Nervouness

I had a job interview today for a job that I really want. Getting a Library job around here is SO tough. Once people are in one, they tend to stay in Libraries for life. So to get any foot in, can take years…Literally years…It’s taken me over a year just to get this interview! I have Certificates and all sorts of things, I was volunteering, but I had to stop because it clashed with my paid work too much.

One of the other horrible things about living in a small town, dreams jobs are hard to come by. I have considered doing something else on the side, but what do you do?!

Share Your World … Week 42

If you wanted to de-clutter where you live, what room / space would you start with?  (And why, if you’re feel like admitting to it.)

This is actually a funny question, I am currently de-cluttering my own room. If I get into a “mood” that is usually where I first go too, I have so much stuff to get rid off and I’m planning on moving out. Also, it just feels like the right time to start getting rid of stuff, there’s a lot of clothes I’ve never worn, that sort of thing. New chapter and all that.

If you want to remember something important, how do you do it (sticky note on the fridge, string around your finger, etc.), and does it work?

I “text myself” and by that I mean, I will write a text message to myself. It does work actually work me. Even if I just write down some key words, and it does seem to work.

If you could create a one room retreat just for yourself, what would be the most important sense to emphasize:  sight (bright natural light, dim light, etc.), hearing (silence, music, fountain, etc.), smell (candles, incense, etc), touch (wood, stone, soft fabrics, etc.), or taste (herbal tea, fresh fruit, etc.)?

This is a good question! It would have to smell, there is nothing worse than a horrible smell, it can be really off putting to me. Think about when you open your bin or your fridge and there is some kind of funky smell. I don’t know about anyone else but that instantly puts me off, it makes me instantly tense. A nice smell makes me feel relaxed and happy.

If you could interview one of your great-great-great grandparents, who would it be (if you know their name) and what would you ask?

My family on either side sound completely fascinating, I would love to interview my Great great great grandparents. I would honestly not know who to choose.

History Repeating

I found an extremely interesting article: Goebbels’ former Nazi secretary has no regrets about her role in WWII

To break the article down, Brunhilde Pomsel was the former secretary of Joseph Goebbles, Reich Minister of Propaganda. In the article Brunhilde expresses how she had no regrets about her secretarial role, she was, in fact flatter.

(This is why you should all read the article)

The next part explained from Brunhilde herself (105 years old by the way). That it was part of the Propaganda’s “charm”…

“I know no one ever believes us nowadays – everyone thinks we knew everything. We knew nothing, it was all kept well secret.”

“Those people nowadays who say they would have stood up against the Nazis – I believe they are sincere in meaning that, but believe me, most of them wouldn’t have,” Pomsel said.

“The whole country was as if under a kind of a spell. I could open myself up to the accusations that I wasn’t interested in politics but the truth is, the idealism of youth might easily have led to you having your neck broken.”

I have to say…I believe her. I think about the media today, the people who are in control today and those people who are willingly to just believe anything a particular candidate says…Without saying anything. I read through the comments of a woman who railed racist abuse at an Spanish family. If you read the headline, you’d think this woman was randomly insane…HOWEVER (and I do not condone racism in any form.) She was yelling at this family because they had left their dog in the car on a 90+ degree day.

Ignoring what this woman said, which she apologised later for, and why she got upset. Throughout all the comments there were different news articles “proving” what the commenter or poster believed to be correct. How can you believe what really happened, when there are SO many different article saying different things? Fact vs Opinion – Lolsys Library

Does this article strike a chord with you? Can you think of any situation where this may be true these days?
