Versatile

The rules of the Versatile Blogger Award are as follows:

1. If you are nominated, Congratulations you have been awarded the Versatile blogger award!

2. Thank the person who gave you the award and include a link to their blog.

3. Select 10 -15 blogs/bloggers (other numbers are allowed if you can’t count like myself) that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.

4. Nominate those bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.

5. Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

My Nominations

  1. This year, for my birthday, I am determined to go to our most well known beach town and watch the sunset. See, the problem is my birthday is in the beginning of Winter, well end of April. So the weather is always horrible around my birthday. I’m thinking of doing it a couple weeks earlier than usual.
  2. I have always wanted to move like Jackie Chan…But who doesn’t? I think it’s the closest we can get to superhero…ism.
  3. Speaking of superheroes one of my favourite anti-heroes is Harley Quinn, but I absolutely hate her “relationship” with the Joker. I really do detest it. I also realised though she’s the only favourite female character I like that is blonde. All the other female characters I like, are brunette. My other favourites are Rogue (80’s XMen tv series/comic…They ruined her in those movies!) Tifa Lockhart (FF7), Belle (Beauty and the Beast).
  4. I realised the other day that the entire time I have known my current partner, I’ve been sick. When I first met him, I had a sciatica, then that dissipated. Then I had my anxiety attack, then after a bit more of a longer while, that “went away”. It’s definitely not gone just ‘easier’. Now I’ve had this stomach thing, which apparently is just a bug and I’ve been getting better. But I’ve had that since I came off my anxiety tablets.
  5. I am always up for a Disney marathon. Though, that one probably isn’t really that shocking.

Thank you as well to Okoto for creating this Award.

Three Things about Myself:

  • I have a shoe box full of things that when I’m down, I’ll play with. It wasn’t until recently that I realised that the shoe box is called “Therapy”lol.
  • There are two movies since I can remember that I watch at least once a year “The Red Shoes” and “The Beatrix Potter Ballet” film.
  • I want to foster animals…If I ever win the lottery I will open up my own animal foster care centre.

My Best Posts:

Happy Birthday Baby brother!

I can’t keep Calm! =D

Molly’s questions:

  • Do you have any favourite festive reads? if so, what are they?

I don’t really have any festive reads that I read around this time of year, but there are a lot of Christmas specials on the television that I like to watch. I don’t think that they even had them played last year.

  • Who is your all time favourite book character?

Oh wow, I don’t think that I even have one character that I can think of. There are just way to many for me to pick one. I guess the first person I thought of was Arwen from LotR, both books and films. She is everything I aspire to be.

  • Are you planning on posting Christmassy content in December?

Possibly…I’m not sure yet. I want to post happy and motivating posts in the last couple of weeks. I enjoy New Years, but I feel like renewing is more around the time of your birthday than actual New Years (except of course if New Years IS your birthday).

  • What is the one book you would recommend to anyone?

I’ve only read this year, but I would highly recommend “Circe” by Madeline Miller. It is fantastic! Even though I’ve already read it, I have actually asked for it, for Christmas as well.

  • Do you have any Christmas traditions?

Only really have a couple. We usually put our Christmas tree up on the 1st of December, but take it down 12 days after Christmas. The other one we have is, the adults on our Mums side do a secret Santa, we wrap the presents in newspaper. Helps keep it more secret, but my Grandfather actually started it when he though it was a waste of money to wrap it paper that you just chuck out.

Life Lessons from Around the Dinner Table

Thank you so much Life Lessons from Around the Dinner Table. I really enjoyed writing this. It really made me think and I really enjoyed writing up. Please everyone check her out!

My Questions

  •  What do you think are the 5 most beautiful things in the world? Why?
    a) Peace, pure true peace. When you see it on someone else’s face, or even when you see an animal at peace when they are finally free.
    b) When a young baby smiles, and you know it’s genuine smile.
    c) That moment when the sun is rising and it’s just starting to rise on the horizon.
    d) I don’t know why but the smell of my dog makes me happy. When she wakes up with me she has the smell and she’s so cute. I love just waking up with her and that’s what makes her beautiful. Whereas my partners cat uses his claws, on my face to wake me up, not so beautiful, lol
e)When you go for a walk and everything is just beautiful. The setting is perfect, the weather is perfect. Even your ipod is playing the perfect music.
  • What impression do you think you give when you first meet someone?
I am honestly not really sure. I think a lot of that depends on where I am. Hopefully at work I give a first impression that I know what I’m doing. I definitely know that no matter where I go, people always think I’m friendly. I definitely must give an impression of being open though, because people walk up constantly have conversations with me. Especially “older” people.
  • What one responsibility do you most wish you didn’t have?
Vacuuming. I always offer to do it. Mainly because my hair is so long and thick it falls out everywhere! I shed more than my dog and cat’s hair combined! I hate vacuuming though, it hurts my back and the vacuum cleaner and the carpet are really tough to vacuum.
  • What is your favorite subject to write about?
This may sound totally “up myself” but at the moment I like writing about myself. I have spent so many years not talking about myself and it blew up in a panic attack and myself in the hospital. So I like to talk to myself a lot now, lol…However, now I am trying to focus on others in the world. They need more help than I do right now.
  • What would constitute a perfect day for you?
Being able to wake the day with both the kitty and doggie I love the most, without them fighting and the cat putting claws in my face, lol. A nice bowl of granola and yoghurt, reading and playing games. Probably take my doggie for a walk, because a perfect day would have the perfect weather.
  • For what in your life do you feel most grateful?
Just for the people I have in my life…RIGHT NOW…Right at this moment. Anyone whose reached out, anyone who I’ve been able to talk about my issues freely. Anyone whose just let me talk.
  • What fictional place would you most like to visit?
Without any hesitation…Rivendell. I have literal dreams of going there. I watch the films straight through (if possible) twice a year.
  • Who do you admire most? Why?
Don’t tell anyone this. I admire a lot of people! I have to make special mention to my Gran though. She is what she calls “my person”. Not in terms of possession, but rather the person that just gets me the most. She’s always been so strong in every way possible, as she’s getting older she is losing it a little bit, she’s becoming more frightened of everything. It’s hard to watch.
  • Is there a book that had an impact on your life? If so, what was it?
This list would be easier if I could talk about the ones that haven’t impacted my life. I cannot honestly choose, so many are popping into my head.
  • Where is the most interesting place you’ve visited?
It’s actually the difference between two places. A few years ago I was in American in Arizona and then from there I went to England. The difference between the two was immediate and astounding! It was so dry in Arizona, then when I arrived in England it was just SO green!
  • If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
Honestly I would go to Disneyland. Apart from Egypt and Greece, I’ve wanted to go there my whole life. I feel at the moment, I’d be so happy there. I want to visit Egypt, but it’s so scary there right now. Disneyland would just make me happy. Greece, I can see myself walking around and I don’t really want to do that.Nominate 5-11 bloggers you want to give the award to.*I’m going to nominate some people, but please feel free to do this if you so wish and then just link back to myself*

Thank you to Hot Shot Headlines for this nomination!

liebster-blog-awards-2

The Rules: Liebster Award

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Answer the 11 questions they gave you.
  • Nominate 11 blogs.
  • Give them 11 questions to answer.

The Questions I Was Asked:

  • Are you excited for any particular movie this fall / winter?

I cannot WAIT for the new Thor movie. I have seen all of the Marvel movies and I love how they’ve all interconnected. This one looks like it just full of awesome stuff the whole time. I can’t wait to see what Dr Strange does either. I didn’t expect to love the Dr Strange, but it’s probably one of my favourites and now I can’t wait to see what he does in this movie!

  • If you could go anywhere to see the fall foliage, where would you go, and why?

I would love to go England, I have been there during the Summer. However, I would love to see all of that green turn that beautiful yellow, brown and oranges. It would be fantastic.

  • Is there a new TV show that you are excited to watch?

I can’t wait to see the new Will and Grace series!

  • Do you have any Halloween traditions?

Since I live in Australia, we don’t really have Halloween here as a traditions, but it is definitely growing in popularity. The one that I really do love though is pretty much all of it honestly, haha! I just really love the whole spirit of Halloween. The themed parties, the costumes…I’m not really a scary movie type person though.

  • Who are your three favorite authors, and why?

Jodi Picoult – I love how she writes about topics that are now and relevant. What I love the most though is the twist that she always has.

I might just write about two that I’ve written below about. My other two favourite authors are C.S. Lewis and J.R.R Tolkien. I love the fantasy and how well written they are. One way that I can tell that I am enjoying the book is I make believe myself as a character in the book. I enjoy the book that much I wish to be apart of the book as well. A little embarrassing to admit but true.

  • Is there a particular author that you want to meet in person?

There is actually two authors that I would have loved to have met, but they are both dead now. I would have loved to have met C.S. Lewis and J.R.R Tolkien. While there are modern authors that I would want to meet in persons. These two authors have taken my imagination to places of happiness I never thought possible. It would have been amazing to be a fly on the wall of these authors!

  • Design your perfect library / reading nook / reading spot.

Wow! This could be a whole post in itself.

  • Do you use your local library?

Not only do I use my local Library, but I am now working at it also.

  • Do you shop for books on Black Friday / Cyber Monday?

Once again, because I am not American we don’t really have in store Black Fridays and Cyber Monday. However, thanks to the wonder that is the Internet, we actually have now started to get Internet deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Which I always take advantage of!

  • When you celebrate holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, etc., what book or books do you pack when you travel?

Oh this is a good question. I usually will take a favourite or two. I tend to not take many books, because not only is it kind of rude to read when you’re with your family. Especially at Christmas though I tend to always get a new book.

  • What is your favorite book to read during the holiday season?

I enjoy reading any favourites that I might have lying around. As mentioned above those as well, I tend too read any new books that I may have purchased or received as a present. So I don’t really have a set book that I’ll read. I am hoping though to purchase a tablets, I think it’d be great when I visit my partners family over the holidays. They all live out in the middle of nowhere and all pretty much go to bed early. Last year I got food poisoning, luckily though my partner had downloaded some movies to this little laptop he has.

The next steps:

  • Nominate 11 blogs.
  • Give them 11 questions to answer.

dragons-loyalty-award

The Dragon’s Loyalty Award is meant to acknowledge those who regularly read and comment on your blog. The rules for it are pretty simple:
–Show off your achievement by displaying the award.
–Link back to the person who bestowed this award upon you.
–Nominate up to 15 of your regular readers (less than 15 is just fine, though).
–Let them know that they’ve been nominated.
–Share 7 interesting facts about yourself.

Seven interesting facts about me:
1- I’m more of a “dancer” in the shower, rather than a singer.
2- I used to have a “dream diary” and I will kill you all if you try to find it =P lol
3- I am into Reiki http://www.reikiaustralia.com.au/
4- I have always preferred vegetables and fruits over everything else, I was always the weird one,lol
5- I am actually not a chocolate person, I have to be in the mood to eat it…I like my chips/crisps much more!
6- I am really enjoying the tv show Gotham and I am honestly really surprised.
7- I have such a diverse life, I have people from all walks in my life. It’s great!

Now, I’m supposed to nominate 15 regular readers and alert them all of said nomination, but I am just going to nominate a few (possibly I would love to know more about them ~.^) It’s up to them whether or not they want too do  it.

Inspired Blogger Award

I was very happy to see and receive (sorry, I’ve only just seen the post) an award for being a “A very inspiring Blogger” Award from Live Love Laugh…I am extremely honoured to have received this award and here are the rules!

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you.

http://livelovelaughdotme2.com/  … Thank you! ❤

  1. List the rules and display the award
    .very-inspiring-blogger-award1
  2. Share 7 facts about yourself.
Fact 1: Blogging is a private pleasure for me, none of my family or friends know that I do this. Although if they found it I wouldn’t feel a need to apologise for it. This is just something that is ‘mine’.Fact 2: I’ve started writing a story based on a game that I used to play and a friend of mine drew the characters for, but I have just literally started it and I had no how long the process would take. Don’t expect to see anything about it for a long time.

Fact 3: I am obsessed with the television show “Homicide Hunter: Lt. Joe Kenda (2011-)“…Check it out!

Fact 4: I desperately want to start Cosplaying, but I don’t really have the skills to start it.

Fact 5: I love those YouTube fan made videos, but now I’m worried with all this ‘crackdown’on Copyright and stuff, I might get “caught”.

Fact 6: If I could describe myself as well-known character to describe myself, it’d be Rogue from X-Men.

Fact 7: As long as I have been watching the Safari’s, I still can’t watch kills, lol

Love in ten sentences…

I was nominated by the lovely Passion through Poetry to participate in the “Love in Ten Sentences” http://movingtowardsthelight.com/2015/03/13/love-in-ten-sentences/ The basis concept is is to write a ten line poem each containing four words and the letter “love”. Mine doesn’t rhyme (I actually wrote this a few days ago, but I was unsure whether to to post it or not) and in case you couldn’t guess it was a bad day for me =P

Love that’s been abused,

True torment, love heals

Pain lives, Love dies,

Love those around instead

Love carries swirling emotions

Heart carries love burden,

Love damages the heart,

Love cures the heart,

I love my heart,

I love it most.

The other thing I need to do is nominate 10 people. I am not one of those people or Bloggers that will force another person to do this, so please feel free to do or not to do,lol. In no particular order I nominate:
