Part 4

I just wanted to say that I hope you’ve been enjoying these “Getting to know me Blogs” as much as I’ve been enjoying writing them! Here we go with the last week…

  1. Regularly burn incense?
I have actually been getting more into burning incense and the like. Since I developed an anxiety condition last year, just meditation and calming my mind has been helping and I’ve been really improving. Maybe “getting more into burning…” Isn’t the greatest description in the world.
  2. Who would you like to see in concert?
I would love to see Bruno Mars, but he’s very unlikely to come to my little town.
  3. Hot tea or cold tea?
Hot tea, I’m not even honestly sure that I’ve had even had cold tea. Apart from iced tea…with whip cream!
  4. Tea or coffee?
Oh lordy…How can one choose?! I drink both, however, in some situations I will only drink one during certain times. For example, when I’m sick or have the flu, I will only drink tea as when I’m sick, I can’t stand coffee. I don’t even drink coffee to try and stay awake, I drink coffee as treat almost.
  5. Sugar cookies or snickerdoodles?
I have no idea what a snickerdoodle is, so I’d have to go with sugar cookies.
  6. Can you swim well?
I can alright, but I’m not ready for the English channel or anything like that.
  7. Can you hold your breath without holding your nose?
*tries* Yes, I can! It looks less stupid than when holding it. (Ditto, lol)
  8. Are you patient?
It’s actually one of the things people know the most about me, how patient I can be, when most others would lose it. It’s a trick between not taking things personally and not actually caring. Especially when it comes to work and I know it’s nothing that I’ve stuffed up.
  9. DJ or band at a wedding?
I’d prefer a DJ just because then you can make requests for the original song, rather than someone trying to cover a song. However, I think having a band would look really classy. I’ve been to a funeral where a duo decided to dedicate a song that the deceased really like, and they sounded terrible. I felt it was so disrespectful, the person didn’t like the song because YOU sung it, they liked because the person they liked, sang it. I don’t know, it’s always felt really wrong to me.
  10. Ever won a contest?
No, I’ve had some luck though with my works lottery group. We sometimes win 30-40 bucks here and there…Enough for another ticket.
  11. Ever had plastic surgery?
No, I’m pretty okay with my body. The only thing I wish I could change is that my teeth would be a little whiter. Not stupidly blinding white, but just a little whiter. It’d also look really cool because the two herbivore teeth that are usually next to the two big ones, mine are missing, they just never grew threw. So my teeth look like vampire teeth, and I love it.
  12. Which are better, black or green olives?
I don’t really love Olives, I’d rather not have them…If I had to choose I’d go with the green ones.
  13. Can you knit or crochet?
I can’t really do either, I haven’t crochet in a while, so I’d probably have to restart and relearn.
  14. Best place for a fireplace?
If I could have a dream place for a fireplace, I would have it in a library type room, probably off from the main living area. In a medium sized room, so the air doesn’t get all smokey.
  15. Do you want to get married?
    Only to the right person.
  16. If married, how long have you been married?
    N/A
  17. Who was your HS crush?
Oh I had a lot…I didn’t date any of them, I was way to shy to actually ask. I had a lot though.
  18. Do you cry and throw a fit until you get your own way?
Umm…No, I’m not even sure I did that as a kid. Apparently I used to only throw fits when I was constrained, like when I was put into a seat belt. I hated to be constrained, still do.
  19. Do you have kids?
I am furbaby Aunty and step mama. My brothers dog is technically his, since he’s the whole reason he got her. Only a couple of months after we got her though, he moved to Melbourne and left her with us. My partners cat is actually his ex’s cat, but when they split up, she said to hold onto him for a year and if she didn’t come back, my partner could keep him. She wanted to travel, and his had the cat for about 3 or 4 years now.
  20. Do you want kids?
No right now, there’s still a lot to get settled first. I would prefer to be married first as well.
  21. What’s your favorite color?
The toughest question. I love Yves Saint Laurent’s Babouche yellow. Yes, I chose a nail polish color, they are ever so precise.
  22. Do you miss anyone right now?
Wherever I am, I always miss my mum and my dog, or if I’m with them, I miss my partner and his cat. Don’t tell anyone I said this, but if I could, I would actually live with all of them, my mum, my partner and the cat and the dog. I’d be very happy.Even though Pippy and Travie would probably kill each other. As long as it was a big enough house to give us all enough space.
  23. Who is your favorite author?
At the moment my favourite author is Jodi Picoult. I think I have literally every single one of her books and I would highly recommend them. Especially if you are a person that likes to look at how other people think.
  24. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I actually really like the city where I live, home is where the heart is. As mentioned above though, I would just love a really huge house. Where I could live with whoever, but also enough room for visitors. Maybe somewhere near a beach. Should be easy…right?

Share Your World … Feb Week 1 2017

Regarding your fridge, is it organized or a mess inside?

It’s relatively organised, some might call it an “organised mess”. I know where everything is, isn’t that what matters?

Do you prefer your food separated or mixed together?

If I am really hungry, I just want to eat the food. Usually I don’t mind either way as long as it doesn’t make the food all soggy.

Do you prefer reading coffee table books (picture), biographies, fiction, non-fiction, educational?

It depends honestly, I like genre’s or books like Agatha Christie, but I also enjoying reading about real life crime…Well…Not “enjoy” that would be weird, but I find it intriguing.

Close your eyes. Listen to your body. What part of your body is seeking attention? What is it telling you?

At the moment it is definitely a connection between my mind and my stomach. I was suffering from a anxiety issue since last year and I was starting to get over it and I had a “bad day” a couple of weekends ago and I’m kind of having to restart again. It’s so frustrated and I’m fed up with dealing with it, but you gotta do what you gotta do. That’s the problem with the mind though, it’s hard to fight it.

Share Your World …. January2017 Week 4

Share Your World Jan 17…Week 4

*Usually I post this on a Thursday afternoon. I’ve just had so many ideas for post this week, it’s kind of just gotten to Friday instead. All should return to normal next week*

Do you prefer juice or fruit?

Oh wow, this is a good one because I really do love both of them. Especially since it’s Summer here at the moment and during Summer I hate drinking hot drinks and love drinking cold drinks like Juices. I’d probably have to go with fruit though because I can have fruit whenever and there are some pieces of fruit I have all year round. Whereas with Juice, I tend to have to be in the mood to drink it.

Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it?

I grew up in a small town and kind of still down. The capital city that I live in Australia is probably the smallest of the Capital Cities in Australia. Even when I went to Melbourne…Melbourne…I managed to STILL bump into someone from South Australia and not just that…We WORK in the same building!

If you were to paint a picture of your childhood, what colors would you use?

I think it was would be very magically relaxed.  So probably lot of soft colours, probably lavenders, sky blues…Just think of Fairy and Unicorn colours, but nothing harsh.

Ways to Relax List: Make a list of what relaxes you and helps you feel calm.

  • Listening to Celtic music…I just go somewhere with it.
  • I love to colour in, it just helps me focus.
  • A nice long shower, especially if the temperature is right!
  • The Sims 4…It both helps me relax, but it can also stir me up.
  • I love to dress up in costumes and wigs I have around the house, it’s just fun. I never post the pictures, but I do take a lot of them, lol

Would you prefer to receive a unicycle, bicycle, tricycle or motorcycle?

I have always wanted to ride a Motorcycle, but because I am so little I feel like riding a Motorcycle would be far too powerful for me to handle. I would rather not die.

What is one thing you’d like to accomplish this year?

If you see my next answer to the below question, you can tell what one of the would be. I would like to just start getting out a bit more, stop worrying so much. I am hoping to get a better job with much better and more steady hours. I just want to be able to do more of what I feel like I missed out on last year. I’ve got techniques and exercises that I am planning on using every couple of days now, rather than just when I feel some anxiety coming on.

What was one of the highlights of 2016 for you?

2016 was a little weird for me, I had a anxiety issue come up in August and it affected everything else that’s been going on for me. That ended up causing a lot of problems for me, which I have been doing something about and I am getting better. A lot of highlights for me was just getting through an event with worrying too much, or just forgetting I even had an issue.

Would you prefer to fly a kite or fly in a hot air balloon?

I would prefer to fly in a kite, I get motion sickness. Although I don’t think that it would be too bad flying in a hot air balloon. I just would rather not take that risk, what if it’s a bad day, or there’s a sudden gust of wind?! I would rather be able to relax and flying a kite just seems more relaxing to me.

I hope that you have a good day

So I hope that you all had a great day yesterday however it was spent. Whether you celebrate it or not, and that’s all good. My day started off with excitement when we were woken up in the middle of the night, the people who lived across the road have a brush fence. We had a loud repetitive banging on the door and when we ventured out, the fence was on fire, and the fire was so fierce, that we actually thought that the house was on fire.

Which then kind of set the feeling for the day. I haven’t had to go to a partners family thing in a really long time. I think I’ve only actually had to do it once or twice, and I was exhausted!

I think one of the reasons I didn’t feel a Christmassy this year, was this whole “attack on Christmas thing”. This may come as a shock as some, but not everyone celebrates Christmas, for various reasons. The world is made of very different people, different backgrounds, different beliefs or “non-beliefs”. If they want to say Happy Holidays, they are absolutely allowed too…No one is making you say Happy Holidays. Say Merry Christmas if you want, but understand something…

NOT EVERYTHING REVOLVES AROUND YOU

NOT EVERYONE CELEBRATES CHRISTMAS

IT’S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT YOU

I think it’s the main reason I LOVE celebrating Christmas with my Mum’s side, we just are so laid-back, if someone’s late, or if someone ‘accidentally’ says “Happy Holidays” it’s perfectly fine.

Books and Our Emotions

Last week I posted a review about a book that had taken me literally years to read:I DID IT!!!

The reason I’m writing this post is because in my previous post, I pointed out that I had had trouble with reading this particular book for years, and I do mean YEARS. I wont get into too much detail about what happened. Long story short, I went through and was going through a nasty breakup when I first started to read the book. There we two girls who made my life a living nightmare and ended getting a lot of people to hate me. Without these people having a conversation with me.

The book ended up being too close for comfort, because a lot of theme of the book was this women getting attacked from all sides. Most of the attacks came from people she cared about and with no one talking to her at all.

The point of my post today is that sometimes this does happen and most of the time it can be very unexpected. In fact, there has been recent discussion over the last couple of years about even putting “triggers warnings” in the front of some controversial books.

Trigger warnings are important — and so are books on sensitive subjects

I think with a lot of us who like to read, we read to escape, and it can be very disappointing when we come across a book, that we were so excited to read and then realise, we cant’. I just want to tell you all:

IT IS OKAY TO PUT THE BOOK DOWN

Never ever force yourself to read a book you just cannot. It is okay to go to yourself “I cannot read that right now” I don’t care how much you were looking forward to it, or if it is really popular…Put It Down! There’s really only one way to make sure you start to hate to read and that would be to make yourself read a book you are just not ready for.
