Grimms for the ages!

To break this down the Grimms fairy tales were written many, many years ago by the Grimms brothers…brothers who wrote fairy-tales…Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm.

Now these fairy tales are not your average Disney fairy tales. They were not written for the faint of hearted. They were quiet gruesome and were more like your worst nightmare coming true rather than your favourite fantasy. The stories they wrote were ones like “Cinderella“, “Sleeping Beauty (Little Briar Rose)”“, ““Rumpelstiltskin”“…Just to name a few. Read about them if you dare!

So I am aware of these stories and volunteering at my local Library I had noticed in the young adults/teenage section that they have a “Graphic novel” section. This means pretty much it’s a section for “comic books”. In this bunch of was a whole group of “Grimm fairytales” but in manga/comic book form. I’ve checked out a few and they are fantastic! I would highly recommend it for young people or for those who really cannot get into reading.

They have the whole fairy tale in picture form. They do tell the whole story, true to form and some even still keep it in “old English”.

Dedicated to Teddy Bears everywhere!

Trawling through Facebook today and it is terrifying me the hatred that is out there. I mean hatred by ALL men and women from all backgrounds not just one in particular. Do these people even realise that they even sound like the very people that they hate?

Anyways I was having a really hard time not giving into the fear and yelling at them all (by writing in cap-locks of course) and telling them how stupid they all are. Then I found this video. It’s time to all hug our teddy’s (press for link to article and video) If you ever feel scared and alone, just hug your favourite teddy (because it might not be a bear…Mine is a plush Lion and now a Olaf)

The author and creator of the film is by Tyler Novo and you can find the entire film including the credits.

Dreams…

Dreams are pretty magical things are they not? Well…sometimes they can be your worst nightmare. You can be in such an amazingly awesome place and then one night you’ll have a horrible dream or nightmare and it affects you for the whole day.

Not every thing Magical in this world is a good kind of Magic. There are bad witches, bad wizards, bad fairies and there are definitely bad dreams…or also known as “Nightmares”. As much as nightmares are truly horrible, they are also an essential part of dreaming. Sometimes (like the one I had last night) they can make you unaware of feelings or situations that you either don’t want to deal with or hadn’t realised that you need to deal with.

If you are like me, my dreams, whether they are good or bad, they tend to be really lucid. A lucid dream is where you can feel, touch and taste everything. It feels SO real that sometimes, in the first couple of minutes after you wake up you still think that it’s happening. I can’t even begin too tell you how many times I have woken up from dreams and they have stayed with me for days after. I even had a dream diary at one stage that I still have and read from time to time…I should really start one again…
