May Goals…Too tick, or not too tick?

  • Try on jackets and coats, get rid of ones that I haven’t worn in either years or ever.

I have done this one. It’s amazing how big coats and jackets are! They are not like tshirts and tops where you can fit a few in one bag to get rid of. You can put one or two coats into a bag only. There were a couple I “fit into” just can’t close them up anymore. Which is so sad! Of course they are my favourite coats as well.

  • Look into making my own candles and getting my own quotes on jars. (I was initially inspired by this after thinking about putting Magical Monday on a candle jar for myself. Then I thought why not look more into this?)

I have actually found a couple of sites which look great! It’s been completely fascinating and I have been getting even more ideas!

http://www.labelprintingco.com.au/candle-label-printing.html – There is a pop up conservation window, where they’ll ask if you want any help.

  • Try to create candles with certain fragrances as well…Try to research into what a “motivating” fragrance might be, for example.

This has been a bit harder just because you can’t really “smell” things over the computer. So when I’ve been going into stores, I’ve been trying to see if I can smell them. I actually found a few soaps and I liked their smells, lol. So I’ll have to see if I can create those smell…Watch this space for more!lol

  • Finish up writing the review for “Lord of Shadows”.

I did that too…And you can read it here.

  • Look into healthy Winter recipes.

There are a LOT of soup recipes for Winter. Soups and Stews…When I was little, I used to call Stews…Spew, lol…I have discovered lots of different lasagnes and yummy pies too! I can’t wait to make some of them! I might even post them on here…Don’t you feel lucky? =D

Clicks 2 – Self Business!

As you can see from my previous post (May Goals). I have decided that I am going to start at least researching about how I might be able to do this and start creating a small home business. I decided after initially being inspired by putting “Magic Monday” , which is one of my Blog categories) onto a jar for myself. Why not pursue this further? Using my own quotes and seeing if I can draw any kind of designs to come up with. Maybe place these on cushions and see what happens from there?

I have been able to find one good site so far:

https://candlemaking.com.au/

The only problem with this site, is that you can’t inscribe anything on the jars. However, I am sure I can find something that would allow me to do so. I have only just really started, so I have literally just been Googling everything at the moment. I would like some advice or some inspiration. Have any of you done this, or are currently doing something like this at the moment?

Ironically as well, this was my Horoscope for the week (Taurus)

So as you have probably heard by now, this is one of the biggest weeks of –arguably – your life! No kidding. This week sees the planet of revolution and rebellion, Uranus, bursting into your sign like a massive bolt of electricity that leaves every hair on your body standing on end.

So what do you have to look forward to? Well, change, awakenings and liberation, to name three things. It might be a bumpy ride but the shackles are falling away.

No joke, we went from 104 (F) weather (40 c) to Winter the very next day…Been a bit of a shock to the system.

Getting started

This is for all my drawing/artist/creative type readers/Home Business followers…At the moment I have two casual jobs and while I enjoy both of them I am just not making enough money. I’m making enough to “survive” and luckily my partner and my mum charge me rent/bills on a percentage of what I make, rather than a set amount.

As I mentioned before I really do enjoy where I’m working at both places, I am really lucky that all my co-workers are lovely people and even with that one expected customer that’s always causing trouble. The work is good too, not to difficult that I just can’t do it, but keeps me busy and my mind off other things. Some weeks though I just don’t get the shifts, which when you’re a casual means, you get paid…well…nothing.

So this is where all my drawing/artist/creative type readers/Home Business followers come into play. I want to do something from home where I can make money as well. I love doing little crafty things and I would love to make a little business of bits and bobs. However, I have no idea where to start. So I was hoping that someone could give me ideas of any web pages or any sites that are good for people who want to get started, what sites are good to sell on, any legal information I may need. I was thinking of making things like:

  • Themed candles as well as just random scented
  • Handmade cards for all occasions
  • Flowery headbands
The Thinker

I am writing a couple of stories and am even writing what I call “script ideas” for a tv show for a role playing game that I used to play and I would love to be able to draw. I am a very visual person, but I am honestly also too lazy to learn how to draw properly. I can start and try, but I’d probably never get to the point where I could sell the art. The writing is mainly for myself and I’m not sure that I have to confidence to try and sell the ideas to someone either…It makes me feel kind of sad too at the same time as well. Who doesn’t want to be the next J.K. Rowling?

Ch-ch-changes

So I have been going through a lot of personal stuff at the moment, the big thing is I don’t know if I am going to have a job in the next couple of weeks. Which as you can imagine is just incredibly stressful. It’s been making me really take a hard look at a few things. I’m not actually even supposed to know about this situation. See, I work as a casual so our contract is usually renewed every three-four months depending on the time of year and it’s been like this for the last couple of years. This time they have apparently decided not to renew any contracts. My manager has apparently been so shocked by this and she is trying to fight for us, so I have no idea what’s going on.

The thing that’s irritated me the most about this situation is no one has actually told us and considering the contract we’re on finishes in the next couple of week, not months, I am looking strongly for another job. One that is a lot more stable.

As you can imagine that has taken an impact on my whole life. It’s really made me think though I would love to do some kind of “at home” business, except then the questions happen “What do I actually decide to do”. I have so many people around me who are just SO creative and they are doing amazing things with their creations. I’m all over here and like … I don’t know what I do well … I love to dress up and I would love to Cosplay stuff … It’s kind of intimidating for me though, my brother is this amazing seamstress and makes incredible clothes.

Sorry all … I think that this is definitely more of a “rambling” type blog today. Do any of you, my amazing readers, have your own business that you run from home? What inspired you to start? What is your inspiration? I would really love to read what you have to offer.
