I finally saw the movie where these guys come from. George of the Jungle! I was watching and thinking too myself “I know those guys”…Then it clicked.
The whole of last night, I was by myself, so I washed my hair, had some dips, crackers and vegemite on toast. Since I’ve had my wisdom teeth taken out, I got some much needed time to myself. So that’s literally what I did, chill. I went on such a nostalgia run last night. I didn’t even drink any wine.
What do you like to do, to just “chill”?
Last past weekend, I was really happy to see that during the evening they played some real classic tv. They had “Dads Army”, “Open all Hours”, “Keeping up Appearance”, “Too the manor born” and so many more. I spent the whole night watching classic television.
So lovely, I just sat there all Saturday night with a good book, and all these classic television shows. They just don’t make them like that anymore. I don’t know about the rest of you, but on our tv, they seem to be making more and more “reality” tv shows. They are so boring.
I want to change this post a little this week. Over this week, I was listening to some songs that make me nostalgic for how I think my country used to be, and how it should be.
Music is a different form of communication, it can make us feel so many different ways. It can invoke emotions that we sometimes forget are there. What I am going to do this week, is post five songs that make me “sappy” for my country, Australia. When I hear these songs, it reminds me that there is something beautiful still in my country.
I would LOVE for you all to either pingback five songs of your own, that represent your country to you. Doesn’t matter why. If you don’t want to do a whole post, then please post in the comments, the songs you think represent your country to you. If it’s your country’s anthem, go for it!
When I was in America, I sometimes would listen to this one song on repeat:

I mean, everyone and anyone whose anyone, thinks this should be Australia’s National Anthem:
I still call Australia home- Peter Allen – Uploaded by:

You are very much missed Peter Allen ❤ ❤ ❤
This one, speaks a lot about what’s wrong with Australia. Especially with the treatment of Australian Aboriginal People. You can’t have the good without the bad. On a funnier side, this is the video that made a lot of men scared of Peter Garrett, because of his dancing, haha.

Seriously, is there anything better than indigenous (of any culture) music?

I am posting a link to the Radio Mix of the same song, that I think a lot of Australian’s will be more “used too” Both are fantastic though.

Do you have any IDEA how hard it is, to pick just 5 songs? lol … I do HAVE to include “the voice” though, lol
John Farnham – You’re the Voice (Official Video) Uploaded by:
John Farnham
Extremely honorable mentions:
Jimmy Barnes
Noiseworks
Dusty Slim
Icehouse
Sherbert
Daryl Braithwaite
Not expected mentions:
Look … I know AC/DC, Kylie Minogue, INXS, etc. Are Australian bands/singers, do they have songs that make me think “Australia”. That’s fine. This isn’t a list of what Australian bands and singers are my favourite. These are a list of songs, that make me think Australia and make me love Australia. Not sorry, but Kylie Minogue doesn’t have one, lol.
Before you start listening to the whole thing, it’s about 10 seconds of each song. So prepared to be happy, and then 10 seconds later, it’s taken away from you again…JUST LIKE 2020!

What’s the biggest screw up in the kitchen that you were responsible for?
Well people who know me would make fun of me just being in the kitchen. I am just not a cooker at all. Mainly though because no one ever let me cook really. If I tried people would get frustrated with me because I was slow, but that was because no one would let me cook. At least I didn’t burn two minute noodles! The biggest screw up in the kitchen I’ve “done” is breaking the bin…But I knew it was going to happen, because it was already over filled and when that happens the lid gets stuck. Since we had people over Mum decided to get everyone to look at me and say “Shows you how often Lauren takes the bin out”. It was so awkward.
What, in your opinion, makes people believe absurd conspiracy theories?
I think it’s both a lack of life experience and not getting out enough and someones upbringing. As much as I despise generalisations, they are there for a reason.
In 40 years what will people be nostalgic for?
I think we’ll be nostalgic for what we are nostalgic for now. The circle keeps spinning. They have just recently been bringing back all my old childhood toys. It’s been weird!lol
Is a hot dog a sandwich?
I think so. It’s got bread, in a roll form and it had a filling.
What wonderful thing happened to you this week that you’d like to share? It can be a gratitude moment or something that just made you feel very happy at the time or made you laugh.
I have had a really good week. I was told that some of my ex friends were talking shizzle about me on their Facebook pages and I didn’t care. I expected it, they’ve been doing this since High School, they still stalk their ex’s pages. It was though the first time I realised how sad they are, they are supposed to be going through the happiest time of their lives right now…and they’re talking about me? Making other people feel weird and uncomfortable, showing who they truly are.
First it was Koala Bear, now it’s Fairy Toast…Oh America, what will we do with you?
Americans have managed to get fairy bread all wrong
By the way we don’t usually have Fairy Bread for breakfast, but I am kind of tempted now!
