Sometimes the things that make me happiest, are not quotes about happiness, necessarily. This one makes me grin every single time.

Dalai-Lama Happiness

Not only do I love the Dalai Lama, but I also absolutely agree with this quote. Suffering from anxiety, a lot of the times I have recognised that it is my own head. I have ways to get myself back together again. So sometimes yes, it is up to us and our actions to ‘get happy’. The moment you stop relying on others to make you happy. It’s freeing! It’s still nice to have people who can make you happy, but do it for yourself first.

Happy?

My Mum and I were talking about this (my mum and I have some interesting random conversations). Someone that we both know posted a post on Facebook that said “Happy Easter”…but is it really?

Easter Friday, especially since it’s the day that they put Jesus on the cross? Hence, why we have delicious hot cross buns…Sorry, I can’t help it, I love hot cross buns.

We were talking about how it’s interesting how some people will say Happy Easter or Happy Anzac Day or how some get really offended by the term “Happy Holidays”. Usually the same people that say Happy Easter are the ones usually offended by Happy Holidays.

When do you think it’s appropriate to say “Happy…”?

QUESTIONS:

What is the best pick me up that you know of?  To shake you out of the blues?

Honestly, I usually come off of Social media, that seems to be a good first step these days, especially lately! After that I usually will end up doing one of three things: Reading, playing games or listening to music. Sometimes though if a great comedy is on, that always works as well. A good documentary also makes me feel better.

What would be the title of your memoir?

My family make fun…well maybe not fun…but I have this saying. It’s one that I’ve said should be on my tombstone, and I think it’d appropriate for a memoir title.

“I’ll be fine”

Where do you like to go when you eat out?

I like to go somewhere where it’s comfortable and although you can dress up if you like and not look too silly, I don’t like having to go over the top either. Somewhere where conversation is encouraged.

Do you believe in luck?

A little bit. I don’t think we should rely on luck, but I believe in it.

Aside from necessities, what is one thing you couldn’t go a day without?

Comfy clothes! Even when I’m working, the thought of those comfy clothes waiting for me when I get home makes such a difference!

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?

Is it too mean to say being in Trumps “circle”,lol

What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?

I’m usually thinking what I’m doing in the car. By that, I mean depending on where I’m going I’ll be thinking things like “Do I need to pop in anywhere else on the way.” “Did I hear about roadworks, or crashes I need to be aware of?” or on the way back, it might be more “Well that day was long”. Other than that, I usually just listen to the radio or some music.

How would you rate your memory? 

At the moment it’s not fantastic. However I did find out recently that I have extremely low Vitamin D, which can make you feel fatigued, which is what I’ve been feeling like recently. I am sure that feeling sleepy, not much goes into the brain. So hopefully with the medicine I’ve received, that will improve my memory as well as my Vit D levels!

And lastly:

What’s one song that always cheers you up, no matter how blue you’re feeling?

It honestly feels like a cliche to say this song, and I can’t even remember what I used to listen too before to cheer me up. I think it was either a Beatles (here comes the sun, pops into my mind) or Monkees song (probably daydream believer).

 

Win Days!

I was thinking about this today, how often do we have a “Win” day. By this I mean, how many days do we have that turn out a LOT better than they had started or how we anticipated them? I had one of those today and I really wanted to talk to my partner about it, but then I felt I was bragging…and there was nothing to “brag” about. It was just a day that turned out really well. Despite how I thought it was going to be.

Then when we do have them, I don’t know about others. I want to share with anyone and everyone I meet how well everything went. Then I get all embarrassed and nothing really that exciting happened, it just went well.

How often do they happen really though? Especially on those days when you think it’s just going to go all bad? We should celebrate those days, even if we have to celebrate by ourselves.

I don’t hate Johnny Depp

I don’t know if you’ve all seen the latest interview with Johnny Depp. I’m all over the place with it. The interview itself was interesting, but I truly wished he would have taken more responsibility for his actions. I am tired of hearing he didn’t hit Amber in the video, so it’s not abuse. There are other forms of abuse.

Time to get personal here.

My father has never hit me, he spanked me a couple of times when I was younger, but nothing that I’d call abusive. HOWEVER, he is an alcoholic and oh my goodness the things names and text messages I’ve received over the years. If someone else saw them, they’d punch him up or be in complete shock as to why I even still speak too him. Like Johnny, I don’t think my father is evil. He has had a hard life, but it’s not an excuse to take it out on me. Also like Johnny, I don’t think my Dad is happy himself. I don’t think he gets any pleasure out of the abuse he hurls at me.

I like Johnny Depp, I just know that he could be a LOT better if he took responsibility for his actions and what he is doing. If he’s stupid fans could STOP hating on other people, because they want Johnny to do better…They can’t possibly have read that interview and thought “There’s a happy guy!”. If Vanessa thought he was so wonderful, why leave him? Women just don’t leave great guys, we just don’t, lol.

It’s okay not too be perfect. I don’t hate Johnny Depp, I don’t think that he’s a bad guy. I think he’s a lost soul and needs some guidance instead of people telling him that he’s wonderful a perfect. It doesn’t mean though he can got off.

What was or is your favorite cartoon?

I would have to go with the classic that “The Simpsons” Even know I get so happy watching it. I believe there is a Simpson quote for everything…FOR EVERYTHING! Even now even though they are running out of ideas, I still am loving most of the newer episode.  Any show that runs for over 20 years you are always going to have a miss type episode. I personally HATE the Australian episode too…It was just so stupid!lol

Which cooking utensil (other than the usual pots and pans etc) would you miss the most?

Oh wow, I had never thought about that before! I honestly think that I would miss having spoons. They are just so handy! They may not cut very well, but they can usually still do it. A lot of the time I use spoons to scoop things. It’d be a lot harder with a fork or a knife!

Would you dare to sleep in haunted house overnight?

I actually kind of have once, but I was with other people. I once spent a weekend at a supposed “haunted house” and we played a murder mystery over the weekend. It was so much fun! Personally I didn’t feel anything, but apparently others did.

My partner…Once or twice a year I just get really unhappy, everything that’s bothered…Even if it was a couple of months ago, gets on top of me. Even if I’ve dealt with, I just like to have a good cry. This week a lot happened at once.
