Crushed Caramel HAS NOMINATED ME FOR THE VERSATILE BLOGGER AWARD

What a better way to start a new blogging year than with a nomination!

The Rules

  1. Thank the person who gave you the award and include a link to their blog – Thank you Caramel!
  2. Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.
  3. Select 10 -15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly and nominate those bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.

First the thank you

Thank you Crushed Caramel

7 things about yourself.

  • I am not actually sure what to write about. I am pretty open on here, it’s one of the rare places that I can open up. I guess that is something about myself, I don’t open up very well. Except when it comes to writing.
  • I would normally say to people not to drink alone, but you know something? I do! And I love it! I feel like people should never get drunk on their own. But drinking, where you dance around the house and generally have fun, yeah, you should. Unless, you’re an alcoholic of course. Then you really should not drink by yourself. It’s all about knowing yourself, and what you can/cannot handle.
  • I really honestly only enjoy celebrating Christmas. I don’t like celebrating my birthday, valentines. Although I will, last year, I completely forgot about our Anniversary. It’s in December, but this (last) year, even without Travie going missing, I just forgot completely about it.
  • This probably is not that much of a surprise to people. I want to get rid of my little “pouch” without having to do much, this year.
  • Even though I stream, I am really such a noob at gaming still. That’s why I don’t mind if you all just come and watch. I don’t mind making myself a fool to make others happy =D
  • I want my partner to spend money on his garden. So I don’t have to do it, and make it look “stable”. I just want it to look nice already. So then I can totally come in and just take care of it and don’t have to fix it up. I love the meditative state it brings with it, but I am so over it. If I can make it look nice, then he wont want to get rid of the lovely huge tree next door.
  • I really like my butt. It’s a little white girl butt, but I love it

Select 10 -15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly and nominate those bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.

I want to know more about you! If you feel like doing this as well, go for it!

The Sunshine Blogger Award

Sunshine Blogger

So far I am starting off feeling 2020, actually pretty alright. Despite all the terrible things, lol

The Sunshine Blogger Award

The Rules

  1. Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to him/her.
  2. Answer 11 questions provided by the blogger who nominated you.
  3. Nominate 11 other bloggers and ask them 11 new questions.
  4. Notify the nominees by commenting on one of their blog posts.
  5. List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your blog post.Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to him/her. (Check)

I was nominated by the lovely “The Wee Writing Lassie” (head over and check her out!) I would really honestly like to thank her, because she has come up with some amazing questions! Questions that did make me happy =D I am completely honoured that she nominated myself.

My Questions

  1. Who is your favorite author? I don’t know which list would be shorter for me. Every year I end up reading a book from a couple of new authors. I am one of those people who when you see “recommended” I put it on my tbr list. Interestingly, haven’t found a author I haven’t really liked yet.
  2. If you could rule one of these five fictional/mythical lands: the Galaxy of Star Wars, King Arthur’s Britain, Westeros, Middle-Earth or Discworld – which one would it be and why? Oh gosh, that is a really good list. My top two would be King Arthurs’ Britain or Middle-Earth. I think, by process of elimination though, I would want to rule in Middle Earth. Because isn’t Middle Earth, just a better (haha) version of King Arthur’s world?
  3. If you had the powers of a god, what would you do with them? The first thing I would do is come to Earth and give those “Christian Conservatives” a piece of my mind! Stop using our friends name is vain, when they’re not even Christ-like to begin with!
  4. Which famous historical figure would you have round to dinner? Oh, this like the first couple of questions!lol. There are so many choices! I think though I would have to have W. Shakespeare, I found out something recently, that has made me think that he wasn’t just a great writer. I found out that at a time where most people were writing about the Jewish people, kind of like Hitler would. Shakespeare was writing about the Jewish people and how OTHERS were treating them. How they had no problem asking for money from the Jewish people, but would call them “dog” and spit on them in the streets.
  5. You’ve been abducted by aliens, and they demand that you take them to your leader – who do you take them to? Well, if they are nice aliens I am taking them to Adern and Obama. If they are more the “probing” type, Johnson, Trump, Putin and Morrison.
  6. If there was a film made of your life story, which famous actor would you want to play you? Living or Dead? Living, I would want it to be Drew Barrymore. Some may say that I look more like Natalie Portman, and I wish that I looked more like Liv Tyler. However I feel that Drew Barrymore is more “me”. Well she’s more me now, than when she was younger. If someone could come back to life, it’d have to be Audrey Hepburn.
  7. If you were trapped in a historical time (presumably your time machine has malfunctioned) what period would you be most likely to survive in? I don’t think I could honestly survive any other time that now. I’m too “weird” for the other times and I don’t want to be any other way.
  8. What is your favorite kind of weather and why? I love Spring type weather, it’s not overly hot like Summer. It does have a warmer wind, unlike Winter. You can wear a dress and a skirt, if you want. You can put it with a cute jacket though.
  9. Chocolate or Caramel? Why not both?lol…I think I am more caramel than chocolate, but at the same time. Sometimes caramel can be really rich and sickly.
  10. If you could turn into any mythical creature, which one would it be? As my Gran calls me “as rare as the Unicorn, is the maiden of fair spirit”. A Pegasus Unicorn creature. As much as I would love to be a Dragon, they are huge and they tend to only need to eat meat.
  11. Who are you most grateful to in your life? I am grateful for literally everyone in my life, even the bad ones. Each person is here to teach us a lesson.

3-2-1 Quote Me!

3-2-1 Quote Me! – Happiness

The Rules:

  • Thank the selector
  • Post 2 quotes for the dedicated Topic of the Day, “Happiness”
  • Select 3 bloggers to take part in ‘3-2-1 Quote Me!’

Thank the Selector:

I would very much like to thank “Life Lessons From Around the Dinner Table”. I am very honoured to be nominated for such an award. I absolutely love to bring happiness and share happiness with those around me. So hopefully through this nomination, I can share some secret to my happiness. Or you think of these if you are feeling down.

Post 2 quotes for the dedicated Topic of the Day, “Happiness”

Unicron

Sometimes the things that make me happiest, are not quotes about happiness, necessarily. This one makes me grin every single time.

Dalai-Lama Happiness

Not only do I love the Dalai Lama, but I also absolutely agree with this quote. Suffering from anxiety, a lot of the times I have recognised that it is my own head. I have ways to get myself back together again. So sometimes yes, it is up to us and our actions to ‘get happy’. The moment you stop relying on others to make you happy. It’s freeing! It’s still nice to have people who can make you happy, but do it for yourself first.

Select 3 bloggers to take part in ‘3-2-1 Quote Me!’

I’m going to tag three people who I don’t think have recevied this one, or if they have. It’s been a while, but also because they’re blog makes me happy in some way or another. But if you want to do it as well…Please feel free!

real neat awar

The rules are quite simple

  • Answer the 7 questions posed
  • Gift 3 Bloggers with the award
  • Pose 7 new question.

My Nominated Questions

What is your worst ever fashion disaster?

Oh my family know VERY well my worst ever fashion disaster, but it’s kind of annoying because I was helping build a dingy, I wasn’t really thinking “what pants go best with sanding?”. My situation went something like this with my brother and cousin paying me out.

The “leggings” that I was wearing at the time, were pretty baggy and they had all boat glue over them. I wasn’t there for a runway, I was there to help my Grandpa! For some reason, to this day, I know how horrible those pants were, but to this day. People wont let me forget it, but I don’t get why it was such a big deal?

What was your big dream as a child?

I wanted to do everything! I wanted to be a Fairy queen, I wanted to be a Ballerina, I wanted to be a hairdresser. What dream didn’t I have?

What was the worst thing you did at school?

I hate to admit this, I nearly killed or seriously injured a teacher, total accident! We were doing Archery, and the teacher was out looking in the field looking for the arrows we had already shot. I was not concentrating at all, I can’t even remember what we were talking about, but I just loaded up my bow and shot! Luckily it hit the board, and luckily the teacher was looking for the spare arrows, way out on the oval. But oh my goodness! I still live with the guilt.

Would you rather meet a ghost or an alien or Donald Trump?

The only reason I do not want to “meet” Trump is because then I would be in jail, for murder. I kid you not. I am over it and I’m not even American! I keep asking myself how do people like Dr Martin Luther King Jr, The Kennedy’s, John Lennon…Why do these good people end up being killed so young? Yet, we gotta put up with Trump.

I’d rather meet a ghost to be honest. Too think to be able to meet a spirit kind of fascinates me. I feel like meeting an alien might disappoint me, where as the thought of meeting a ghost makes me feel interested. If I could talk about them, what death is like, why are they still hanging around, what do they think of the world today…Even better!

Would you rather have lots of friends or one great friend?

Without a doubt one great friend. I have a learnt from the past, a good friend can make a lot of difference in your life.

If you could be one cartoon character who would it be?

Is Belle from Beauty and the Beast considered a cartoon? Harley Quinn and Rogue from X-Men seem really messed up honestly…Too much like myself, lol

Disney Beauty GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

What’s the funniest thing you have ever done?

I think just existing is funny to others. Not in a nasty way though honestly. I crack up one of my coworkers all the time, she thinks I am real posh because I say I am going to the “bathroom” instead of the toilet, lol. Like a proper young lady.

Which of these statements is true for you, and why?

Versatile

The rules of the Versatile Blogger Award are as follows:

1. If you are nominated, Congratulations you have been awarded the Versatile blogger award!

2. Thank the person who gave you the award and include a link to their blog.

3. Select 10 -15 blogs/bloggers (other numbers are allowed if you can’t count like myself) that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.

4. Nominate those bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.

5. Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

My Nominations

  1. This year, for my birthday, I am determined to go to our most well known beach town and watch the sunset. See, the problem is my birthday is in the beginning of Winter, well end of April. So the weather is always horrible around my birthday. I’m thinking of doing it a couple weeks earlier than usual.
  2. I have always wanted to move like Jackie Chan…But who doesn’t? I think it’s the closest we can get to superhero…ism.
  3. Speaking of superheroes one of my favourite anti-heroes is Harley Quinn, but I absolutely hate her “relationship” with the Joker. I really do detest it. I also realised though she’s the only favourite female character I like that is blonde. All the other female characters I like, are brunette. My other favourites are Rogue (80’s XMen tv series/comic…They ruined her in those movies!) Tifa Lockhart (FF7), Belle (Beauty and the Beast).
  4. I realised the other day that the entire time I have known my current partner, I’ve been sick. When I first met him, I had a sciatica, then that dissipated. Then I had my anxiety attack, then after a bit more of a longer while, that “went away”. It’s definitely not gone just ‘easier’. Now I’ve had this stomach thing, which apparently is just a bug and I’ve been getting better. But I’ve had that since I came off my anxiety tablets.
  5. I am always up for a Disney marathon. Though, that one probably isn’t really that shocking.

Today is the Day *hugs*

Today is the day where we find out if Brett Kavanaugh gets nominated or not.

I don’t feel like anything I say will bring any comfort.

Even though there’s no reason to think why he would, since he has not met standards…Not even the basic ones.

A few should not be ruining the lives of millions 😥 It isn’t even about the sexual allegations. It’s about the perjury, it’s about the information that they’re hiding, it’s about the documents that they refused to release and it’s about what even lead up to the allegations to begin with #Ibelieveher Also vote for getting rid of life time positions, no one should have that kind of power!

  • Records not all released, unlike the other nominations in the past.
  • The perjury…Oh, what somebody please think of the Perjury!
  • The allegations
  • The not looking into the allegations.

All I can offer today is this…

Friends Hug GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

“Some believe it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love.

Writing my Heart out  – Sunshine Blogger Award

Thank you to Writing my Heart out for the nomination (sorry it took so long!) You should really all go and have a read, because they are truly writing from their heart!

The Rules For Sunshine Blogger Award

  • Thank to the person that nominated you.
  • Link the post back to them.
  • Display the picture on your post.
  • Answer their questions.
  • Nominate 10 bloggers.
  • Provide 11 questions for your nominees.

My Questions

  1. Why do you write blogs?

When I first started, I wasn’t exactly sure why I was keeping up with it. Even now, I’m not sure. I have a very random Blog. I don’t seem to have a “type”. Whatever I’m writing though seems to be keeping people interested and they keep reading. I guess I’m writing as well to show people that you don’t to have a “set theme” either. Just writing to reach out and reach out to others, keeps me coming back. I have found the nicest people writing my Blog.

2. What are Top 5 lessons you’ve learned in your life?

  • If ANY relationship is not working well (toxic) for you anymore, no matter how long you’ve known the person. Speak with them first and if nothing changes, move on. It’s alright.
  • If you, also for any reasons, can’t work in your dream career. Make sure that the job you are in, you at least like the people you work with.
  • I believe dark times will reveal who you are, but also, those people around you too.
  • Furbabies ARE family, they can be so much better than humans. Animals in general, don’t underestimate them!
  • There will always be that one paragraph on your Word document that just will not format properly, like the rest!

3. Are you an Introvert or an Extrovert?

Oh definitely an Introvert, especially when I’m around people I don’t know or know that well. I explain myself like this: When I’m getting to know you or first meet you, I am a Fluttershy. When I know you well, I am Pinkie Pie. Yes, that is a My Little Pony reference.

4. Who’s your favourite Music band?

I don’t really have a favourite band, I just like what I like. I like everything from Enya, to Metallica, to Eminem (sometimes).

 5. What’s best book you’ve read & like to recommend others?

Oh gosh! This is a huge list to choose from! I might just choose from one that I’ve read from this year. I am still in love with “Circe” written by Madeline Miller. I love it so much I am going to ask for it for Christmas and if I don’t get I’ll buy it anyway.

6. What’s best life advice you ever got from someone?

It’s not really advice, it’s more of a “knowing”…Knowing that I’ve got help around me, I just need to reach out and ask.

 7. Name your favourite festival.

I haven’t gone to a musical festival in a couple of years, my favourite WAS Soundwave and I got to see Metallica…AMAZING!!! They actually had Linkin Park first and there were amazing too. However, I am a big Nerd. So I love all the “Cons”. I just wish I lived in America, so I could go to the San Diego one! It’s on the bucket list.

   8. Describe moment when you were proud of yourself.

Even though we ended up not being friends anymore. I am proud of myself that I stood up and told my “best friend” of half my life. That her boyfriend is abusive and a bully and she can do better. I think this was the third or fourth time they had broken up and when I heard he had pushed her while they were drunk, that was it. The ONLY thing I regret I have, was not to saying to her when she would say to me “I know you don’t like him” was “What is there too like?”.

9. Which is that one movie which has inspired you the most?

I’m not sure about inspired, but I guess I also do…lol…All of the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbits…It inspires me and with one simple quote…

SamWise

   10.  Are you a health conscious or a food freak?

Only when I have to be, if that makes any sense? This last and past year with everything that happened to myself and others in my life (My Dad had a triple bypass, a friend who is a year younger than I, had a heart attack etc) You do start to become more aware.

   11. If you have read my blogs , what’s your favourite blog written by me ?

I do read your Blogs! My favourite had to be Music: My escape This is mainly because I can relate to it so much.

My Questions to my Nominees

  1. If money was no object, what would you be doing on the first day? (Or I guess right now) Would you be working in your dream career?
  2. If it wasn’t completely morally (and sometimes illegally) wrong to keep a wild animal, which one would you want to keep?
  3. What would be your favourite Mythical pet to have?
  4. What is the hardest and the best life lessons you’ve learnt?
  5. As my therapist asked me my first session, are you a worrier or a warrior?
  6. What is your meaning of life?
  7. What is the one thing you would love to be able to “do” to make the world a better place?
  8. How do you, or would like to, spread kindness?

Why did I start this blog?

Those who have been reading my Blog since the beginning (if any are still around). I actually started this Blog for a school project. I am still amazed with how long I have taken this!

I have met some honestly fantastic writers and people. Every single persons Blog I follow and read, every single Blog post that I have liked. It keeps me going. I try to reply to all the comments that I get. I also like to read through and like people’s posts, even if I don’t have a comment to write. I like liking posts to show that I am reading them.

The Rules …

1] Thank the nominator

Thank you so much! Life Lessons around the dinner table! I had so much fun doing this, it got dark there…But oh so much fun!

2] Answer Q1 – Q19

3] Nominate three bloggers of your choice and notify them.

4] Each selected blogger MUST answer 16 of the asked 19 questions, but also insert 3 new questions to make up the 19 compliment. Every time a new blogger is selected they MUST only answer 16 of the asked 19 questions as well as answer their own 3, and choose 3 new bloggers. Each time a new blogger sees the questionnaire it will be completely different to the next blogger along.

[Hint: delete three of the questions you don’t like or have no answer for and insert your own in its place]

5] Q20 & Q14  Must always remain intact.

The Questions:

1] Have you ever seen a show where there was no “ending”to the case, does that frustrate you?

Oh yes! I watch the Crime channel and there is nothing worse than getting invested in a show or someones murder. Then the show doesn’t end with anything happening…That’s the worst!

2] Do you believe in the “Slender Man”

No. I hate what’s happened to those people whose “friends” pretended about the Slender man though.

3] Have you ever had your tarot read?

I have…But I also can do them! But I’ve lost my Tarot Cards and I’m still looking for them.

4] What unsolved murder unsettled you the most?

Without a doubt, it has to be the “The Staircase Murder/s” It’s an interesting case, mainly because it’s so confusing! They made a whole documentary on it, I’ve watched it from start to finish. It’s such a mystery, even though Michael Peterson was arrested for the crime. The whole thing is “off”. I don’t really know how to describe it, because I don’t know how he was convicted. Yet, there’s something there. I want to know what happened!

5] Would you sleep inside a coffin underground for a night?

Oh Hell No!

6] What is your best detective series?

Homicide Hunter…Don’t know if that’s a “series”, but it’s about the real crimes investigated by Lt Kenda. It’s a great series! He’s one of the most successful Detectives of all time.

7] Is there a horror movie you simply could NEVER watch because of the advertising hype?

No,I don’t actually enjoy horror films at all, in fact. Usually though I also really hate hype. I tried to watch one of the “Saws”, I hid behind my hands. Then I went to the cinema with a few people, including my boyfriend to see “Hostel 2”. I nearly walked out when they killed the kid, I just didn’t watch the rest of it.

8] What is the worst nightmare you have ever experienced? – Describe.

I don’t think it’s the worst nightmare that I have ever experienced, but it’s the only one I keep remembering for some reason. I had it only the once and it has never repeated, it’s weird what we remember. It was all black and white, like an old films and it was just a huge snail eating me, alive. It’s one of the weirdest nightmares I’ve ever had and I’m sure it means something.

9] Do you believe dreams/nightmares represent something else?

I believe that they do most of the time. Sometimes it might just be of something that you watched just as you were falling asleep. I do believe they do, even my above nightmare, at the time, did actually represent something I was going through. It was funny because I was stressed out at the time and thought that the situation was taking a long time to resolve.

10] Would you agree to take part in a seance?

I would love too! I know that they have a bad wrap, but I would absolutely love to take part in one one day.

11] Of all the ways a person could commit murder which do you think is the worst? Why?

There are so many horrible ways to die. I think anything that is slow and painful is horrible. Being buried alive, bleeding out slowly.

12] If you were a detective investigating a murder what would your first steps be at the scene of a brutal death?

After watching Homicide Hunter, I would also scan the room without touching anything. See if there are clues to where the body was found, does it look like a struggle took place, was the house broken into or was the murderer let in? Speak with the first responding officers and double check to see if they have changed or who they have spoken with.

13] Hanging, Injection, guillotine or firing squad what would you prefer?

Guillotine. It’s the quickest.

14] Which 3 questions will you be deleting to add your own in?

1, 2 & 9.

15] Is there justice in the death penalty, or is it pointless?

Oh, this is a tricky question to answer. Sometimes, I think that yes, it can be justified. In fact, I know that some people facing the death penalty have asked for it. They know within themselves that they wont be rehabilitated. Yet, at the same time, they have people who have received the death penalty and they were found later to be innocent.

16] Do you look guilty?

No. I always look sweet and innocent! 🙂

17] If the purge was real, would you hide yourself in a bunker, or would you participate?

Honestly, it’d depend on how I am at the time.

18] Do you think victims of rape or abuse should have the right to murder their attacker?

This is another tough question! I don’t honestly think it would make them feel any better and what about the chance people have to learn and redeem themselves? They should always have a say in their sentences though.

19] What is the best way to test for a psychopath?

I’m not sure…Although I am sure that I have met a few!lol

20] The three bloggers you are nominating are?

Please feel free to do this one! It’s really fun, so I don’t want people to miss out! DO IT NOW!!!

A Blog Award!

The Questions I Was Asked:

  • Are you excited for any particular movie this fall / winter?

I cannot WAIT for the new Thor movie. I have seen all of the Marvel movies and I love how they’ve all interconnected. This one looks like it just full of awesome stuff the whole time. I can’t wait to see what Dr Strange does either. I didn’t expect to love the Dr Strange, but it’s probably one of my favourites and now I can’t wait to see what he does in this movie!

  • If you could go anywhere to see the fall foliage, where would you go, and why?

I would love to go England, I have been there during the Summer. However, I would love to see all of that green turn that beautiful yellow, brown and oranges. It would be fantastic.

  • Is there a new TV show that you are excited to watch?

I can’t wait to see the new Will and Grace series!

  • Do you have any Halloween traditions?

Since I live in Australia, we don’t really have Halloween here as a traditions, but it is definitely growing in popularity. The one that I really do love though is pretty much all of it honestly, haha! I just really love the whole spirit of Halloween. The themed parties, the costumes…I’m not really a scary movie type person though.

  • Who are your three favorite authors, and why?

Jodi Picoult – I love how she writes about topics that are now and relevant. What I love the most though is the twist that she always has.

I might just write about two that I’ve written below about. My other two favourite authors are C.S. Lewis and J.R.R Tolkien. I love the fantasy and how well written they are. One way that I can tell that I am enjoying the book is I make believe myself as a character in the book. I enjoy the book that much I wish to be apart of the book as well. A little embarrassing to admit but true.

  • Is there a particular author that you want to meet in person?

There is actually two authors that I would have loved to have met, but they are both dead now. I would have loved to have met C.S. Lewis and J.R.R Tolkien. While there are modern authors that I would want to meet in persons. These two authors have taken my imagination to places of happiness I never thought possible. It would have been amazing to be a fly on the wall of these authors!

  • Design your perfect library / reading nook / reading spot.

Wow! This could be a whole post in itself.

  • Do you use your local library?

Not only do I use my local Library, but I am now working at it also.

  • Do you shop for books on Black Friday / Cyber Monday?

Once again, because I am not American we don’t really have in store Black Fridays and Cyber Monday. However, thanks to the wonder that is the Internet, we actually have now started to get Internet deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Which I always take advantage of!

  • When you celebrate holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, etc., what book or books do you pack when you travel?

Oh this is a good question. I usually will take a favourite or two. I tend to not take many books, because not only is it kind of rude to read when you’re with your family. Especially at Christmas though I tend to always get a new book.

  • What is your favorite book to read during the holiday season?

I enjoy reading any favourites that I might have lying around. As mentioned above those as well, I tend too read any new books that I may have purchased or received as a present. So I don’t really have a set book that I’ll read. I am hoping though to purchase a tablets, I think it’d be great when I visit my partners family over the holidays. They all live out in the middle of nowhere and all pretty much go to bed early. Last year I got food poisoning, luckily though my partner had downloaded some movies to this little laptop he has.
