Well, you don’t HAVE to read…I wont tell. So you can have a Tolkien movie marathon! I’ve wanted to do that for a long time. It’s not reading, but it is Tolkien related!

World Rhino and Hobbit Day

Can you imagine having two most wonderful things on the same day?

First we have World Rhino Day

rhino are unicrons

Over three short decades, we’ve lost all but a few black rhinos. In 1993, less than 400 rhinos remained in Kenya. The overwhelming mission to save rhinoceros began. The Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a 90,000-acre sanctuary was chosen to house 20 black rhinos, a population that has since grown to 120 with  ongoing support. Now, as East Africa’s largest population of black rhinos, playing a huge role in rhinoceros conservation.

Then we also have “Hobbit Day”

Tolkien Reading Day

Why 25 March?

The 25th of March is the date of the downfall of the Lord of the Rings (Sauron) and the fall of Barad-dûr. It has been organised by the Tolkien Society since 2003 to encourage fans to celebrate and promote the life and works of J.R.R. Tolkien by reading favourite passages

darkness must pass

Regarding a lot of my posts lately, I have been feeling like I want to add more, but the quote sums it up perfectly.

Happy Birthday JRR Tolkien

I have to say I wish that JRR Tolkien was alive today…and not in a terrifying Zombie, completely full-formed.

Fans WorldWide toast JRR Tolkien twelfty seventh birthday

I love what JRR Tolkien honoured us with and sharing with us, his beautiful magical world. Do we deserve this beautiful world? Probably not, but he shared it with us anyway.

I am not really a Potterhead and I really only love Aslan in Narnia. I like both those series, but there is something just that little bit more to Tolkien’s world for me, personally.

World Rhino Day AND Hobbit Day…What a Treat!

Today is important for two reasons:

Art is found from within

I was really struggling to find something this week for my “Magical Monday” posting. I always love to make a post on Magical Monday, mainly because I do hope that it cheers people up on Monday mornings.

So after liking 10 pictures on this particular page, I decided to share this page with you all as well! It’s a Facebook page called “Middle Earth’s Art” The drawings on there are amazing! They are beautiful and well drawn. They like to post a picture with an appropriate quote. If I could like every single picture on this page without making everyone on my friends list driven crazy, I probably would like every single one when they are posted.

I believe that these are drawings that JRR Tolkien would proud of himself. If you are stuck on a drawing or are having writers block on a fantasy script, I would strongly recommend looking at these pictures and prepare to be inspired!

(They also have a Twitter…It’s the same pictures being posted on Facebook, but on Twitter…https://www.facebook.com/MiddleArtPage?fref=nf )
