Miss Abigail – 10:10 Daily Challenges:

Miss Abigail has a section on things to do over 10 consecutive days and I have decided that I am going to take this challenge up! I’m hoping that once I’ve done it for a few days, I will keep doing.

The suggestions that Miss Abigail has came up with are listed below, but feel free to choose your own! Make it something that you actually want to do as well. I am going to record in my journals the times that I do whatever it is I choose to do. Some of the suggestions (by Miss Abigail) are listed below:

  • Meditate
  • Exercise (yoga, run, cycle, stretch etc)
  • Housework (tidy up, clean your bathroom, wipe down your surfaces, hoover one room, dust one area)
  • Declutter (by area, by category)
  • Self-care (skin care, hair care, mindfulness)
  • Write (write a novel, journal, bullet journal)
  • Read (non-fiction, fiction, school books, blogs etc)

It’s been a long week, so I am taking up this challenge!

This month’s 10:10 challenge I am taking up is Meditating. I have really been slacking on this and I really NEED to start doing it again.

What about yourselves? Is there a 10 challenge that you want to do?!

My Mantra

I have been hearing a lot lately about Mantra’s and I have not only been wanting to figure out what they are, but what are they meant for?

How to create your own personal mantra – Oprah

A Personal Mantra is a sound or a group of words that are personal to yourself and yourself alone. You repeat them to yourself…They can be syllables, a sound.

Spiritual Mantra’s are a sacred utterance, a sound, a syllable, word or phonemes, or group of words in Sanskrit believed by practitioners to have psychological and spiritual powers. A Mantra may not have a syntactic structure or literal meaning.

Mantra – Wikipedia

The most well known Mantra is “OM”

OM

Om is said to be the first sound heard at the creation of the universe. When each syllable is pronounced fully, you should feel the energy of the sound lifting from your pelvic floor all the way up through the crown of your head. The droning sound of the Om is said to unblock the throat chakra, which can lead to more attuned communication with others.

Why am I writing all this?

I want to find my OWN personal mantra…The best way I’ve discovered that most people do this is too:

  • Write in a journal for 30 minutes, write in the mornings as your mind is usually clearer at this time.
  • Rewrite what you have to written, put more a pertinent focus on what you’ve written.
  • Write a focused, declarative statement.
  • 10 minutes a day…Say this statement. You can do it walking, you can do it eating…

World Peace Card Meditations

You are invited to take part in the next World Peace Card Meditation. Please mark your calendar and forward this email to all your friends.

The next World Peace Card group meditations have been scheduled for Wednesday, January 18 at 7:30pm. This is local time in your time zone. This method has been chosen because of the special effect it produces. As people meditate in each successive time zone the energy builds like a wave which gets stronger and stronger as it circles the planet. Because of the higher dimensional nature of consciousness, the energy of peace will be transmitted for a full 24 hours and continue long after this.

Note: This is a larger file and it may take several
minutes for it to open, so please be patient.

Please set aside this time to meditate with the cards. The suggested meditation period is 15 minutes, but of course you can meditate longer if you’d like to. The technique I’d like you to use is based on allowing yourself to be a beacon of peace. The World Peace Cards hold the vibration of the World Peace Grids which have been placed at spiritually significant locations and are relay stations for higher consciousness. By simply opening to their energy, you’ll become a channel for their love and peace which will flow through you to all the people on Earth. To do this, hold the cards in your hands or place them in front of you. Then simply meditate on peace. We are entering a new era. Our entire planet including all the people and living things are moving into a place where it will be much easier to solve our problems and to create peace, prosperity and happiness for everyone.

Cleaning Spritz!

I am a weird human being, I actually enjoy cleaning…Okay, I enjoy cleaning up my stuff and the mess I made. When I go to somebody else’s house though I will help clean up, but I don’t enjoy it…Cleaning up my own room, my own house, my partners house…I really get a kick out of it.

We are heading into Winter, here Down Under. So not only is cleaning kind of a meditation for me, but it’s a good work out as well and keeps me nice and warm. I have also been trying to get rid of things and stuff, it’s been going on for about two years now and I am still going. Sure, it’s like one bag every three months or so, but I have a lot of stuff!

So readers, do you enjoy cleaning, what is your advice for Winter cleaning?

How hard is it being a wife and mom?

I love Jada Pinkett Smith, I think she is such a powerful and unique individual and I have a lot of “mummy friends” and one of them posted them this video. Although I do not have children myself this is how I imagined being a mother would be like. The challenges, constantly trying to find the balance but also the rewards that come with being a mother.

The Single Woman Blog

When I was single I was use to follow a Blog called “The Single Woman (America)” … I used to get all her email notification, blog updates. Mandy Hale is a awesome inspiration for people who are struggling at being single. I actually do still follow her Blog as I think that some of the ideas she has can be used for every day life (and is good for single men too!).

For example her new “challenge” for the New Year is: “A Beautifully Uncertain 31-Day Challenge: Week One” Where every day you do something else, cleaning things out, finding 10 minutes one day for mediation. What I love about what she is doing, is it is really easy and you can get most of it day within the one day. I am doing this and I am not even Single!

I always feel like in the first month of the New Year, that’s when you have to start making your Resolutions/Goals happen, even if it’s something that takes 10-20 minutes of the day. Once you get into a routine you will find it harder and harder to get out of it! So for every Thursday of January I will post up the links to Mandy Hales 31 Day, Weekly Challenges. Do it, you wont be disappointed!

Share Your World…Week 29

Share Your World – 2015 Week #29

Share Your World

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a ballet dancer when I was little, I still love to dance, but I love Latin dancing more than Ballet these days. I think it was more about being on stage and getting to dress up.

What was your favorite food as a child? Do you eat it now?

I was always a weird one, I actually used to really enjoy my vegetables and I LOVED my banana’s. I swear that I eat worse now than when I was a kid.

If you were invisible, where would you go?

I think honestly I would go to the beach and just there for a bit and just enjoy the view (apart from the fact that it’s the middle of Winter here right now) Sounds like a great plan!

Would you rather forget everyone else’s name all the time or have have everyone for your name all the time?

I would rather have other people forget my name all the time, I would be horrified to forget other peoples name! I AM horrified when I forget people’s names, lol

Resolutions

It is no secret fact that the end of a year, any year, it makes people reflect and look back at the year and decide what they wish to improve on for the new year coming.

Last year what I did was instead of making resolutions for the year coming, I made a list of what I was going to leave behind in the past year. I actually found this was really a lot better than making promises into the future. Mainly because we don’t know what the future holds for us. So instead of promising myself that I would “lose weight” I worked on writing less emo-type posts.

I found that by making promises to myself of what I’m leaving behind, I could concentrate on that. I could work on myself and then I was able to work on things that were thrown at me in my future, things that I didn’t see coming. I have to say that personally it did work for me, so I shall be doing that again. Instead of starting new problems, I decided to work on old issues of mine so that I could leave them behind.

Here are a couple of things that I will be leaving behind in 2015:

  1. Less talking about my ex’s, so I can concentrate on my new partner
  2. Being unproductive and be more proactive on finding a job IN a Library, rather than just having a job.
  3. MORE motivation for meditation!

What are your “tricks” for the New Year? Do you make resolutions, or do you do something else instead, make a goal for the new year?
