Well, according to some TERFs, that if you change your name, that means you’ve “cut off” the parental link…I am not even kidding..,

If you actually believe this, you need help.

It starts off with “A name is given with love”.

Which might, in some cases, be true. Although reading through some of the comments, it seems that some parents gave their kids their names…cause…

Myself, as an example, I am named after Lauren Bacall. Which is pretty cool. I do feel like Lauren, but if I didn’t, that has nothing to do with my parents.

*You know* after the last couple of days this seems so not important, however, I will continue.

It has nothing to do with my parents, and my “connection” to them.

One Name…

There’s a really good reason why I don’t listen to anything Trump says anymore, it’s either all:

• Stupid
• Dumb
• Misinformed
• Inflammatory

My partner though, for some reason, even though he doesn’t like Trump either. Will listen to news reports with Trump speaking. It drives me nuts! Mainly because he’ll say something really that makes me VERY annoyed.

My partner recently played a news report where Trump was talking about Covid19, I swear, he said “It has many names…The Virus, the Chinese Virus, Wuhan Virus”…No, it doesn’t have MANY names…It has ONE name…Covid19. It is definitely NOT “The Chinese Virus”. No leader, should be calling Covid19, anything else BUT Covid19 either.

Just like you and I, even Donald Trump, we all have ONE name. We may have nicknames, but we all have one name.

Maybe, he doesn’t know how to pronounce COVID19?

This Week’s Questions:

For the parents in the crowd:  What would be the absolute worst name you might give your child? If you’re not a parent (I’m not), then what’s the worst name you could give your pet?

Oh, there are so many bad names out there! I have seen so many lately, that it’s hard to tell if these parents were serious or not…One women (you might have even heard of her) She named her daughter “Abcde” I am not even kidding. It’s pronounced Ab-see-dee…Which is actually nice, but the way she’s spelt it.

What mildly annoying curse might you wish you could curse annoying people with?

I think that I would probably to give them a cold, just annoying enough, that it is annoying. Not one that makes them completely incapable, just one that bugs them.

What’s the weirdest thing you did as a child?

I got into this really odd habit when I was child, of plucking my eyelashes, pretty much till I had none left. I don’t remember why I started, or even when or why I stopped, but I remember doing it.

Do you believe things happen for a reason or are random?

The best resolution I make is with Goodreads. All the others very rarely happen.

Walk with Lolly

I have an Instagram account … I will probably be going to back to Lady Lolsy by the way…I typed Lady Lolly into Google and there’s another Lady Lolly out there…I think she’s an adult film actress.

Anyways…On my Instagram account I have taken up walking and making stories, while I’m walking on Instagram. I’ve been usually doing them on Friday nights after work, but it all depends on when I’m working. This week I’m not working (so far) on the Friday. However, I find that these stories I do encourage me to go walking anyways. So I will be keeping up with them. If you click on the link above to can follow me. If a distant uncle dies and you were always his favorite and leaves you $50,000 (any currency) in his will, what would you do?

I would probably give a couple of thousand to my Mum, Dad, Brother and partner…I would go somewhere, maybe too Queensland and have a proper holiday. The rest I would put away for a “rainy day”.

What sound or sounds do you love?

• Birds chirping
• Hearing the lazagne packet open
• If I hear music and it fits my mood…I LOVE that!

What’s your middle name?  Why?

I am a weirdo…I have no middle name! My mum does, but my Dad and brother also do not have a middle name…and I am trying to negotiate with my partner that if we have a boy, I can have the name ‘Joseph’ in there somewhere. Can anyone tall me how I can convince him? He has a cousin-in-law with the Joseph and he doesn’t want to repeat.

It’s been an interesting week. I’ve been getting shifts at work again, which have made me happy…My body has been randomly stiffening up and loosening. I’ve been getting together a lot of things that are crafty and are inspiring me to craft again. Yet, I don’t have enough and I have SO many ideas, that it’s stopping me,lol.

If you were given a boat or yacht today, what would you name it?  (You can always sell the yacht later):

I think that honestly the only way I would even have an Yacht/Boat is if I won it, I get really bad sea sick motion. I would definitely be selling it, but if I was able to name it. I might name it something like “The Lady” or the “Duchess Lady”. ‘Something Fancy’.

Which of Snow White’s 7 dwarfs describes you best?  (Doc, Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey) Plus what would the 8th dwarf’s name be? 

I think that I would have to be somewhere between Happy and Dopey. Sometimes me being happy can make me Dopey at times. Sometimes when I’m meet someone for the first time I’m Bashful, but as I’ve gotten older, this happens less and less. As for the name of the 8th Dwarf, I think it would have to be something like: Smartie…I don’t know!

Name a song or two which are included on the soundtrack to your life?

The two that I would have to choose between is:

1. “Happy” by Pharrell Williams.
2. “The Show must Go On”…I know it was done but Queen, but I can really relate to the Moulin Rouge version. I feel like that song when I’m down and…well…The Show Must Go On!

I am Lauren…The Plant!

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Name that… You!.”

I was named after the now dearly departed “Lauren Bacall”…There are a couple of different meanings for my name, but the most well known meaning is “the bay, or laurel plant”.

When I was younger “Lauren” was a really unknown name, but it feels like every second person I meet now is a “Lauren”. In fact there is another Lauren I know and we are studying the same course, we volunteer at the same Library and NOW we are working casually at the same place.

I absolutely feel like a Lauren, although to be honest, most people call me a nickname MORE than my actual name, but all my nicknames are based on my natural name. I also think my name is probably one of the most misspelled names ever, there are just too many variations!
