Let’s Share!…Electronically.

Although the Coronavirus is making most of us completely crazy. Whether it’s because you can’t buy toilet paper, or because you are just sick of hearing about it. It’s making most of us crazy in some way. For myself, I have anxiety and I’ve always been a little health paranoid and I HATE hearing about how Doctors, Nurses and Hospitals are running out of things, or don’t have enough >.<

That’s not what I want to write about here.

What I want to write about here, is if you have to isolate or “social distance” yourself. What are you going to do? I hate being sick, but I would hate being trapped even more! My partner told me we can go out into the back yard, so that’s good. I need fresh air, even if it’s freezing!

Boredom:

The problem with being stuck in, even your own house, for two weeks (14 days). Is that you will get bored very quickly. The first days always seem to be fun, but then the boredom creeps in and that’s when it can down hill fast. Mainly because you end up thinking about things and stuff. Which can one of two ways. You can either have great ideas, or really bad ones.

Streaming:

Seems like a good idea, but when you think about it. Everyone else will be doing it too (Look up Australia’s NBN and the problems there). If not working from home. So instead, I suggest getting out that old dusty DVD player. If you don’t already have DVDs, see if you can get someone else to head to the local library and get them to pick up a couple of DVDs. Download anything you want to watch. Netflix, for example, allow you to download movies, documentaries and tv series. You can’t play them in public, but you can play them in your own home.

(Any Australian Readers here?)

NBN

Reading:

Reading is probably one of the best boredom busters when you are stuck inside. I guess the question you need to ask yourself is if you want like book books or if you want to splash out and buy a Kindle. How many books do you even get? Do you know how many books, are on my book shelf, having bought them. From the mid of last year and I haven’t read them yet! This is because I keep borrowing books from the Library.

Exercise:

There is an ad in Australia that goes along the lines of “If you have a door, you have a gym”. Although clearly we have doors, I’m not talking about using your door as a gym. Just using your house as a gym, get into those summer bodies…or in Australia case, using exercise as a way to stay warm. Some places want you to stay inside, run up and down the hallway or stairs. There are many fitness gurus online or on YouTube. My favourite is the fitness marshall.

This video is my favourite one:

Uploaded by: The Fitness Marshall

Then after exercise you can do some Baking:

Now this one is a bit of yep and no. Mainly because it does depend on what you have or what you were able to get before you had to isolate. Now would be a good time experiment though.

Crafting/Knitting:

I put these two together as I felt like they came under the same kind of topic heading. Now is a good time to get into those crafts! I really found some beautiful yarn, that really made me want to learn knitting. I love to do crafting, but I always feel like I should be doing something else. Now is the time to start! Even if it’s doing those “odd jobs” around the house that you keep putting off.

Writing:

I have actually started a new book recently. I don’t want to say too much about it at the moment, because I just recently started it. I’m also thought working on an old, kind of book I’ve been writing for years now. I find it hard to write though when others are around. At the moment the school here haven’t been closed down, though we are expecting it any day. So, for now, my partner (a teacher)is still going to work. BUT he is moving over this weekend. So we are cleaning and packing at the moment.

Gaming (of course):

I, personally, can get lost for hours in one game. I have different games, but sometimes I just play one particular games for hours on end.

Please, help me again!

My Grandmama (who would hit me over the head for calling her that, lol). Is turning…Well a lady never tells of another ladies age. It’s an important number though. Her baby brother is even coming all the way from the UK. He has never been here before! It’s a pretty big deal!

I had one idea of buying her a necklace with the birth stone of her parents and her children. As my own brother mentioned though. It might make her depressed at such a “late stage”. So I have been going back and forth between it. One day I’ll think it’s a sweet idea, but she has been “losing it” a little lately >.< She’s supposed to be the most mentally sound of all of us. I think one day it’ll make her happy and then another it’ll just make her depressed.

One thing I have already bought her is a collection of Oscar Wilde stories. My Gran was a Librarian and she has always loved books. She’s got such a big book case! I’m always borrowing books from her. She also really loves Ravens, they are her “animal”. Like Lions, Wolves and Owls are mine…and her mothers. I have only been able to find one “thing” of a Raven, that’s actually nice and hasn’t got all death surrounding it.

Crowchet Zipper Pouch

I still like the idea of the birthstone, and the family tree. This where you all come in. Also, if you want to add any ideas to my Discord channel, please free too! I have added a channel “craftamake” Where people can share ideas and ask for Craft ideas.

#YouAreEnough…Day One

I haven’t done one of these in a really long time! A daily challenge and what better time to start a daily challenge then in the new year! I’ll be doing it each week, instead of daily (Day One is at the bottom), but feel free to do this yourself…Just remember to credit Miss Mandy Hale.

Below I have written the questions from “Mandy Hale – The “You are Enough 30 Day Blogging Challenge””

Now Mandy writes

So….here we go!

Day 22: In Chapter Sixteen, I discuss “Why We Cling to People Who Don’t Love Us.” Talk about a time when you clung to someone who didn’t love you, why you think you had such a hard time letting go, and how you finally tapped into your inner “enough-ness” to walk away.

Day 23: Today is my 40th birthday! Write about a milestone or significant birthday.

Day 24: In Chapter Seventeen, I talk about “Moving On,” metaphorically and literally. Discuss a time when you found the courage to move on from a toxic situation, relationship, or environment.

Day 25: In Chapter Eighteen, I become a “Church Chaser”!  Share your own story of faith. Your beliefs, your journey to find a church or place of worship, and how believing in a higher power has impacted your life.

Day 27: In Chapter Twenty, I talk about how I finally learned to “Let It Be.” Talk about what these three words mean to you. What does “letting it be” look like? How do you practice just “letting it be”?

Day 28: Also in Chapter Twenty, I talk about what my own “Happy Ending” looks like now, after everything I’ve learned. What does YOUR Happy Ending look like? In love and in life?

Day 29: In the epilogue, I talk about how the journey to “enough-ness” is never complete. Talk about your own journey to enough-ness, and how you’ve learned to embrace who you are, flaws and all.

The post The “You Are Enough” 30-Day Blogging Challenge! appeared first on Mandy Hale – Just a single girl with a story to tell.

Day 1:In the Introduction of #YouAreEnough, I talk about my “Enough” tattoo and why it was important to me to have this word imprinted on my wrist. Talk about a tattoo you have that is meaningful to you…or if you don’t have any tattoos, the tattoo you would get if you were going to get one.

I do not have any Tattoo’s, but I know exactly which one I would like to have. I would love to get some kind of tattoo of a Bull, possibly a bull type lady, just above where my heart is on my chest. I am a Taurus and I think of all the tattoos to get,  I can see myself not getting tired of that one. It’s the main reason though I don’t get one, I know I’d get tired and bored of it. I’d want to constantly change it. Like the one below (found on Pinterest)

Mindfulness

Too be completely honest with you all, when I first heard of “Mindfulness” I thought it was something to do with day dreaming.

Follow Me GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

I was clearly wrong…

Mindfulness is learning the ability to be present in the present moment. So when you have a anxiety moment/or moments. You are able to train and discipline yourself to calm yourself. Be in the moment.

Mindfulness is the psychological process of bringing one’s attention to experiences occurring in the present moment,[1][2][3] which one can develop through the practice of meditation and through other training. – Wikipedia (Mindfulness)

Mindfulness is about being present in the moment.

Some ideas on how to help being in the moment:

  • Understand when you first start to practice Mindfulness, you are not an expert. Expect to get distracted still.
  • Concentrate on what’s happening around you – Noises, smells
  • Try and not be judgmental about what you see, smell.
  • Notice what is in your immediate vicinity. How do your fingers feel on the surface your sitting on.

Do not worry if you start to drift off, and you don’t necessarily want to have a complete blank mind.

Being Aware, in that moment.

International Day of Charity

Today is the International Day of Charity.

What are the things you think of when you think Charity?

  • Others
  • Money
  • Donations
  • Donating
  • Help
  • Helpfulness
  • Time

I think a lot of people when they hear “Charity” they usual hear ‘spend money on someone you will probably never met’. However there are ways to do Charity without spending either any money or very little!

Charity Snap GIF by Teachers on TV Land - Find & Share on GIPHY

Good question!…Mystery Lady

  1. We all know (well I assume we all know) that you can donate clothes, furniture etc to a wide variety of Charities and apart from maybe the gas to get to the stores, it doesn’t cost you a thing!
  2. Spare change? Consider putting some of it into one of the tubs of the people standing/sitting all day for their cause.
  3. Consider a clothes or book swap, with your friends, family, co-workers as well, or community. You can bake and even raise money that way bake and swap!
  4. It seems that every cancer has a charity for it. With each charity comes a “theme” night/day. Consider wearing jean for genes day, A lot of charities here, in Australia, and a lot of the women’s charities. They will movie nights, make up nights etc.

Do you have any suggestions?

On the go

Blogging on the go

I have been trying to find way that you can “Blog-on-the-go”. I am open to suggestions! Sometimes I’ll be at work, or I’ll out and I think of a really good Blog topic. Only to get home and completely forget about what I was going to write about! I’ve tried texting to myself, it doesn’t always work though. Some people that I know get really annoyed if I go on my phone if I’m out with them. I’ve even gotten into a argument because I HAD to check my phone. As a girlfriend was trying to get over a guy and I was worried about her.

I was thinking that if I get a tax refund this year, that I might buy a tablet or something similar? Are those voice recorder pens, even a real thing?

Any ideas? What do you use?

May Goals…Too tick, or not too tick?

Dark Candle Light GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

  • Try on jackets and coats, get rid of ones that I haven’t worn in either years or ever.

I have done this one. It’s amazing how big coats and jackets are! They are not like tshirts and tops where you can fit a few in one bag to get rid of. You can put one or two coats into a bag only. There were a couple I “fit into” just can’t close them up anymore. Which is so sad! Of course they are my favourite coats as well.

  • Look into making my own candles and getting my own quotes on jars. (I was initially inspired by this after thinking about putting Magical Monday on a candle jar for myself. Then I thought why not look more into this?)

I have actually found a couple of sites which look great! It’s been completely fascinating and I have been getting even more ideas!

https://candlemaking.com.au/collections/candle-making-kits

http://www.labelprintingco.com.au/candle-label-printing.html – There is a pop up conservation window, where they’ll ask if you want any help.

https://candlemaking.com.au/products/warning-labels-for-candles

  • Try to create candles with certain fragrances as well…Try to research into what a “motivating” fragrance might be, for example.

This has been a bit harder just because you can’t really “smell” things over the computer. So when I’ve been going into stores, I’ve been trying to see if I can smell them. I actually found a few soaps and I liked their smells, lol. So I’ll have to see if I can create those smell…Watch this space for more!lol

  • Finish up writing the review for “Lord of Shadows”.

I did that too…And you can read it here.

  • Look into healthy Winter recipes.

There are a LOT of soup recipes for Winter. Soups and Stews…When I was little, I used to call Stews…Spew, lol…I have discovered lots of different lasagnes and yummy pies too! I can’t wait to make some of them! I might even post them on here…Don’t you feel lucky? =D

Clicks 2 – Self Business!

As you can see from my previous post (May Goals). I have decided that I am going to start at least researching about how I might be able to do this and start creating a small home business. I decided after initially being inspired by putting “Magic Monday” , which is one of my Blog categories) onto a jar for myself. Why not pursue this further? Using my own quotes and seeing if I can draw any kind of designs to come up with. Maybe place these on cushions and see what happens from there?

I have been able to find one good site so far:

https://candlemaking.com.au/

The only problem with this site, is that you can’t inscribe anything on the jars. However, I am sure I can find something that would allow me to do so. I have only just really started, so I have literally just been Googling everything at the moment. I would like some advice or some inspiration. Have any of you done this, or are currently doing something like this at the moment?

Ironically as well, this was my Horoscope for the week (Taurus)

So as you have probably heard by now, this is one of the biggest weeks of –arguably – your life! No kidding. This week sees the planet of revolution and rebellion, Uranus, bursting into your sign like a massive bolt of electricity that leaves every hair on your body standing on end.

So what do you have to look forward to? Well, change, awakenings and liberation, to name three things. It might be a bumpy ride but the shackles are falling away.

April Goals

My birthday is in April, so I’m hoping to do a lot of fun goals…But I have to do some serious work too!

Sad Autumn GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

(Seriously you would not it’s Autumn here at the moment…It’s 96.8 F today! = 36 C)

  • Find some low cholesterol recipes…I went to the doctors and my cholesterol is a bit high, so over the next month they want me to lower it. It has been amazing after that and looking at the actual packaging on food, how much sodium there is in everything! I need to sit down and look up/write some recipes.
  • I’ve decided that I’m going to have a “slumber pj movie night” for my birthday, it’s going to be held in the first weekend of May.
  • For my birthday I am going to look into having a “make your own smoothie” bar, since I can’t really drink. See how I can have movies and games at the same time.
  • Maybe…Maybe looking at hiring outdoor furniture for my partners house for my birthday…Maybe…
  • Look for a frame that will fit 4 A4 size pictures in…Maybe ask for one for my birthday, lol
  • Try Winter jeans/pants on, make sure that they still fit.
  • Too finish “Lord of Shadows” and write up a review

March Goals

Lets Go Start GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

  • Write up about the Anxiety apps that I have found about over the last month. I will try and do this in next couple of weeks.
  • Get some craft supplies to start crafting ideas I’ve seen.
  • Make sure my Winter clothes fit me…(We’re in Autumn at the moment, heading into Winter).
  • Look into how to start drawing…I am such a visual person and I have wanted to start learning how to draw…I think it’d be perfect!…I’m also open to any suggestions.
  • Look into doing a pyjama movie night for my birthday.
  • Look for a frame that will fit 4 A4 size pictures in.
