Do you enjoy being out in nature?

Oh, I love it! It’s why I hate Winter (we’re in Winter right now), even with the Sun out, it can sometimes still feel really cold outside. But I want to stay outside and listen to the birds. It’s so lovely, and it’s harder to motivate yourself to go for a walk.

What could you spend all day talking about?

Oh, what couldn’t I talk about!lol. There is so much going on right now…Good, Bad…What, I really love to talk about is my furbabies, and your furbabies…ALL THE FURBABIES!!!

If you were having difficulty on an important test and could safely cheat by looking at someone else’s paper, would you do so?

I actually did do this once, but I freaked out that they were getting the answers wrong I erased the answers that I thought they thought were correct. I never did it again…If I’m going to fail, I’m going to fail myself.

What things in nature do you find most beautiful?

Oh my goodness, there are just so many beautiful things in Nature. I wouldn’t know where to even start to be honest, but I’ll list a few things that just pop into my head:

  • I love watching when oceans and lakes and  rivers, etc, are calm and the wildlife is just doing what they do when they are calm.
  • I love how nature just keeps managing a way to survive against such big odds!
  • I love watching “animal” mothers and how they care for their little one. Sometimes more than us! (I mean how can you not?)
  • Watching the sun rise and watching it set.

Complete this sentence: When I travel I love to….

wander about and watch the neighbourhoods of people go by. If I’m in a hotel, I am definitely like to people watch from my window.

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

I’ve been inspired a lot this week, the weather has been so weird and I’ve been doing a lot of walking this week. One day it’s really hot, then the next it’s humid and raining. So I’ve been walking in the evening when it’s a lot cooler and I’ve just been sitting in the park and it’s been really nice. I wish I could stay there all the time too be honest.

What is the most incredible natural venue that you’ve ever seen in person?

I have been very lucky in my life to have witness some really and incredible natural venues. I think the best though would honestly be at any beach and watching as the sun goes down. I can remember all the times that I have been walking down a beach or just sat down on a beach and just watch the Sunset and the patterns that they make in the sky or across the beach and sea. Below is just a picture that I took just with my camera phone. It feels somehow ethereal.

How many siblings do you have? What’s your birth order?

I only have the one sibling, and he is my younger brother, by about two years. So that makes me the oldest one.

If you were a shoe, what kind would you be and why?

I would definitely have to go with a pair of Mary James. They are a classy and classic type of shoe, while also be functional as they don’t have “too much” of a huge heel. They also just look really sweet, but are very sturdy. While also having a hint of fun too them.

What is the strangest/weirdest thing you have ever eaten?

I would have to be any kind of “offal” type food. My Grandfather was a huge fan of this type of food. Offal food is any type of liver, heart, kidney type food.

What was one of your first moneymaking jobs (other than babysitting or newspaper delivery)?

I was a call centre operator and oh my goodness, I would rather work at a funeral home, then work at a call centre ever again! You have to have a thick skin for that one!

What is your favorite month of the year?

People are always surprised to hear that my favourite month is December and not my birthday month of April. I don’t hate my birthday month, but how often during your birthday do you actually get to do what you want to do? As I get older especially I’ve noticed that I am having to cater to other people on my birthday. We have to go to certain restaurants because people don’t like the selection at the one I like.

What three things in nature do you find most beautiful?

  1. Any baby animal, furry, scaly, feathers…Have you ever seen a baby birds heading bopping…So cute! So vulnerable!
  2. Any beautiful lake or pond. Where my partner lives he lives near this man-made pond and even though it’s man-made. There are so many different birds and it’s really nice waking up to the sound of the birds.
  3. Butterflies, have you ever seen a monarch butterfly? There are so pretty and seem so fragile. I don’t think they live for very long though. Every time I see a butterfly, I stop and look.

List at least five of your favorite spices? (excluding salt and pepper)

I don’t need to write 5, any spice that’s spicy!

Dye to save the animals!

I think that if you are a regular reader of mine you will know that I am such a big support of saving endangered animals, literally any kind, even bees…and they can kill me! I strongly believe that any type of animals belongs to be here safely just as much as we do. I believe that human beings do not “own” the Earth.

There is a Facebook page that relates to the Safari Live web feed that I watch called “Djuma Djunkies” and I came across a post on the Facebook page of “The Amazing Wild Nature” This page has some amazingly inspirational stories about animals and saving them, there was one post in particular that caught my eye.

If you don’t wish to read the article I will break it down here. What they have come up with is this, a particular pink dye that they use on bank notes is now being put onto the husks and tucks of endangered animals, such as rhinoceroses and elephants. This makes the ivory on these animals completely wrecked and unusable, the dye also doesn’t harm the animals in any way. According to some of the comments it doesn’t always mean that the poachers will not shoot them, but I still think that it’s a better idea than none!.
