Going back to the movies (sort of)

Since more places are starting to open up again, one of the places to head too, are the movies/cinemas

Well, kind of…

A lot of cinemas that are even starting to open, wont open to full seats, and that’s okay. Also not everyone wants to head out straight out away, and that’s okay too.

So what do you do if you’re not ready to head out, or the seats are all already full?

Stay at home!

One of the funniest thing I discovered last year, was how many movies I still have on DVD, but every time a favourite is on the tv, I just have to watch it on the tv, even when I haven’t watched it on DVD for a long time. I just have to watch it when it’s on the tv. True, some of my movies go on for a long time and I like to watch them when I’m by myself.

Movies like, Lord of the Rings, Moulin Rouge…But when it’s on the tv, I can watch it, without getting to involved in it. That’s what I tell myself anyway, and if no one watches it on the tv, it wont come back on!

Where do you feel most at home?  Please be more specific than “at home, doh” please. It could be a room in your home, a person, a location…    

I wish I hadn’t said anything now!lol…However, I was thinking about this question a lot. I think that where I feel most at home, where ever my heart feels the safest. See, I have my anxiety attacks when I feel uncomfortable or unsafe. So when I don’t feel like I’m about to have a heart attack, I must feel safe there.

Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car?   

Well I’m scared of horses, and I’m still learning to drive. Riding a bike, would also help to get me healthier =D

What song would you sing on “Karoke Night” (if you were forced to do so)?    

I don’t really have a “song”. I just like to drink and then sing to anything. I do seem to sing to Bon Jovi at lot though. Not well, mind you,lol

University or life experience, which do you feel best prepares you for life?  

Probably life itself. While University is great if you want to become say a teacher, or a doctor, or part of a trade. How many times have we seen though, people with degrees or doctorates coming from say Harvard or Yale, just not really actually good with people.

Where are you from? Magical Monday #8

I got onto a whole topic recently about where a people come “from”. After seeing a twitter conversation from an AA about how it was sad that African American people have lost where they’re from. Which I didn’t agree with, and not many people did, especially AA. But the original poster was talking about how she thought African Americans had completely forgotten about which country they had come from. Rather than about culture.

Which got me thinking about where do we all “come from”.

Don’t English homes look so tiny, but yet so cozy. We have a lot of tiny little apartments building up around where I live and they look claustrophobic to me. English cottages, just look cozy…Might be just me.

What’s the biggest screw up in the kitchen that you were responsible for?

Well people who know me would make fun of me just being in the kitchen. I am just not a cooker at all. Mainly though because no one ever let me cook really. If I tried people would get frustrated with me because I was slow, but that was because no one would let me cook. At least I didn’t burn two minute noodles! The biggest screw up in the kitchen I’ve “done” is breaking the bin…But I knew it was going to happen, because it was already over filled and when that happens the lid gets stuck. Since we had people over Mum decided to get everyone to look at me and say “Shows you how often Lauren takes the bin out”. It was so awkward.

What, in your opinion, makes people believe absurd conspiracy theories?

I think it’s both a lack of life experience and not getting out enough and someones upbringing. As much as I despise generalisations, they are there for a reason.

In 40 years what will people be nostalgic for?

I think we’ll be nostalgic for what we are nostalgic for now. The circle keeps spinning. They have just recently been bringing back all my old childhood toys. It’s been weird!lol

Is a hot dog a sandwich?  

I think so. It’s got bread, in a roll form and it had a filling.

What wonderful thing happened to you this week that you’d like to share?  It can be a gratitude moment or something that just made you feel very happy at the time or made you laugh.

I have had a really good week. I was told that some of my ex friends were talking shizzle about me on their Facebook pages and I didn’t care. I expected it, they’ve been doing this since High School, they still stalk their ex’s pages. It was though the first time I realised how sad they are, they are supposed to be going through the happiest time of their lives right now…and they’re talking about me? Making other people feel weird and uncomfortable, showing who they truly are.

 If you drink coffee, how do you like it best?  Hot, cold, iced, with cream, with sugar or black as black? 

I used to drink, but I find that it exasperate’s my anxiety, so I don’t drink it anymore. Sometimes I get cravings for it, only sometimes still.

If you don’t drink coffee, how has that beverage impacted YOUR world?

Saying that though tea has been impacting my world, big time lately. It means I can keep drinking and I love all the different flavours and each one does actually seem to make me feel something different. Some make me feel calmer, tired, awake, comfy. It’s brilliant!

In your opinion, what’s the greatest invention of our age?   

I think the mobile phone is. Just because if you are in a jam it’s handy having a phone with the phone numbers already in it, that you can call. You try going without your phone all day. We have become so reliant on it, probably more to do with the social media aspect. But I really do believe that the mobile phone is the greatest invention of my age.

Global warming?  Reality or myth?

Total Reality.

Are you an explorer or more a home body?

More of a home body, but every know and then I like to explore. Where I live is perfect for it as well. It has a little park and a little cafe nearby, that looks over the park and the man made wetlands. Sometimes I’ll walk around and then finish off with a nice drink at the cafe. Not so much during Winter though,lol

If you were to pack a basket for pinic lunch, what would be in your basket?

A nice sandwich with probably that yellow pickled stuff (I have honestly forgotten what it’s called) and either turkey or ham. Either that or Cranberry sauce/jam with Turkey amd lettuce (usually I enjoy those around more Christmas time). At the moment I am nearly obsessed with drinking lemon, lime and bitters. I say nearly because I don’t only drink them. If it’s cold, I’ll have a tea in my travel mug.
Probably some sort of cookie as well. I actually dont like bringing cakes to a picnic. They get so messy and you have to find a space for them, they’re just not very convienent at a picnic.

On a vacation what you would require in any place that you sleep?

Something good to actually lie on! I have tried camping, I am no good at it. I can do it for maybe one night, but after that. A good old nope,lol…Actually if the tents came with good bedding, I’d probably be alright with that.

If you were to buy a new house/apartment what is the top three items on your wish list?

• I would wish two bathrooms and they don’t have to be two fully decked out. Actually maybe two toilets. At least two rooms that have toilets in them.
• A pool. It’d be so handy to have a pool with appropriate shading, especially during Summer. My partner is looking for a house at the beginning, I keep asking him to get one with a pool…Nope,lol…It doesn’t have to be huge!lol
• A heater that works properly. My partners current rental property has the worst heater ever! The temperature thing has gone and it just get’s hotter and hotter. I actually came close to having heat stroke last year, in the middle of Winter!

What did you or did not like about the first place you lived without your parents?

WELL…lol…The mistake I made was moving with a few friends whose one parents owned the house. Which meant they could do anything they wanted, and we could not. We also paid our rent on time (we paid our money directly to our ‘friends’parents, not through a landlord…BIG MISTAKE!) and yet the amount of times we had the water cut off was ridiculous! The thing that made us even angrier, I was the last person to move in. Instead of the rent being less for everyone, I had to pay the exact amount of money, and they had to keep paying the same amount of money…So they were getting MORE money and yet the water STILL kept being cut off. No one lives there anymore,lol.

Oh! Oh! Even if you were in a couple, we EACH had to pay $400 a month. So you couldn’t divide it between you. We had 6 people living there one time and we ALL paying $400 and still the water was getting cut off.

What is your most favorite smell/scent?

I have these black candles “Madison French – Moonlight Mist” They smell beautiful…I haven’t even burnt them yet! I buy some every time they have them, but they have them so few times, that I don’t want to burn them. I only have about 5 or 6 and I haven’t seen any of them for over year now.

Would you prefer snowy winters, or not, and why?

I have never even seen a snow in Winter…I come from “Down Under”. So we don’t really get snow in Winter, up in the mountains in Victoria I believe they do…Not really anywhere else. So I cannot honestly answer, I’d probably enjoy a snowy day for that…a day,lol…I am no good with cold.

What are you reading right now?

I am kind of reading between two books at the moment, which you can find at my Goodreads link. Although by the time you read this I would have updated it as I have just finished one of the two books that I’ve been reading.

What was your first adult job?

It was a front desk receptionist for a tax/accountant company. I would get clients details, update clients details. Do whatever you think a front desk receptionist would do.

 What’s your favorite breakfast cereal?

I’m not sure if America have this one, but we have this breakfast cereal here called Sultana Bran and I loooooooooooove it! The juicy of the sultana crunching with the crunchiness of the bran it’s just fantastic. It’s one of those cereals that I could have for breakfast, lunch and dinner! A lot more of the sugary type cereals I tend to eat for a sweet snack.

Even though it has stressed me out a little to have no shifts for work this week. I have really loved waking up with my Dog. She is the cutest in the morning, I really must take video of her. She’s so lazy and just doesn’t care that we are still in bed at 11 in the morning (I don’t like waking her up,lol). You can tell that she is just so relaxed and so comforted to know that someone is home with her.
