What is the most powerful word?

I was inspired to write about this post after dealing with, I am pretty sure right winger on Linkedin. They were replying to a UN post about hate speech being inflammatory and can start problems.

“What is hate speech”. This “person” kept saying just because someone says that they “hate” someone, doesn’t mean they want physically harm too them. They did a lot of writing, without actually saying much, other than it was obvious they had no problem with hate speech. So I told them that, lol.

Oh boy, lol

Then there was a whole heap of insulting towards me and just like “they have valid points”. Which one, no they didn’t. If you don’t, as an adult, don’t know what hate speech is. You either ARE stupid, which is something I was accused of calling someone. Or you need to go back to school. Anyways, I did end up saying something and reminding them that it’s LinkedIn, not Twitter or Quora.

They were acting stupid, but I didn’t say the word “stupid”. Which was funny too me. Mainly because of what I wrote above, and what they wrote too. Even if I called someone stupid, doesn’t mean I want to harm them. So when they accuse me of calling them stupid, go for it, still not hate speech according to them, lol.

Also, it’s funny how they can all mind read each other. Maybe that’s why they think everyone else can do it too? If you say “I hate this group” that group has no idea that you don’t mean them harm. On top of which, I asked them to provide me with examples of Trump, Rowling, Putin and Hitler saying they hate the people we all know they do. They couldn’t, of course.

Hate Speech is simply this:

This is what the UN posted on LinkedIn

I guess the biggest irony is, of course and always that in the entirety of what they were writing. Every single person who “had a go” at me. Was being indifferent and were writing ignorantly of what hate speech is. They all know what hate speech is.

I would love to hear though, what you think is or are the most powerful words?

The thing that “scared” me the most about that conversation, were the supposed careers of the people I was having a conversation with. One was a language mentor, one was a prevention crime analyst and called themselves a “Peace Officer” The one who “asked” the UN “what is hate speech” is a Security & Defence Consultant, Analyst, Middle East and Africa.

“Mentors”

Do you have one? Did you have one? Are you one?

(Actually if you are a Mentor, I hope I don’t offend with this post!)

I’ve been thinking a lot lately with people going around saying Trumps their Mentor, the Obama’s, Shaun King. I used to have a mentor, my Gran. I still love her to bits and I always love her advice and she’s always pretty spot on. So I was a bit “disillusioned” when the guy that was a friend of her for years, just decided he didn’t want to be her friend anymore…She’s been obsessed ever since.

I got it to begin with, but we are now going into years. He’s nearly died (I think at least twice) and he never reached out to her, but she just conveniently bumped into him, and she knows that he’s nearly died and she didn’t hear it from his twin brother, who she still is friends is, but he’s nice. When we talk to her, she somehow always manages to bring him up.

What I am saying is “be careful” No human being is perfect, not even the Obama’s…Though they are pretty damn close! But no human being is perfect. Always be careful, be your own Mentor and be the best that you can be!

Mentor

43. A great Mentor or Teacher

I instantly knew who I was going to write about when I saw this one.

If you read my “Share Your World” post this week, you probably noticed that I wrote about my difficulties in High School and how it was difficult for me as I had learning difficulties i.e. Dyslexia, but none of the teachers recognised this…Except for one.

My Classical Studies teachers noticed that I had really good ideas, but it was my sentence and grammar structure that just seemed a little off to him. So instead of just ignoring that what we did was every time I had a huge project or written assessment come up. He would take the time to sit down with me for about an hour. We would go through what I had written so far and he would help me to correct any mistakes I made. It was the only class where I ended up with B’s AND A’s and no C’s.

Since he helped me I have had this love for anything ancient, so Ancient Rome, Egypt, Greek etc. I think he has a lot to do with that. It made me feel smart and made me feel like I wanted to be there and learn even more.

Share Your World … Week 4

Share Your World – 2016 Week 4

What one thing are you really glad you did yesterday?

I am so grateful that I got through a hurried day of work yesterday, with my leg hurting and I made it through the day without completely falling apart.

Are you generally focused on today or tomorrow?

This is a good question, it honestly depends. If I have something stressful on ‘tomorrow’ and nothing stressful ‘today’ then I would probably focus on tomorrow. I think that I’m always thinking a little about tomorrow things like “What have I got on tomorrow” “What do I need to organise today for tomorrow” … Things like that.

Would you want to have as a guardian angel/mentor? What would they tell you right now?

I think that I already do, my Great Grandparents, they passed years ago. Sometimes I do think “Would doing this make them proud of me?”. I’m not sure what they would tell me honestly, there are a few frustrations in my life, but nothing that anyone can do anything about (getting me a job).

Would you rather live in a cave house or a dome house made out of glass? (photos of the houses found on google search)

The Cave Houses look absolutely amazing! I would rather live in one of those. They look so magical and ethereal.
