Anzac Day

ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces became known as ANZACs. Anzac Day is a commemoration of the anniversary of the landing of Australian and New Zealand troops at Gallipoli, Turkey on 25 April in 1915. Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders “who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations” and “the contribution and suffering of all those who have served”

Thursday Theories – Multi tasking

Which do you think is better for you brain? Too multi-task or not too multi task.

I’m not going to answer outright, I’m going to write this out. Please while you read this, stay in the moment and read this post. Do not do anything else, just read.

I was watching television program on the ABC the other day called “Our Brain”. It was absolutely fascinating.

I wanted to write about one specific thing that I found really interesting from the documentary. Multi tasking.

When I listened to it, it made a lot of sense.

The term multi tasking was from computers. Now clearly, our brains are not computers. As humans, therefore we are not actually multi tasking. What we are actually doing is called swish tasking. We’re not focusing on one task, we’re going back and forth between tasks. Which ultimately, stresses our brain out.

There is a huge difference between focusing and swishing around.

Like it says in the documentary “Multi tasking doesn’t exist”.

Playlist of my Heart <3

So I heard one song this week and all these memories came flooding back. Then I don’t know if you know, but then on the side of YouTube playlists, all the songs that relate to that song were on there too.

So I’ve posted a few songs/videos that even now it brings back memories and feelings and maybe you’ll feel something too ❤

Nickelback – Far Away (They were my always go to group mid to late 00’s)…I was in a long distance relationship ❤ We are still friends ❤

Hinder – Better Than Me (Although hoping they weren’t doing crack. I always hoped that at least one of my ex’s felt like this…I doubt it,lol…But I had always hoped, lol)

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus – Your Guardian Angel

Michelle Branch – Goodbye to you – This one used to kill me. It was my LDR had finally broken up and I was being hated on by these two girls … and the boys liked them better than me…This song killed me because I knew it was true. I’ve played it with every single break up, including some old friends from a few years ago. When I knew in my heart the friendships were over…NOT…I repeat … NOT the “mean girls”.

Dixie Chicks – Not Ready to Make Nice…Oh my goodness…This song = an awesome … F^ck Yeah! and F^ck of Haters!

Jewel – Hands – Mainly, my hands are tiny…Seriously small, lol…But I also love the message behind, about no matter how small your hands are…Reach out.

Evanescence – My Immortal … I mean, if you didn’t like the song and this band…Were you truly into 90’s music?

Kelly Clarkson – Because of You

Hilary Duff – Come Clean…For the longest time I didn’t realise this song was a opening credit for a very popular 00’s show! I just loved it.

Kelly Clarkson – Breakaway … This was just me…and a good song to end on…Still have this song on my iPod,lol

QUESTIONS:

If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?  If you don’t think Heaven nor God exists, you might want answer by saying something outrageous, just for fun!

“You did good kid, you did good” If God calls me a pig though, I will slap him,lol

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?

Is it too mean to say being in Trumps “circle”,lol

What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?

I’m usually thinking what I’m doing in the car. By that, I mean depending on where I’m going I’ll be thinking things like “Do I need to pop in anywhere else on the way.” “Did I hear about roadworks, or crashes I need to be aware of?” or on the way back, it might be more “Well that day was long”. Other than that, I usually just listen to the radio or some music.

How would you rate your memory?

At the moment it’s not fantastic. However I did find out recently that I have extremely low Vitamin D, which can make you feel fatigued, which is what I’ve been feeling like recently. I am sure that feeling sleepy, not much goes into the brain. So hopefully with the medicine I’ve received, that will improve my memory as well as my Vit D levels!

And lastly:

What’s one song that always cheers you up, no matter how blue you’re feeling?

It honestly feels like a cliche to say this song, and I can’t even remember what I used to listen too before to cheer me up. I think it was either a Beatles (here comes the sun, pops into my mind) or Monkees song (probably daydream believer).

QUESTIONS:

  • Are you thin or thick skinned?   Are you easily offended or tend to let it just roll off your back like a duck does with water?  I used to get really upset and hold it in and became offended easily. Now, not so much. I can’t really afford to do that anymore. I’ve learnt whose there for me and that’s the important thing. I got called a Charlie today, lol…Meaning I’m like a Jack Russell, I seem all cute, little and sweet, but when something makes me mad…I go. Charlie because that’s what they think most Jack Russell’s are called, lol. I can accept that, lol

  • How important are morals in a healthy society? What are the most important morals for citizens to have?  (Credit to Rory for this question) There are a few (I think):

Honesty

Respect and Dignity for others.

Empathy

  • What will your epitaph be? It’d have to be “I’ll be fine”. I have said that my whole life. Even when I’m not, I say I’ll be fine, because generally, I am. I am still here and I am “fine”. Everything will work out fine.
  • (I don’t admire either/or questions much, which is why you won’t see ‘em often.  Today is an exception)  French toast, pancakes or waffles? Can I have all three at once? =D If I had to choose though:

  • What were you grateful for this past week? Getting more work shifts! It’s been horrible, every day up until my shifts. Every time I signed into my work email, someone else wasn’t going to be there. Which I am honestly surprised by, because usually at this busy time of the year, people can’t have a whole week off. If I wasn’t making good money from this, I’d be so annoyed. But I am really struggling to keep my finances in order. At the moment I feel like I maybe the only one at work and that’s not good, lol. So if I’ve seemed quieter this week, it’s because I am over tired.

Share Your World … March 19, 2018

What is your earliest memory?

I have a weird memory, in that if I see something I will remember it. Everything, feelings, smells etc. Sometimes a smell or feeling also make me remember. There’s a local library here, for example, when I walk in it reminds me of my Grandmother. Who is very much still alive, but it reminds me of her. I do remember though an nightmare I had YEARS ago. It’s weird when I think about it, I remember exactly what happened and how terrified I was and how I could never watch Mr Squiggle the same again!

Which way does the toilet paper roll go? Over or under?

Over…I think…I’m pretty sure I prefer over.

What makes you feel grounded?

It depends on what is going on with me, sometimes listening to music, playing with my dog helps. Other times it might be just having something funny to listen too on in the background, get my head together.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

I’ve been having a rough this week, but just knowing that I am actually alright, helps…It’s just my anxiety playing up and I was doing so well, but then I got a call saying my cholesterol is a little high. So even the most smallest of things has been making me smile, because I am trying to worry less…Seriously I felt I was doing better until Wednesday -.- I really really…REALLY wish I had never gotten that call….SO just getting up and going to work to distract myself has made me happier.

Memories…All alone with my memory

29. Your favourite memory

Wow! This was so hard to break this down to one, I have a lot of “favourite time” memories. From significant things to when I got some great retail therapy deals!

Which then got me thinking and then I started feeling grateful, just because I have so many favourite memories  and that is definitely something to be grateful for. I feel like I have a lot more favourite memories than unhappy ones, I have been very lucky. That is something bee extremely grateful for. The good outweighs the bad.

The good and bad memories both remind me of how far I have and remind me of how I overcome things in the past and who overcome them with me. Even the bad ones have ended up good!

A good cleanout

So…I’ve been living in the house I am living in now for about 10 years so and the house before this one was larger. Meaning that we now have a LOT of boxes that have not been opened for a long time.

One of mine and my Mother’s goals this year is too clear out these boxes and see what we can get rid of. Now my Mum is always saying that they’re just my boxes and so I offered to start going through and after pulling out 4…That’s 4…of her boxes (I don’t know why she keeps telling everyone they are mine, when they are in her cardboard to even begin with) I finally managed to find my one…There’s possibly another one in there, but they are pretty much all hers.

Anyways, getting past that annoyance…It wasn’t easy to get to them either can I just tell you, because she’s put them all in her walk-in wardrobe, which has stuff on top of other stuff.

The first box that I pulled was full…just of full…of these books that I used to read all the time when I was teenager and some of my favourites that I haven’t read in year. The box also included a very random VHS tape of The Lord of the Rings. I took a few photos, just to show the collection…Oh, the memories they bring back…Especially the classic Judy Blume 3 in 1 books.

Share Your World … Week 50

Can you believe that we are up too Week 50?! Only two more weeks left of the whole year!

What is your favorite smell? What memory does it remind you of?

I have a few different ones that I love, especially when they “match” with a particular season. For example, I love the smell of freshly mowed grass when it’s Spring and I love the smell of rain coming during Summer, because you know there’ll be a thunderstorm coming. I love the smell of a beach during Summer and I love the smell of cocoa during Winter. Personally as well I love the smell of men’s aftershave, it just does things to me. Sometimes I’ll follow my partner around the house because I love how he smells when he puts it on,lol

What type of pet do you have or want to have?

I already have a dog, a chihuahua to be more specific. There are so many animals that I would love to have as a pet though, but it’s just wrong. Like your Lions, Wolves and Owls. Animals like that should never ever be pets.

Are you usually late, early, or right on time?

I will always try to get somewhere at least 10 minutes early. It might have been the way I was brought up, but it just seems more respectful. Even being “on time” can put you into a rush. It’s amazing how much you can do and how much you can sit and take deep breaths when you give yourselves 10 minutes. For example, I try to get to job interviews 10 minutes early, so I can do things like pop into the toilets and refresh myself. I have a friend that whenever we get to together socially, she is always late. It drives me nuts! She’s never late for work, so why not show the same respect? Sometimes we can’t get table until she’s there and we can’t order until she’s there. One of our friends has actually started lying to her about the time to make sure she get’s there reasonably on time…And she still manages to be at least a few minutes late each time.

For recharging, would you rather meditate, swim, walk, listen to music, write, read, yoga, qigong other?

There’s usually two things I do to recharge. I either read or I play a computer game that I enjoy and doesn’t make me “rage”. At the moment the two games that I use to recharge are “The Sims” and “Guild Ward 2”. Both these games relax me because they’re not too complicated for me and I usually end up playing them for a while, without even realising how much time as passed.
