Share Your World … May 1, 2017

Would you rather live where it is always hot or always cold?

Always hot (as long as it’s not too boiling) I could never ever live somewhere where it always cold, I think I would die. I am really not a fan of the cold, it’s horrible getting to and from work and then you have to try and make yourself warm. Thanks to my anxiety, I do much better when I can put the window down, and during Winter you can’t really do that.

Do you prefer long hair or short hair for yourself?

I have always had long hair, the shortest that I’ve ever had is probably to my shoulders and that was because my Mum “accidentally” cut my hair all lopsided, so we had to keep cutting it to make it even.

What is your favorite month of the year?

Probably December, which surprises people a lot because it’s not my birthday month, but as I’ve mentioned in a previous post. Birthday very rarely go the way that we would like them too. I’m a big Christmas person though, I always enjoy Christmas. Even last year when I had to do a lot of my shopping online because of my anxiety, as I found it hard being in a very full shopping centre, I still enjoyed it…Mainly it’s the people. Also the weather is nice and warm, not too hot yet, but warm enough I can wear skirts and dresses and feel great.

What is the easiest way for your to learn something new?  By reading, by seeing and doing, in a classroom?

I have to kind of see it and do it myself as well, and I probably will take a few times to see it. It’s funny that this question is in here today. As I’m writing this I started training at a new job and I kind of felt thrown in at the deep end today. No one really explained to me how the phone works, the kind of enquiries they get over the phone, and they kept doing that too me! I was getting really annoyed, they didn’t even tell what was then hold and transfer button. All it would have taken is one time for me too see to get it. In all honestly when that happens to me, I don’t learn anything, I panic on the spot and take nothing in.

Getting to know the Blogger…Part 3

As I’ve mentioned before I have been breaking these questions up into 25 questions, I hope that you have been enjoying them! The last questions were a lot about driving and I don’t, so I hope that they weren’t too boring.

  1. Last time you got a portrait taken by a photographer?
It has been years since I had my portrait taken by a photographer, I think I may have even have been in high school, which was now over 10 years ago…Oh, that is terrifying.
  2. Do you think musicals are cheesy?
Musicals are my favourite! Apart from Fantasies like LotR, musicals are my favourite types of movie. When I get a rare and rarer night to myself I love to get some “good” food and drink and I will put one of the musicals on.
  3. Is Christmas stressful?
For me it’s stressful in terms of finding people decent presents. However, I have come up with a “system” of sorts that starts in June. I start putting money away in June and then start getting little presents around September. I choose September because that’s the last major birthday for me. Christmas isn’t usually stressful for me, because I enjoy it. This years Christmas will be sad for me though because I wont be spending it with my family, I’ll be spending it with my partners family. Who live a really long way away, so I wont be able to spend anytime with them. It’ll only be the second time in my life that I’ve spent a Christmas away from my family.
  4. Ever eat a Pierogi?
    TOO THE GOOGLE! So…No,lol
  5. Favorite type of fruit pie?
It’s got to be a Apple Pie…Especially on a cold winter with a whole lot of custard.
  6. Occupations you wanted to be when you were a kid?
I wanted to be either a Ballerina or a Fairy Queen…I am not even kidding, I had the whole “how to become a Fairy Queen” gig all worked out. Sometimes I also wanted to be a hairdresser, but that was more to do with others people wanting me too, because my hair was just so long.
  7. Do you believe in ghosts?
I think that they are out there, I haven’t had any personal experience. There’s a few people I know though that both believe and don’t believe that they’ve had encounters.
  8. Ever had a deja-vu feeling?
I get it quiet a lot actually, but I just tell myself most of the time that I am being silly.
  9. Take a vitamin daily?
I don’t, but I probably should and I have been thinking about it a lot lately. Mostly trying to figure out what I might need to start taking.
  10. Wear slippers?
I wear them quiet a lot actually, my feet get really cold, they can even get really cold during Summer. I am always being told that I have really bad circulation in my feet all the time. I am aware of this. Most of the time if I’m not wearing slippers, I will be wearing socks at least.
  11. Wear a bath robe?
I do, I already have two. One is at my house and the other is at my partners house and I am already thinking of getting one that is Harley Quinn related.
  12. What do you wear to bed?
It depends who I’m with, what time of year and if there are other people in the house. If it’s just my partner and myself I usually wear one of his t-shirts and not much else, except in Winter where I’ll pants and socks. If other people are in the house, I’ll be fully clothes or wear a long night-gown.
  13. First concert?
I think from memory, that my first concert was a 5ive concert and we didn’t have the greatest of seats, but even so, the atmosphere was awesome!
  14. Wal-Mart, Target or K-Mart?
It would have to be between Target and K-Mart, we don’t have Walmart in Australia. They might somewhere like Sydney, but I don’t think so. K-Mart has such a great variety and it usually is very cost effective. Target has more expensive things but they clothing is supposedly of more quality. Generally I’ll go to K-Mart, but for good quality work clothing I’ll go to Target.
  15. Nike or Adidas?
I don’t mind really, I haven’t bought either for a really long time.
  16. Cheetos or Fritos?
I have never actually had Fritos before, so I’d have to go with Cheetos.
  17. Peanuts or Sunflower seeds?
Peanuts, mainly the honey roasted peanuts…So good.
  18. Ever heard of the group Tres Bien?
I thought it was just a French saying >.<
  19. Ever take dance lessons?
Yes, half of my life was going to dance lessons. I miss it a lot, I only really quit because the competition to get main parts started to turn nasty.
  20. Is there a profession you picture your future spouse doing?
Well, whatever makes him happy really.
  21. Can you curl your tongue?
I can roll my tongue in half, but I can’t make any special “rose” petal shapes or anything like that.
  22. Ever won a spelling bee?
As far as I am aware we don’t even have spelling bees here.
  23. Have you ever cried because you were so happy?
Of course. It’s very rare though, but I definitely do. It usually also involves animals getting rescued, or something like that.
  24. Own any record albums?
I’ve never really had any, but I’m looking into getting one, just cause I think it’d be cool to have one.
  25. 75. Own a record player? I have never owned one myself, but I can remember having one when I was little. I think that my Dad may still actually still have it.

I gotta say

I completely forgot that during the past weekend was America’s Inauguration Day in America, over the weekend, and I missed it because I was away the whole weekend…And I am so glad that I did.

You see I live in Australia, but that doesn’t mean the media over this latest Inauguration was any less. I went back on Social Media for about 30 seconds and I came off of it again. It is really a toxic situation.

Instead I got to spend the weekend in the lovely countryside, with big beds, room service and a huge spa bath…Not that I mean to brag or anything. So I cannot tell a lie and say that I totally missed this weekend in the “real world” because I did not.

Those last days…

I have to go back to work tomorrow…Don’t get me wrong I am grateful that I even have a job for the moment. The team are fantastic, but I am having  a hard time feeling happy at the moment. I had really honestly thought that I was getting the job that I had recently gone through and had to make adjustments to other parts of my life, just so I could be there for training. Usually after about a day I am able to get up, smile and continue, but I have really been struggling since the day I found out I wasn’t getting the job.

Maybe it’s a sign? I have been thinking of doing that side business I keep talking about, maybe there’s a reason it never stops coming up, maybe there’s a reason I can’t get no job satisfaction. My Gran who is probably the biggest influence in my life  and is also the most no nonsense person I know. She has been telling me for YEARS that I need to get more serious with writing and possibly looking into Cosplay, or something to do with it, since I love dressing up. I have so many wigs…It’s ridiculous!

Share Your World … Week 51

Share Your World … Week 51

What is your favorite holiday?

I would have to say that it’d be between Christmas and Easter, but it’s mainly because a lot of those type of holidays, we spend with family, and I think that’s why they are my favourite holidays. I would say Christmas tips the scales just that little bit more because people are more willing to get together around that holiday, rather than Easter.

What types of food is associated with your holiday?

I guess it’s would be very English food, kind of traditional food, I guess you would say. We have the Turkey, the Ham, lot’s of boiled vegetables and I love Brussel sprouts! We do the pudding and the Christmas cake.

Do you travel for your holiday?

I don’t usually, we’ve been going to a family members house every year. I travel about 30 minutes to go to their travel, so I do “travel”lol…Next year though I will have too and I am not looking forward to it, it’ll be one of my first Christmas’s away. I will be driving about 3 hours to get to my partners side of the family.

Is it a religious or spiritual holiday?

The great thing about my family is that we are all so different, and we all have different beliefs backgrounds and we get along so well. So it’s kind of a everything holiday, lol

Is there a gift exchange?

Yeah, as we have gotten older the presents between the adults has gotten less. We’re now at the point where with the adults we just do a Secret Santa.

How long does the celebration last?

Usually just the day, but we sometimes catch up a couple of days to celebrate some of family members birthday who were born in that week.

The Holiday Blues

I have been noticing a lot of “holiday blues” post over the last couple of weeks and I have to admit that I am kind of feeling them a bit this year. Part of is due to I don’t always feel comfortable going out at the moment. The other part is…it’s just been a crappy year, and the thought of 2017, isn’t looking too much brighter at the moment.

We’ve had very close votes for nearly every single country, all of which has brought out a lot of hate. I do mean a scary amount of hate. The thing is, most of the stuff that’s happening in 2017 hasn’t even happened yet! We’ve been seeing just the run up. No wonder everyone is feeling a little more down this year…It’s been horrifying!

What I try to do when I’m feeling a bit blue around times that should be happy. I try to focus on that occasion. Instead of reading the news, I’ll read if there are any specials on things I need. Instead of reading opinions, I’ll read a good book, full of my own imagination.

I know it’s hard. Sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram are hard to put behind. Think about it like this. If your best friend was getting upset because of these sites and was becoming addicted to these sites. What would you do? It’s an interesting thought that we would be more willing to stop our friends and help them, then ourselves. It’s amazing how even having one day off can make the world of difference.

Clean, Bake, Make and Craft.

The hardest thing is to give yourself permission to take a day off.

I’m Back!

I am back from my short holiday interstate and it was such a great weekend…I was trying to write something this morning, but I just felt so tired. I was very lucky that I was not working today, because I’ve had this little bit of a headache, just at the front of my head.

I love to travel, I am not a very good flyer (I get motion sickness) but there is something about travelling and seeing a different state that can just motivate one. My Aunt and I were talking about how if we lived in Melbourne we’d probably get bored of it and she’s probably right…But I still really love it. I think that Melbourne is the state that my State should be modelling itself on and I think we are headed that way…However slowly. I am actually not a big Sydney fan, it’s just to busy.

I am looking forward to the rest of the week to see what happens. I need things to change!

Share Your World … Week 22

  1. Every country in the world has lost men and women in some kind of Armed Forces.  When does your country celebrate or morn their deaths? (Optional)
I live in the Country Down Under and we have two days here. The major one is on the 25th of April, every year. It’s called ANZAC Day, ‘ANZAC’ stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. It’s celebrated on this day as on the morning of 25 April 1915, the Anzacs set out to capture the Gallipoli peninsula in order to open the Dardanelles to the allied navies. The other is November 11th (I think that this is celebrated a lot though). 11:11am we take a one minute silence…Remembrance Day.
  1. What is your favorite holiday or holidays?
I am a Christmas girl all the way. The feeling of the season just brings out my happy side. I spend all year getting little bits here and there all year. It’s amazing what you can save when you put a little away each week/fortnight.
  2. How do you celebrate that holiday?
Another reason that I love the season is that it brings everyone out and brings the whole family together. We have a very traditional Christmas, same traditions every year. Ones that have been in our families for years.
