Repeat, repeat, repeat

Was watching the Fifth Element, and I do forget how funny that first part of the movie is. I enjoy it all, but it’s one of those movies that I always seem to catch the end half on when it’s on tv.

It did get me thinking what movies, tv shows, any kind of show really, can we watch over and over again? When I think about it, I can watch : Golden Girls, Dad’s Army a lot of English shows really – Keeping up Appearances, As Time Goes by, Goodnight sweetheart, Midsomer Murders, The Bill. The French version of Beauty and the Beast.

There are some movies I can watch over and over again, but I have to be in the mood, if that makes sense? Like I can watch Moulin Rouge again and again, but the ‘atmosphere’ has to be perfect.

So excited…

I am seeing, what I believe to be the very last Jurrasic Park for a really long time, movie. At least for the movies. I have LOVED these movies, since the first one came out.

Even though I do believe Pratt by name, Pratt by nature. I love everything else MORE. I’m not missing out on the last possible Jurassic Park movie ever, cause of one Pratt. I can’t wait to see Sam Neil and Laura Dern, I LOVE Laura Dern!

But you know what I love the most? The Dinosaurs…Oh yeah!

Do you all have a favourite dinosaur? I’m always between T-Rex and Brachiosaurus. I was DEVASTATED in the last Jurassic Park, where they had the Brachiosaurus in a haze of smoke, clearly die. I was DEVASTATED. I was like all “You bastards, you left it behind!”. They’re just big cows really, I can’t even watch that bit, and I know dinosaurs are extinct!

Going back to the movies (sort of)

Since more places are starting to open up again, one of the places to head too, are the movies/cinemas

Well, kind of…

A lot of cinemas that are even starting to open, wont open to full seats, and that’s okay. Also not everyone wants to head out straight out away, and that’s okay too.

So what do you do if you’re not ready to head out, or the seats are all already full?

Stay at home!

One of the funniest thing I discovered last year, was how many movies I still have on DVD, but every time a favourite is on the tv, I just have to watch it on the tv, even when I haven’t watched it on DVD for a long time. I just have to watch it when it’s on the tv. True, some of my movies go on for a long time and I like to watch them when I’m by myself.

Movies like, Lord of the Rings, Moulin Rouge…But when it’s on the tv, I can watch it, without getting to involved in it. That’s what I tell myself anyway, and if no one watches it on the tv, it wont come back on!

30 Day writing challenge … Day 14

14. Write about your favourite movies. (in no particular order).

  1. Moulin Rouge – Probably one of my favourite top movies all time. Definitely in the top three. I have always loved musicals, and this has to be one of my favourite musicals. The music, the story, the acting, the costumes (I LOVE the costumes). I know it’s not the best singing of all time, but it still works. No matter how many times I’ve seen it, I always cry at the end. I always hope for the happy ending.
  2. The Red Shoes (Moira Shearer) – I have been obsessed with this movie ever since I was little. In fact, just recently I thought about it and I am really surprised that my mum and dad let me watch it. It’s kind of dark, have any of you watched it? It’s a ballet movie based on the story “The Red Shoes”. It’s a fascinating movie.
  3. Robin Hood – Men in Tights – If I ever need a really good laugh, then this is the movie to watch for me. Now, I can watch it and comment on it whenever I want. I had a friend who hated it beacause Mel Brook insulted Michael Jackson.
  4. The Mummy 1 & 2 – I don’t like number 3 and I haven’t seen the one with Tom Cruise in it. It’s just a good movie to sit down and watch. Those two have got a little bit of everything that I like. Ancient Egypt, comedy and curses.
  5. LotR & The Hobbit – I just love how I feel like I’m taken away into a world of magic. I always felt that Middle Earth was more grown up and was more mythical than Hogwarts.

I Love the Movies!

Would Watch!

First Wives Club’s Stars Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton and Bette Midler Reuniting for a New Comedy

I still love heading to the cinemas, do you as well? I still love going to see a good movie in the cinemas. That big screen, bringing a lot of fantasy to life. Especially for those who are not rich enough to have a cinema in their own home.

My partner and I only see certain movies in the cinemas these days. The cinema close by also have a fancy section “Gold Class” when you can get wines and meals, instead of just your popcorn and soda pop.

I just love going to it, but as I mentioned above, we are selective about which movies we’ll see in the cinemas. We’re probably going to end up seeing Mulan in Gold Class and get a fancy meal. The big screen just make the movie come even more alive. I just love it.

QUESTIONS:

What’s wrong but sounds right?

I have honestly been having a hard time answering this one. I keep trying to think of putting two things that I enjoy, but too others is gross. I just can’t think of anything really good.

What physical action or gesture do you find romantic?

It depends on the person. My current partner, I love it when he gives me cuddles, just because. Mainly because he’s not really an emotional person. A few months ago I realised in the middle of the night that I was about have a anxiety attack, so I did what I’d do to calm myself and I woke up. He woke up too and asked me what was wrong, I couldn’t speak, so he just hugged me and it made feel so much better.

What’s something you really resent paying for?

I haven’t 100% yet resented for paying for something…Yet. There is something I bought recently that has me worried, mainly because it’s not here yet. I bought a preorder figurine in August last year, and at first the date for release kept changing. They have recently contacted me (after ignoring my last two messages) saying that they’ve been sent, so it should be here by the end of February. So we’ll see…It’s a figurine I really want too. I do buy some clothes online.

What’s your favorite romance movie?  A movie you may find romantic, even if that’s not the genre.  I’ve been watching a lot of those lately, loosely titled “romance movie” and found a surprising number of dramas, action and comedy among the hearts and flowers.

I am so weird! My favourite “romance” movies are usually the dark type. Someone dies, someone doesn’t get the girl, but they kind of do…But the other guy never really has the girl “heart”…metaphorically.  They are usually musicals as well. I have never really gotten into “romance” films. I find them kind of predictable and sort of boring.

And of course we have our gratitude of the week question:

I am grateful that my puppy is still here with us. I don’t think she’ll ever be 100% again. She has pooped, after a few days of not popping. She ate today after not eating for two days. Still walks in circle. In all honesty, I think my Gran, who we asked to look after her, is stressing her out. Mainly because her mind seems to be going as well. It’s been stressful to leave my dog, when she leaves all the doors closed, so my dog can’t bathroom anywhere else but the rugs. I thought it was interesting that when my Mum offered to take my Gran out for lunch, so she didn’t go stir crazy being inside our house all day. That’s what my dog started to eat again.

My dog helped me when I had my first huge anxiety attack. We went walking together, so I didn’t become all agoraphobic.

Put Up or Shut Up!

Oh god, I am SO over entitled angry nerds!

For some reason, my partner decided to watch this guy who was rambling on about how the next Star Wars film had better make over $800 million and that the fans have warned them…Blah, blah, blah. Warned them…What?

Whatcha gonna do? Kill them? People are going to go and see these movies. They may not be as popular as the 70’s but you know what? So they shouldn’t be either! I think film makers are getting lazy these days.

But it just makes me angry that these angry nerds, do threats like that. Do they not even know how entitled they sound? I get not liking stuff, I don’t even really any of the newer Star Wars, but I wouldn’t go around saying “I’ve warned you”. If you think you can do better, than GO AND DO IT! Instead of whining from behind a screen, go and make a screen! … So to speak.

I literally had to ask my partner to turn it off, it sounded so whiny!

The world is starting to and definitely feels like it’s falling apart all around us and they are threatening film makers, because they wont go and do it themselves? At one point he was mad because he felt the last Directors (of course mainly angry at the female Directors *rolls eyes*) Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy wont apologise…

…For what, exactly?

Just because you choose not like something, does not mean, angry little nerds, that you are then owed an apology? I certainly didn’t expect after the disaster that was Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith…I mean they made “Darth Vader” probably the most well known villain in movie History, a whiny teenager -.- Now THAT was a disaster!

Did I send hate though? No? Was I still able to tell people I didn’t like it? Yes…Did I still go to the other films…Yes =D

So too all those angry nerds…Make this the year or either put up…or it’s time to shut up!

When the movies is worse than the Book

I have not posted “The Nerd Life” post in such a long time, and I cannot deny that it feels good!

I don’t know how many of you follow me on Instagram (find me here:Lady Lolsy) If you do you would have seen my story when I was the XMEN movie and how they nearly ruined one of “my girls” Rogue with that stupid movie! I have basically never watched another one of the movies since. The only ones I have watched were the Wolverine ones and I didn’t even see the second to last one. I only saw the last one because my partner dragged me along. I got so bored during it.

Anyways, I’m digressing…again…

The movies really ruined the books for me, but not the tv series or the comics. It got me thinking. Have any of you ever had a movie or book ruin the movie or book for you?

SATC

I was watching Willie Garson (Stanley) from Sex and the City, being interviewed and they asked him about the the SATC 3…Apparently they were only a few weeks from shooting…

BUT…

Can I just say that I don’t actually mind there not being a 3rd movie…The first two were horrible! I mean the last once Carrie cheats on Big with Aidan and Big gives her a ring and everythings forgiven? That was it…No, talking about it…Carrie has a history of cheating, let’s not forget!

Anyways

I have absolutely no problem with no more movies…I like to pretend it finished at the ending of the series.
