June Solstice

I was very interested to find out that today, in my state, is the date of June Solstice (the 21st) early in the morning.

What is the June Solstice, I hear you ask? Well I shall tell you.

The June or Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere is the shortest day of the year, while in the Northern hemisphere it is considered to be the longest day of the year. Now by “longest” and “shortest” I mean the amount of daylight during that one day. The June solstice is the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. Usually it happens anywhere between the 20th and the 22nd, depending on your time zone.

You can look up your local time for the Winter or Summer Solstice via this link.
