Good Cheer

Start the fire place, except if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere, but on that jumper…except if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere. Crack open the bubbly, except if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere…then it’s … beer …

I don’t drink beer, by the way, lol

Everywhere, it’s time to start playing your Christmas tunes…Yes, even we here in the Southern Hemisphere, we still have “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas”.

When I’m putting up my tree, we always have at least one cd playing, that I bought from my teen years!

Hanson “Snowed In”.

A “new” cd that I have now. Well I call it “new”, but we always played it when we were younger and were putting up the Christmas Tree at my Pa’s and Gran’s house. Every year, since we’ve stopped doing that, I always sing or hum it around Christmas anyway. About two years ago, I decided to actually buy the cd.

Boney M Christmas.

Now I LOOOOOVE watching all classic South Park Christmas episodes, but I have one song in particular that I just adore.

Taurus Satoshi

You all didn’t have to agree so eagerly that I’ve been grumpy by the way! Hahahaha … Totally kidding!

The Christmas Spirit

I read the saddest thing and the sweetest thing. A mother asking how she can help her children celebrate Christmas, when it’s going to be so small this year…and the suggestions! The #ChristmasSpirit is alive and well!

I have written up all my international Christmas cards/letters. Sent them off. So some people on here, watch out for those! I’m hoping those will get there before Christmas, lol.

Do any of you have any plans on doing something different for Christmas this year? I am donating a lot more things to charities, mainly for the kids. I’ve putting thing and money aside specifically this year to do it. Normally I just get bits and pieces for my own Christmas. I put money into tins, but this year, I went “No! Children need more joy than they’ve ever needed before!”

QUESTIONS:

Pancakes, waffles or French Toast as your breakfast favorite?

Without question, waffles. I love them all mind you, but if I had to chose, it’d be waffles. I wouldn’t be able to tell you why though. I like that just that little bit more though.

Do you think a person’s name influences the person they become?

I think to some extent it does. When you think about the amount of celebrities who change their name, that we know them by. So on some level it does. I also think they we feel not a social pressure, but a certain type of pressure to be like what you were named after. Myself, I was named after Lauren Bacall. Sometimes I feel I need to be a bit more cooler…At least I’m not named Karen at this time!

Would things get better or worse if humans focused on what was going well rather than what’s going wrong?

I do believe it would go better if we focused on more things that were going well. It just does your brain good. But not like the way Trump does it. He thinks everything he does, goes well. Don’t do “going well” like Trump.

Is math(s) something that humans created or something we discovered? Is looking at reality mathematically an accurate representation of how things work?

Maybe both?lol. I think it’s kind of hard to explain, as I would not call myself “mathematical” at all, lol. It does to an extent, it also depends though…Oh god, this is complicated in my mind. I know that I think maths does accurately represent how a lot of things work, but not everything…lol. As an example, they say music and maths are very similar. So somebody who can do maths well, can also play music. HOWEVER, does that mean that someone who can do maths, also represent how and why music makes us feel how we feel when we listen to a song that makes us feel … Oh dear god, I thought…ed!lol

GRATITUDE

What are you grateful for right now?   I realize it’s difficult to be very positive right now, unless one is being positive that things are pretty awful.   Let’s spread the joy in gratitude!!

I am honestly grateful for the Blogging community, especially the people who read mine! I had to go away and you’re all still here! Still communicating with me, although at the moment it can feel somewhat of an overabundance of communication is happening right now. It’s good and positive communication. Even this question is positive. Despite knowing that it’s not a great time, the question asks us to think of something positive and so you do. So I ask anyone who may not do the questions this week, to read this and any other blogger whose done the questions this week and think of something joyful and positive!

QUESTIONS THIS WEEK:

  • You’re walking in a forest and you find a black suitcase.  Inside it is one millions dollars and a piece of paper, stained in blood and bearing the single word “Don’t!”  Would you take the suitcase home or leave it?

I would so totally leave it! No money is worth my life, especially if it’s killer money and it kills me. Then I can’t spend it anyway! … I think I got carried away…KILLER MONEY!!!

Kill It With Fire GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

  • Imagine you lapsed and cheated on your partner. You feel horrible and you know you’ll never do it again, because the feeling is so awful. Would you confess?

No! That’s a horrible thought really. I have never cheated. I can’t imagine that I ever would. However, if I did. I wouldn’t say anything. I’m one of those people that thinks that by telling your partner you’re not doing it to not hurt them, you are doing it for yourself. That’s still a selfish move on the cheaters part. I feel like people only tell their partners when they want to get out of the relationship, but they don’t have the guts to actually break up…For whatever reasons.

  • Would you live your life differently if nobody ever judged you for anything you did?

Oh dear god…YES! A couple of months ago, I put an ANZAC symbol over my Facebook profile picture, one of those Facebook portraits. Even though the people in my family who actually fought liked it, my Mum rang me to tell me how disrespectful she found it. Like, she never rings to tell me “I am so proud of you” It’s like with a lot of people really, quick to be negative, never heard anything positive. I had to really convince myself that if the ANZACS didn’t find it offensive (and these family members would tell me and they definitely wouldn’t like it either) the my mother can get over herself, lol

I don’t know why people don’t understand if you do nothing but criticise, why would I believe you believe in me? I am nearly 35 and my Mum still gives me that up and down look of what I’m wearing…35! It doesn’t help that my brother is very fashion conscious, I’m just not,lol

  • Would a fly without wings be called a walk? No? What would you call it?

I don’t know?! A soar? I’m not honestly sure,lol

What’s something that brought joy and lightness of being to you this past week?

Seeing my kitty cat getting back to a some what “normal self”. He’s been having seizures about once a year, so we’ve kept trying different medications. This last one seemed to really knock him about, he was so lethargic and he wasn’t really drinking. He seems to be getting a little better, like he’s gotten used to the tablets, but the twitches have come back. Is it horrible to say that I don’t mind, because he seems to be much better.

QUESTIONS FOR THIS WEEK:

Name two books that have influenced you and share how.  (Credit for this question goes to Teresa of The Haunted Wordsmith.   She asked for TEN books, in her challenge, so the SYW folks got off a bit easy..)

The first one that kept popping into my head “Playing Beatie Bow“. It’s a very famous Australian book, so I wouldn’t be surprised if most of my readers have not heard about it. It inspired me to use my imagination more. At the same time I was reading the book, I was going through a similar situation, so to be able to escape to another time. There was just a great escape to it.

The other book is, pretty much, all of the Tolkien books. For extremely similar reasons. Funny how neither of the books that have influenced me are about now,lol

In your opinion, where is the line between art and not art?

Beyonce – Art … Kim Kardashian – Not art…Hahahahaha

Trivia for Halloween:   What item is banned only during Halloween from 12am October 31st to 12pm November 1st in Hollywood California?   (I know the answer, but I do not have any idea WHY)..c’mon…hazard a guess!

Oh wow, as an Australian, I literally cannot think of anything. Trying to think of what might be a possibility. Since you said “Hazard”….The only thing I can think of is a fire extinguisher, but why would they ban that? I’m sure that would be illegal. Is it the sale of toilet paper?

What is something that really annoys you but doesn’t bother most people?

I am not actually sure. A year or so ago I might have had an answer for this, but in the last year. I have been more and more surrounded by people who think similarly to myself. I honestly just can’t think of anything.

Instead of our usual gratitude question, I’m posing this one for this week:

What or who in your life brings you the most joy?

This is so funny because I have decided to make a list for New Years of not goals, but why I am grateful to be alive. Do I post what I’ve already got?

One Life

Look, I know that Royal Wedding might feel like it’s everywhere and you just want people to stop talking about…Just like every Oscars, Olympics,Eurovision…This is a one time special international event.

Please though:

We will have different interests and in this world today, if this brings joy to someone other than you. Please, just let them enjoy it. We all have one life and there is no harm in enjoying a Royal wedding…a Fairy tale for some. We all have one life, just let people enjoy this one moment in time.

If you were given $22 million tax free dollars (any currency), what is the first thing you would do? (This is just a dream question, remember anything can happen in SYW.)

I would definitely pay off both of my parents mortgages AND look for a house for myself. Probably not one that has something ridiculous like 7 bedrooms, but a nice house. That’s near the sea, but not so close that it gets all that salt rot.

In what do you find the simplest of joys?

Coming home again…Whether it’s my Mums or my partners home. That moment when you get back and you can take off all your annoying “look nice” clothes, and get into your sweats. Curling up with a cup of tea.

What would be your ideal birthday present, and why?

In all honesty (and my answer is pretty lame) Just to know that the ones I care about are happy. I know that it seems lame, but we’ve all had so much going on. That’d it’d been really nice just to know that they are genuinely happy. My partner and I make jokes now about how we are the druggie family. I’m on medication for my anxiety, he’s on antibiotics for an infected ear and even the cat at the moment. The cat is on tablets to see if his fits are from a parasite. Which means we are all taking some kind of medication at the moment. Even my Mum has come down with something personal, and she’s on antibiotics as well.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

So it seems like everyone in my family has high cholesterol, so my Doctor has put me on some tablets to help bring it down. I’m glad that I got is checked though. Now I know that I can’t keep eating badly, it’s making me want to change my lifestyle. More home cooked meals, more walks. My Doctor said that I wasn’t really at risk at a heart attack, because my blood pressure is fine. Although it’s scary, I am glad that I got it checked, because now I know.

If a distant uncle dies and you were always his favorite and leaves you $50,000 (any currency) in his will, what would you do?

I would probably give a couple of thousand to my Mum, Dad, Brother and partner…I would go somewhere, maybe too Queensland and have a proper holiday. The rest I would put away for a “rainy day”.

What sound or sounds do you love?

  • Birds chirping
  • Hearing the lazagne packet open
  • If I hear music and it fits my mood…I LOVE that!

What’s your middle name?  Why?

I am a weirdo…I have no middle name! My mum does, but my Dad and brother also do not have a middle name…and I am trying to negotiate with my partner that if we have a boy, I can have the name ‘Joseph’ in there somewhere. Can anyone tall me how I can convince him? He has a cousin-in-law with the Joseph and he doesn’t want to repeat.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

It’s been an interesting week. I’ve been getting shifts at work again, which have made me happy…My body has been randomly stiffening up and loosening. I’ve been getting together a lot of things that are crafty and are inspiring me to craft again. Yet, I don’t have enough and I have SO many ideas, that it’s stopping me,lol.

Interesting week
