Now I wont be giving too much away, because I don’t want to spoil anything and I really did enjoy the movie. So there isn’t really too much to complain about. When I got back from the movie, I saw some article about there was lash back against “Hakuna Matata”? But I literally don’t know what the problem was.
I think the first thing for people to recognise with any of these live action films. They are not cartoons. There are only so much expression that one can give on a live action film, especially with animals. i think once you can recognise that, you’ll be fine. Other than that…
I absolutely loved it! Cartoon less and everything.
There was genuinely one part I did not enjoy and that was because I felt that they had messed up a really pivotal song, and that should have stayed exactly as it is. I was trying to get to into the different version of it, but I couldn’t. You know how some songs make the scene?
Other than that I genuinely loved it all. I know there’s been a few complaints about the non-expressions, but I didn’t have a problem with them. For some reason I always cry at the beginning, in all the cartoon, live action and (lucky me) the musical as well. Do any of you? I don’t understand it.
I totally understand why they chose Chiwetel Ejiofor to play Scar, but I really did want Jeremy Irons to play Scar. But Chiwetel does always play a fantastic bad guy. I really wanted James and Jeremy together again.
I had a pretty bad this week, feeling pretty down, letting things get to me that I am always having to have keep under control, just to survive. Especially when I was doing so well, had one bad time and now I’m feeling fed up and frustrated, which is making me feel like I’ve taken a step backwards.
However something that completely made my weekend and made my brain not able to handle the awesomeness.
Not only did I find out that they are making a live action Lion King…Yes! You heard me right, they are making a live action Lion King…Which I’d assume would be more of a CGI thing, rather than getting actual Lions etc to act. The even better news though:
In case you hadn’t been able to guess, I am a bit obsessed with “The Lion King”. Which is a little funny because I have real trouble even watching the film, it make me cry every single time Mufasa dies…I just cannot even!lol
I had a whole post ready to go about how I was already having withdrawal shakes from missing the Safari drives, but I don’t have to anymore! I don’t know how much more magical this Monday could be to know this amazing unique opportunity is still going!
This week in countries that are in the care of Queen Elizabeth the Second are celebrating the Queens birthday, so this week you may find a certain “theme”…Can you guess what it might be?
Since this week will be full of Queen Blogs, I thought that I would write about some Disney Queens. Also since Queen Elizabeth is a nice Queen and not a nasty one, I decided to Blog about some of the nicer Queens of Disney. Which as you can imagine and if you know your Disney, the “nice” Disney Queens that do feature at all, are not well known. Mainly because they either die right at the beginning or somehow the main character is separated from their mother and father at the beginning.
One of my personal most favourite Queens in Disney. Mother of Simba and Wife of Mufusa, Sarabi is probably one of the most morally strongest, most dignified and has one of the strongest ‘backs’ in Disney and she does it all while walking on four paws! A dedicated mother, wife and Queen who, when her Kingdom is under threat from the tyranny of Scar, she does not falter! It was finally seeing his Mother getting hurt by Scar that kicked Simba into action!
Queen Athena was the wife of King Triton and the mother of Ariel (and her six older sisters). She was the Queen of Atlantica, and beloved by everyone. She was most well-known for her singing talent and her love of music. Unfortunately, she died as a result of a run in with a big pirate ship when Ariel was very young. A statue of her dancing with Triton is a present in his courtyard. Queen Athena mostly physically resembles closely to her daughter, Ariel
THE QUEEN (AND KING) OF ARENDELLE
The Queen of Arendelle is from the new Disney film “Frozen” and is the mother to Elsa and Anna, who tragically died at the beginning of the film. The Queen (and King) of Arendelle spent most of their life and royal duties ‘protecting’ their eldest daughter and heir to the throne, Elsa, from being discovered as having magical powers.
Now the main reason that I am talking about the Queen and King of Arendelle is because of the eerie connections that have been discovered throughout a lot of the Disney films, which are described in the pictures below…It’s quite fascinating!
So here we are with my second Magical Monday…Even if no one else enjoys these, I have been!lol…It’s been great looking at all these different characters that I have fallen in love with over the years.
My next choice is probably putting together a bunch of species of characters together…The Lion!
I’m not talking about in the biblical sense, but two of my most favourite characters of my entire life are Mufasa (The Lion King) and Aslan (Narnia). I love Lions, I love their sense of their pride and how they take care of one another (except when new male lions takeover of course). I have seen so many video’s lately of these big and powerful beasts playing gently with the likes of humans.
The death of both Mufasa and Aslan (or near death) still after nearly 30 years can make me cry! I love the strength that both these characters have in taking care of their respective families. I could never ever choose between the two, I always wanted Alsan to come and take me away and I always wanted Mufasa to be my Dad!…(I really do love you still Dad though ~.^). In fact I have got the Lion King on DVD but I have never watched it because I know I’ll cry, lol.
Mufasa comes from the movie “The Lion King” which was released in 1994 (exactly 20 years ago) and produced by Walt Disney Studios. Mufasa is introduced at the beginning of the film as the King of a kingdom called “Pride Rock”. The movie is mainly based around Mufasa’s cub “Simba” and what happens to him after Mufasa is ‘murdered’ by Simba’s Uncle Scar.
Mufasa voiced by – James Earl Jones.
Aslan is one of the main characters of the series “The Chronicles of Narnia”, he is the only character to show up in every single one of the seven books. It is fairly well-known that Aslan is based on the Christian idol ‘Jesus’. Aslan is a talking Lion of the mystical land ‘Narnia’ and is a leader and has many followers including: humans, mermaids, centaurs, Dwarfs…Just to name a couple! As gentle as he may seem, Aslan is never referred to as a ‘tamed lion’ because he can be as dangerous and extremely powerful. A lot of people believe that “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” is the first book in the series, this is not true. Although the author, C.S. Lewis wrote “The Magicians Nephew” sixth, it is actually a prequel to the “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” and explains how Narnia was created.
